Curious Question.
Are their Going to be Daedric Artifacts in TESO?

Probably, yes. You'll probably be able to do quests for the Princes and get their artifacts. That'll be cool.

No. Atleast they won´t be in the hands of the players. Wouldn´t make hardly sense hundreds of players wield the mace of Molag Bal ;)

So you see, there won´t be the artifacts like in the other games, known from the Daedra quest.

Although I can´t imagine they won´t be in the game. E.g. I can think of something like a Ebonheart Quest where you have to get Azura´s Star back from a pack of thieves. Or something like Malacath wants you to defeat a Volendrung wielding champion, but then he says, you are unworthy!, and makes it disapear.

So I think there will be quests related to them, though you never get them. I do like such concept anyway much more than just handing out the badass mystical objects to players. They loose any magic and mystery, when the super duper Mace of Molag Bal turns out to be make less damage then the weapon you already posses ;).

So I say:

Daedric artifacts are for NPC!

Who controls the Septim crown?
Who keeps the Allesian Heresy down?
We do, we do

Who knocked Yokuda off the maps?
Who keeps the Dwemer under wraps?
We do, we do

Well we don't know for certain so anything anyone says at the moment is pure speculation. I would be surprised if there are not Daedric artifacts of some sort in ESO.

They don't have to be OP, they can make them however they want to make them. Maybe at the end of the Daedric quest you get a Daedric item but all its for is decoration for your house and you can't use it

Or the Daedric item allows a crafter to learn something from it and now that crafter can make something that is semi unique from what they learned by examination of the Daedric item.

There are a whole host of avenues they could go down with Daedric items and to say no they won't be in at this point is pure speculation, just like me saying yes they will be in.

In a fan-made video it was stated that when you get inside a dungeon, you will learn about the legends of the place and its legendary weapons and armors worn by legendary fighters or creatures and all this legendary atmosphere is going to give you super duper legendary experience, weapons and armors...yes, the armors I mentioned before, which are going to be rare and powerful and...badass! So who needs unique Daedric weapons when we're going to find legendary ancestral weapons of power and might?

The reason we need Daedric items in ESO is because they have been a part of Elder Scrolls games for as long as I can remember. So not having them at all in ESO is kind of a lore problem...

What about a system that gives artifacts based on leader boards? So highest overall score gets to be emperor, but highest kills get say Mace of Molag Bal, highest K/D gets Saviors Hide, highest magic kills gets wabajack, etc...

The thing is if I am at the top of the leader board in PvP, and then they give me some all powerful daedric weapon, this allows me to stay at the top with little or no effort and I don't think this is a good idea for that reason.

It wouldn't be a super OP boost, just a slight one, and it would make you a target if you do use the piece.

(And if they manage to collect all pieces? All those slight boosts accumulate into something entirely different.)

In my idea, you would only be able to have one. However, even if someone could have multiple, you know how much of a target they would be? Personally every time I saw them I would put all focus on them, and get everyone around me to do so.

(You've got a point. But what of single, 1v1 battles? Not that that would be too common, but still?)

Well if you randomly meet them, you might be a shit outta luck, but they're not impossible to kill. I'm not suggesting making the weapons game breaking, just a slight boost to whatever is relevant to the weapon. Honestly, I normally make an enchanted sword that's better than any Daedric artifact. If anything, we might need to worry about them being under powered for what they are: a weapon (and armor) of a god.

(Truth be told, Daedric artifacts aren't *essential* to the game in respect to the player be able to actually wield them, among other things.

Just give 'em to the NPCs of the questlines.)

No not essential, but think about how cool it would be to be able to say: I topped the leader boards, and I was able to run around with wabajack turning people into bunnies (I made that up, although if done right wabajack would be great fun.). Honestly though, the idea is about bragging rights.
