New small update on the official site:

http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/po...the-dreugh

Today, we’re taking you behind-the-scenes for a first look at how we’ve created the dreugh—one of the formidable monsters you’ll face in The Elder Scrolls Online.

Meet the dreugh, a creature that some of you may recognize from previous Elder Scrolls games, including Morrowind and Oblivion. In The Elder Scrolls Online, members of the Ebonheart Pact will first encounter dreugh in Morrowind’s Stonefalls region.

Very nice, thank you for this link and the other info on the linked page. I will check this discussion out at Facebook as well.

TESO - - Multiplayer: "M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you." M'aiq the Liar.

"Va Khaj Dar - Khajiity's united? M'aiq will join!" M'aiq the Liar

I was very impressed by the fluidity of the Dreugh. Even him standing still his mandible and breathing are very noticeable, and like I've mentioned in many threads.. I love immersion, and it will be a huge key success for TESO. His attack animations looked very nice too. It's a step-up from the usual monster variances. Can't tell you how many games I've seen monsters have these extra arms or appendages and only use it like once every 30 seconds if a boss, or maybe once a fight if they're lucky as a regular mob.

Oh no Lilly dont do that, TESO Facebook is wretched thing, it will burn "is it coming to consoles?" into your brain

Model is very nice, Boethias ass, even scarry in the hacking part. Seems they are indeed finishing Ebonheart part and should be moving onto Aldmeri soo

Hello everyone. Getting tiered from studying for my Latin and Geometry finals i decided to look at the new info released for the Dreugh. I shall brake down the video and info given to us so that we can see what new info they have given us.

If you have not already, go and check out this post. http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en/new...the-dreugh

Now then lets look at what this tells us in it self. We gain further information about the lore of the Dreugh in this post. We also learn the npc creation process. The most interesting thing i found in the post are thus

"The dreugh have two distinct morphologies: The Water Dreugh and the Land Dreugh. Dreugh evolve into Land Dreugh at a period in their lifecycle called Karvinasim, where they grow legs and spend about a year on dry land. Dreugh are primarily found in the eastern areas of Tamriel, but can likely also be found anywhere coastal. Land Dreugh can be found as far inland as Cyrodiil." and "Dreugh, according to legend, were once more intelligent and civilized than they are presently."

As we see above there are two forms of the Dreugh. A land and aquatic dreugh. We can also see that there are hints as to a higher level intelligence than the average wild life.

"Here’s what one variation of the dreugh looks like now, in The Elder Scrolls Online."

This is a very interesting statement made. This can mean that both the aquatic and land form are going to be in ESO. Or it may mean something much more grand (and also mean the previously stated). However i will get back to this point later on in the post.

Now lets look into the video that goes along with this post. If you haven't seen it already here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz9ZqrDmD...detailpage

I have taken a few frames from the video and shall now review those frames, which i think, carry the most important information. Note that i put them under spoilers so that they don't take up a lot of space when you aren't looking at them.

[Image: Snapshot+3+%2812-17-2012+10-11+PM%29.png]

Note the other Dreugh on the right hand side in the water. Also take note that the Dreugh seem to have a hard exoskeleton. Could this mean they have a high melee resistance?

[Image: Snapshot+4+%2812-17-2012+10-12+PM%29.png]

We can see that this is a different model form the first Dreugh. Besides from their different skin color, their eyes are also different. Note also the 2 other Dreughs in the photo. They are in the top left and near middle right. Could this mean that they hunt/ roam around in packs of 2-3. We will have to wait and see. As i said earlier i am now continuing a previous comment on the information given to us. As we see in the previous two pictures, they have shown us 2 different versions of the Dreugh. Could the variations of the Dreugh be subspecies? Or maybe it means that the further in the game you get, the more evolved the mobs around you are?

[Image: Snapshot+5+%2812-17-2012+10-13+PM%29.png]

As we see here the side of a mountain is being blown apart. Is this a trap? Is it a random occurrence? Or maybe it is the beginning of a dungeon? Is it part of a quest? We do not have enough information at the time to know why this is happening.

[Image: Snapshot+2+%2812-17-2012+10-11+PM%29.png]

There is much shown here of interest. First lets start with the Dreugh. As you can tell it is in combat and is attacking the player. We can see it glowing red signifying that it is in combat/ is aggressive towards you and will attack. Now lets look at the player. We can assume that he is a Nord for they mentioned in their post that the Ebonheart Pack will be the first to encounter this creature. Further we know where they will first meat, which is in Morrowind’s Stonefalls region. Now lets look at the combat taking place in the video. In the image above we can see that they are clearly in combat. The Dreugh has just hit the Nord. It also appears that not only is he taking melee damage but also electric damage as well. We can also see that, even while he is attacking, he is readying himself for another attack. This shows us just how fast based the combat is going to be. No longer are we going to see the standard MMO 1 attack every 3-4 seconds. Now we are going to see it at a much faster base, probably 1-2 attacks every second. It also appears as though when the players character gets hit he takes a step back, and also the Dreugh takes a step ahead to keep in constant striking range.

[Image: Snapshot+1+%2812-17-2012+10-10+PM%29.png]

Yet again they bombard us with information very quickly. In this image we can see further information about the player. He is duel wielding two swords. He also appears to be in medium class leather armor. However, his gauntlets appear to be heavy class mail armor. We can also see two brand new models for swords that can be used in game. We can see that the player was attacked with a powerful attack and was hit backwards a few yards (i have no idea how this would be said in metric so if someone dose please leave a comment so that i can put that in the post). As you will notice the Dreugh is no longer highlighted red. I can think of two reasons for this. One reason is that the player has died and thus making the Dreugh no longer highlighted. Or (which i find more plausible) it is in a animation sequence, that we are all familiar with from Skyrim.

One last thing i wish for you to notice is the fluid movements of both the player and Druegh. As the Dreugh is standing still, and moving we can see its whole body move (when standing still breathing, while moving it is the movement of walking shown). Also the fluid movements of its body in combat, and how this makes it look more realistic. Also the players fluid movements of being hit in combat make it look like he is actually getting hit.

And thus i conclude my analysis of the video and post. If you see something i left out please leave a comment so that i can look to verify it and put it in my post.

I am the shadow within a shadow. I will accept any job; however I will execute the target, or maybe even the person who hired me; it all depends on who has the most gold to give. Even then you can not trust me to let you walk away with your life.

I'm more interested in the water dreugh, hope they'll re-allow water combat for those not like skyrim where you just are a target for all watermobs
loved that cute squidface it had in morrowind

Ok, we don't need 4 topics for the Dreugh. Merged.

Continue, thanks!

Now, all we need is a good crafting system to turn that thing into a nice piece of armor!
