Crafting / Economy

This game is going to be an Elder scrolls game so you can get the best armor and weapons from crafting them at a forge or somewhere like that. In the last games it was extremely easy to obtain these materials and I hope that it will be a lot more challenging in this mmo environment otherwise the economy would be destroyed on launch week.

My question is whether or not the game will have ways for the player to constantly upgrade his armor like in other TES games through shops or using various items which you come across during your journeys. If not, will you be stuck to a certain type for a while or something like that? Also do you think that the developers will introduce new armor types after launch?

It is too early to say, but...

If anyone play Closed Beta, so they are "bonus" who know where to need all thing, so they would make quicker of profession skills...

Short info who is confirmed >

Quote:Crafting, alchemy, and soul stones will all exist in the MMO.

Crafting will play an important role in optimizing the players equipment. Items that drop within the world can be augmented and upgraded by a player crafter. Therefore, the economic and mechanical importance of crafting will remain relevant even at endgame.

ZOS wants to preserve a high degree of interactivity within the world, so crafting, hunting, and gathering resources will be important features of the game’s economic system. The ability to use and interact with mundane objects throughout the world is an important way to connect the game to the Elder Scrolls IP. You will be able to loot crates, barrels, and chests, and harvest resources throughout the world.

No offense Xoo, but please proofread what you type. I can't understand what you're trying to say here.

Np, thank for feedback.

All players get Closed BETA key, so they will learn what/how/where of professions/gather & other thing. So until TESO open the game, so they will make very quicker and be "richer" in short time. Because they have learned from Closed BETA.

Point taken? :)

your view on this is hampered by the fact that so far only ONE TES game let you get the best armors by crafting. while 4 others 1 TES adventure game and 2 mobile TES games didnt let you do that.

and honestly, i doubt that crafting items will ever surpass raiding gear.

im with sordak on this. since they decided to turn this into an mmo i do believe raid and dungeon gears should be far better than crafting at end game. starter gears are used at first. crafted gear for mid level to high level and to farm in dungeons for gears. then dungeon gears/raid gears should be the best. but, since you can upgrade weapons and armors, upgraded dungeon gears, imho should be far superior from their normal counterparts.

I personally loved how SWG had there crafting. I can only hope a system like this would be in TESO but more than likely not. I liked the fact that I could make an item better than other people.... and that they would travel to my vendor to buy it. To be honest it would add more world immersion IMO.

Do you think that there will be as many enchantments as they had in skyrim?

enchanting works different in TESO. its more like gem socketing. you use a soulgem on a weapon: bam enchanted.

a big difference in thew eapon. like stragiht up fire damage as we have it in skyrim is something that actually hardly happens in MMORPG, even tho i would like it alot.

yeah I agree. Hopefully they take into account the Skyrim enchanting system and make it at least somewhat related to it

Don't forget that if you allow weapon improvement through soulgems, you also have to improve armour resistance with other soulgems otherwise it quickly gets unbalanced.

I believe crafting recipes should be found throughout the world every recipe obtained helping to improve your stats. find a recipe in a lvl 30 dungeon means it is useful for lvl 30-35. find a recipe at lvl 50 in a starter dungeon should be the equivalent as the gear u get from killing a boss in the same dungeon. this means all recipes Will be useful and the more u explore the more u Will find. no leveling through pregiven recipes to max out crafting rendoring most of the craftable sh!t skipable and useless

Yeah, I understand now. Thank you for the explination. <3

All players get in the closed beta? I am interested. I want to get into the beta so I know more about what I am doing once the game goes live.

I must also to mean: Limited players to Closed Beta, no guarantee all can get keys.

But so far i mean Closed Beta keys they will get, so the players will learn cases no matter.

I don't know how many players join to the Closed Beta, it is request of number of applications and of course limited... Since TESO want to test how good internet to Mega server from all locations in World. Plus how PC/MAC to set minimum / recommended. Plus how many and join pvp battles. It is many issues who TESO need to check out before Open Beta (shorter period) and ready to play TESO.
