Yeah and it looks like the ZOS lore team has struck again and pulled this BS out of their bag of it....The Orcs and the Nords marched to help the Dwemer at the Battle of Red Mountain? I can't find a source for this anywhere, do they think we won't notice stuff like this? I don't get how they are allowed to just make stuff up so that it fits their silly alliances...

Well we found it ....The book "Five Songs of King Wulfharth" alluded to a "secret" Nord/Orc alliance, and the book "Real Nerevar" mentions Nord+Orc+Dunm ....Both of those books mention it in passing so it sort of works I guess. :)

Although it still does not explain why we can't speak to opposing factions in Cyrodiil because if we have had these past alliances between Orcs and Nords how did we then loose our ability to speak to them? Just forgot?

I'm still grasping the background of this world, are strongholds basically like the native american reservations, where as long as you don't leave you're not a problem?

I wonder how you will make the Alik'r Desert come alive. In so many MMOs the deserts are neglected and just full of sand and rocky hills with little to no vegetation, snakes, scorpions and buzzards. Which usually leads to being totally bored in desert zones. How do you plan on making them interesting? – By Lori Brock

The Alik’r Desert has a vibrant ecology, from small critters like lizards up to apex predators such as dunerippers and giant scorpions. And nearly everything in it is either venomous or carnivorous. You won’t be bored – because if you let your guard down, you’ll be dead.

Can not wait for this. I love desert-zones if they're designed well, Khopshef Province in AoC for example was my favourite place to be.

I know I just said something ridiculous for a Nord.

The Orcs have been treated somewhat similar way several times during the history of Tamriel, but in this case stronghold just means the areas they themselves are able to control, even in good times their state of Orsinium has often been little more than a city state.

Nice bit of lore, but not much about the game itself. Hopefully the second part will give us more "meat"(game stuff) beyond the underlying "bones"(lore).

Personally I wish they would quit with all this lore bs and give us some information about actual gameplay....

Big gameplay releases could well be connected to convention appearances by Zenimax Online, and those depend on their progress with the game. Until that they will feed us, but keep the best parts still in the fridge waiting.

The whole point of the Faction AMA is complete lore purposes. If it was only game play, I would imagine the questions would be like "So, khajits. Khajit mages. Does this mean our tails will be inside or outside of our robes?" No depth, no real interest. The game play isn't set in stone, nor even in beta. They wont relay anything that isn't concrete in at least the ideal (I.E Faction combat will happen in Cyrodil, being a siege based system), but they wont give us specifics because it's not concrete.

Anyways, I quite enjoyed this installment, I'm not exactly up to snuff on the lore of everything, so the orc/nord alliance was awesome to me. I also like ESO's orcs. Too many games have given them the visage of being raiders, pillagers, war-like savages with no depth. Hell, even heritage and ranking lacks half the time. "Whys that orc over there better than the rest?" "..We don't really know. He's bigger, I guess." ES has thrown that out the window and made the orcs a more like-able race, kudos.

Not sure if you ever played Dark Age of Camelot but I posted a topic about how the PvP will most likely be like in ESO if you want to check it out...

Not sure about the relevance of this post. I do know about the PvP, you misread what I was pointing out. I'm saying there isn't concrete decisions being told to us via the AMA because nothing they say now is 100% guaranteed, as all these game developers will advertise. That's why AMA are reduced to a certain topic at this point in time, that being the faction's.
