Day and Night Cycle

Does anyone know how time will pass in TESO? Will it have day and night or go based of a specific time zone? I have been wondering because I feel that a Day and Night cycle like this would add to the game even if time went by faster than in real life. If anyone has heard anything about this I would love to know. Thanks!

id expect it to work like in skyrim, as in that it runs faster than in real life.

This makes the most sense to me.

All I know is that the day/night cycles are confirmed. I'd like to hear confirmation on the above as well.

Okay, that is good! I'm happy that things like that are in the game. It makes it feel more like an Elder Scrolls game.

But it's going to be a single mega serverl, doesn't that mean that (unless it's faster time in-game) half the world players will be playing in the wrong time? If TESO follows EST for example it'll be five hours earlier in central Europe, meaning that lots of people who are playing during midday where they live will be logged in during nighttime in the game.

Of course, this is not an issue if the game time is faster than real time.


If an argonian turned into a werecrocodile would there be any difference in appearance? Like, at all?

it will most likeley be faster time ingame, thats how it worked in all TES games and in most other MMORPGs.

would love some Snow also, maybe some major storms, not just a little rain.
maybe something that will cut down visibility which will effect pvp. Winking_grinning

I hope that the night times actually feel like night. Some MMO's don't really distinguish the cycles well with nothing but a darker sky and some lights on. I hope you see the random NPCs going to sleep and guards patrolling the towns with torches, maybe different mobs coming out at night and more dynamic encounters with places like bandit camps where you could play more stealthy.

while id like that too, i wouldnt count on it. anything more than skyrim is unlikeley. the thing is. its an mmo so a night and day cycle shouldnt actually HINDER gameplay.
its sad but true.
