1 guild by race

Still on the guild topic (yes, I like that): what would you think of having just 1 guild by race in DC? I know, some ego cannot live with that idea but wouldn't it make DC stronger and more united?

Having just 1 guild at all would be against the lore so let's not go that way at all but I personally would be in favour of just 1 guild by race (me not being a leader nor lead staff member, this is just an idea of mine).

Do you mean all 100 DC guilds merge to ONE guild of DC, and it will be stronger?

Well > Many players have own feeling, goal, type (pvp, pve, rp) and other issues (private/friendly guilds). Thus it never be possible to collect to ONE guild no matter.

But! It is possible if you form a "Grand Alliance" (just idea of name) on a other forum or here or other website - It means you deal with few guilds to work same for the "Grand Alliance". Every guildleader need to met a place and discuss how plan or so. it can work, but it is not easy task.

Luck if you talk with few guildleaders and agree to merge to one guild, BUT what feel of members will follow or leave, it is the risk.

It wouldn't be easy of course. But I've seen sooooooo many guilds with at most 10 active members after 6 months of play that I wanted to make people think about this topic.
I know I'm dreaming but hope makes a living, doesn't it? ;)

Of course, it is ok. But for my experience, it often FAILTURE. I have been there before of other MMORPG. Very rare successful.

But i mean "Grand Alliance", is maybe good idea. Since all guilds will stay as before, just guildleaders only need to met and discuss, it helps a lot.

I've seen many, many guild mergers in my time as a guild leader and most of them go down in flames. You take two potentially different groups of people and then put them together with new rules and regulations. In an ideal situation you would get all the RP guilds, who are EU only, all use Ventrilo, and all have the same expectations of their members and you could probably make it work. But taking a PvP guild who hates RP, and mixing them up with an RP guild who's people demand you are In-Character at all times would go over very, very poorly.

Usually what I've seen be fairly more successful were alliances, but those often are fraught with petty infighting between leaders vying for control of the Alliance, and moods get sour when someone fracks up and has their guild removed for poor behavior or the likes. The less complicated the better usually. It is an intriguing concept and idea Lakthazer, but realistically I doubt people would do well as a massive group with few things in common. If you want to try the Alliance thing I am certain though that many people would be interested in supporting such an endeavor, provided the expectations were not over the top!

I agree with you, Berda.

But it is not always perfect, so all Alliance groups need a good role of preparations, tactic how RP, PvP, PvE groups could teamwork, but set more goals, so they can choose one of 2-4 goals in same Alliance side. TESO is as well a PvP goal, reason The Rudy Throne. Between time, all can do what they wish, so long all Alliance guilds can collect on a strong group, same what RP, PvP or PvE players.

PvE = goal to stop Undead and Demons armies, happy with Questline/raids/Dungeons.
PvP = goal to become Rudy Throne, who of EP, AD or DC...
RP = Few use: RP-PvE or RP-PvP, or RP-neutral, happy with Questline/raids/Dungeons.

How player can role all types if possible..

Of course many guilds have many own goals.... You know :)

that's why you mix and match. see what this guild wants to do and assign them to it. you cannot force an rp guild to defend the barricades or man the bunkers nor you can force a PvP person to finish quests and story lines to contribute to the faction's economy. let them do what they do best, fit them to the spaces where they can help the faction the most.

Would it be racist for someone in the Daggerfall Covenant to make a Breton/Orc Only Guild? Just wondering.

:( I would feel left out and hated, screw racism! But in actuality I do not believe so at all; each faction has different backgrounds and perks - so maybe they'd be building around those?

This probably wouldn't work, it would be massively chaotic unless you have many individual sections in each of the guilds. To be honest, DC is one big faction isn't it, so why make several big guilds when you could just have one big faction?

Why make a huge guild when everyone can just be in a large conglomerate?? After all, that's mostly what our Covenant already is. Embrace that. Many groups loosely connected under the same banner and name, with their own identities. Simple. Guilds just work together and we're unstoppable.

YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID.

I would refuse this idea for you must divide to conquer guilds work best when they work alone
