Do you let your character age from time to time with the "showracemenu" option?

If you do so, post your pics here and share it with us!

As for me, I have played through the whole life of my criminal character. To see the story of my character "Bogarius One-Eye" in short: Click "Show Spoiler".

I. 18-25: Young Bogarius breaks free from the gang life in the Imperial City after being cast out of his gang. He travels to Skyrim and starts operating there as a petty criminal.

II. 25-35: After quite a few burglaries, mugging, murders, etc, Bogarius is a notorious criminal and hireable thug and murderer. He maintains a skooma trade and has close ties with the thieves guild. One of the few big crimes he has done is robbing the Markarth Silver-Blood bank and assassinating a member of the Silver-Blood clan. Later in this period he realises he needs protection, a group with whom he can operate. He decides to join the Dark Brotherhood and after a few years he rises through the ranks. Bogarius One-Eye is now the most infamous criminal in Skyrim.

III. 35-46: Cidhna mine for 11 years for an attempt on assassinating the Emperor.

IV. 46-58: Bogarius One-Eye escapes from Cidhna mine. He gets toghether the remaining members of the shattered Dark Brotherhood and goes back on the contract to kill the emperor. He succeeds and afterwards he rebuilds the Brotherhood into the great Assassins guild it once was.

V. 58-64: The Penitus Oculatus and other secret service groups of the Empire are tracking Bogarius down. Bogarius is constantly on the move and has to stay away from the Sanctuary, incase they might discover it and him along with it while tracking him down. He stays in caves and other hideouts and tries to maintain his leadership over the Dark Brotherhood from the temporary hideouts. He managed to do so for a few years though he became more and more disconnected from the Brotherhood and it wasn't long before they were calling for a new leader. Bogarius, who couldn't do much against it was abandoned by his own group.

Bogarius was now on his own. The last few years of his life he spent running from the Empire's secret services. His health was failing him and most of his men got captured and killed one by one. The last man to get caught broke during a torture session and revealed were Bogarius and the last of his loyal companions were. They found the old Bogarius hauled up in an old cabin in the mountains of Solstheim. Bogarius was immediatly captured and taken to the Imperial City. The few men that he had left behind in Skyrim were also caputed and executed in Bruma. Bogarius left the Imperial City as an adolescent, being seen as a big, mean streetrat, and even to the underworld he was seen as a nobody. But he returned as the most wanted criminal in all of Tamriel.

Bogarius One-Eye was executed infront of a massive crowd in the Imperial City in 4E 267.

My character gained over the year: Wrinkles, a broken nose, scars, lost an eye, beard, slightly balded - etc.

Wow! I love this idea. I'm preparing to go back and play the games again. Is it a feature on Skyrim?

Ps, I also love how you changed his hairstyle and beard style from time to time. It makes it look like a very organic, real character.

Thank you, that's my goal while customizing him!

Yes, if you have Skyrim on the pc you just press the: " ` " key to open up your console command box. Type in showracemenu and you will be ableto customize your character again.

That is a very interesting aspect you've added in yourself. I'm really fond of this idea and may try it soon!!

Great work on this very interesting idea. :D If you hate opening the console commands like me, you can always meet the face sculptor in the Dawnguard Expansion, for 1000 gold of course, but that's just a quirk of mine.

When I think about it like that, i probably should have got Skyrim for X-box 360 for the kinect since i hardly use any mods. Hehe I can imagine myself shouting at the kinect.

Another example:

This is the breton Claude Motierre. Member of the rich Motierre family from Daggerfall. He was the son that joined the legion to become a legionaire, but half way there he got hitched on alcohol and finally skooma. He was banned from Imperial Legion.

Claude Motierre went downhill fast. It resulted to him living in the sewers of Riften, making a living of stealing from the people who live above, in the city. From what he sells at the fence of the Ragged Flagon he uses to buy liquor and skooma, or moon sugar.

Claude lives of vegetation that grows down in the sewer, skeever meat and sometimes something that he manages to steal from the markets.

(Note: These are 3 big steps, there have been more steps in between his aging)

Perhaps it's not really related, but I think there were a mod which would add scars and such to your character whenever you were taking damage. I'd would even change character based upon environment and disease.

There is? Hmm, though I do not always want scars.

What do you mean with that last sentence?

I could see myself doing this with Rethas, except I don't have a PC that can game worth a crap, so I'm stuck playing Skyrim on the 360, thus barring me from using console codes.

I have done this however don't have any screenshots of his age progression, intentionally. I may go through my screenshot folder and see what I have.

i did do this on skyrim, like yours my character received some scars and injures, however i made his skin become darker and him look more 'corrupt' because he was a daedra worshipper. It was a lot of fun and i felt more involved with my character, though it was strange when NPC's went 'Shor's bones! a hansom fellow in dragons bridge' when at this point my character was pretty ugly!

If you want to try character aging without the console there's a mod called Project Legacy in the nexus. Haven't tried it myself though so wouldn't know how good it is.

I have played the same dunmer character in Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. Between the two first games I let him age a little – between Oblivion and Skyrim, somewhat more.
