So Blizzard just announced the next WoW expansion. WoW: Warlords of Draenor. It looks pretty neat. Some of the announced features include;

-Explore a Savage World: Explore the hostile world of Draenor, home of the orc and draenei races, as it once existed, and adventure in all-new zones alongside characters central to Warcraft history.

-Build Your Garrison: Construct, command, and expand your own customizable stronghold on Draenor, and gather NPC followers to collect resources and embark on missions on your orders.

-Instantly Upgrade to Level 90: Boost one character of your choosing to be ready to adventure on Draenor, making it easier than ever to enjoy the latest content alongside your friends.

-New Player Character Art: Character models and animations for many of World of Warcraft’s existing playable races are being fully revamped in keeping with the game’s iconically epic style.

-Adventure to Level 100: Reach new heights of power and unlock bonuses to further enhance your abilities on your way to the new level cap of 100.

…And More: Take on a wide array of Dungeons, Raids, Scenarios, Battlegrounds, Challenge Modes, and more—no matter what kind of content you enjoy, new adventures await.

(quoted from GameSpot)

I think its easy to say this is going too be big, and definitely a huge overhaul for WoW, but now I have the dilemma. I've been looking for a reason to actually pay my WoW subscription and this definitely seems like it. but ESO is going to be so fresh and new, not to mention set in an amazing universe, that I dont know what too do.

I personally haven't played WoW but from what I've seen of it I'd say it's not dead.

I'm usually pretty good and playing multiple new games that have been released around the same time though I'm not sure it's so simple with MMO's given the guilds and all.

I gave up on WoW at the end of Burning Crusade.
This post tripped me out.
Instant level 90... so, they take the game out of your game so you can play endgame right away.
That sounds like something WoW folks would appreciate.

Build your own fortress... and all that overdone action scifi industrial fantasy setting...

I think Draenor is a continent on WILDSTAR (Wildstar online) ;)

Well, it would have been better for WoW, if they had such a feature before someone else had it, combined with a decent graphic. Now WoW is just sorta 'me-too'. It sucks not being the first...

But what do I care? WoW is dead. I´m still hopefull they realize their mistake and screw it, in favor of Warcraft 4. ;)

Who knocked Yokuda off the maps?

I've played WoW for 5 years. I've invested a lot of time in my main character (gnome mage). I've had so many experiences and I've made so many friends that I'm sure I'll come back to WoW just for the sake of saying hi and satisfying my nostalgiafeeling. I reckon I will just play up to level 100 and be done with it again :)

I've played WoW sporadically, I guess. I had my first few months of subs about two weeks after WotLK came out, played to 80 and raided a bit with friends. The game just could not keep my attention, mostly because despite all the lore (molested with every expansion, may I add) it just feels stale. I've played it on and off, having a month of sub here and there, but after having bought Cataclysm I swore I'd never give Blizzard a single dime again (I still think my 30eu for the GW trilogy was a better investment than the 35eu that I spent on Cataclysm). When they announced MoP, I just went: "Well, glad I'm not invested in that anymore". This new expansion....well. The one thing that's nice is that they are updating the models, I know a lot of people were waiting for that. As for the story/lore, it's once again a case of "um...dafuq? Okay?".

Don't get me wrong. I know a lot of people love that game, and it's successful for a reason. I'm just not a fan of their inconsistancy when it comes to their story, and to counter that, their very consistant habit of throwing out a patch every few months that makes you speedrun some endgame-content to get the best purples, just to sit on your ass waiting until the next patch hits that will give a new tier which will make all the stuff you previously ran instances for completely obsolete. That game is such rinse and repeat, it's lazy and I dislike it.

I've said it before and I will always say it: WoW is like McDonalds and will therefore always have customers. I'll personally just go for my favourite restaurant a few streets away ;)

And this, ladies and gentlemen is why I do not understand PvE MMORPGs.

And if WoW equals McDonalds, I prefer proper steakhouses.

And to be quite honest, that expansion sounds like they are trying to fix their errors from the start (About not making that game a real warcraft) by slowly morphing the content to resemble somewhat of a siege MMORPG.

Never played WoW, and never would've cared for it. But when an MMO offers an "insta-cap"/"insta-level", that tells me the devs know their game is dead beyond repair.
