One thing I really want to see, read and hear more about is character creation. Call me a typical girl but one of my major gripes in a lot of games is bad character customisation - the MMO-genre has developed so much these past years that I personally think companies can't pull a "we kept it simple" anymore. People love sliders, people love creating something unique (as long as it stays within the realistic boundaries - no one wants to see the spiderlike blue-haired beings that were commonplace in games like Aion *shudder*).

I heard the character creation so far is "robust" and uses the triangle-icon to adjust how face and bodytype look. I hope this will expand, considering they're still pre-alpha there's plenty of time to implement more options.

Game balance reasons aside, moving while crouched can get really, really tiresome

I'm in the same boat. One of the articles said that they will add more options before release, and it is pre-alpha after all. They already changed character proportions from the last build in june, so it's something they seem to be actively working on.

Well what is a game, MMO especially without a good character customisation? I usually spend hours trying to get the perfect character only to delete him/her later on and go back to the beginning to remake him/her. Worst case scenario we'll all look the same except for the hair color.

I'm the same, I can spend ages in creation, it's fun as long as you have neat tools available!

Another game that did the triangle-slider was Rift. I spent forever creating my High Elf, thinking I got something unique, but the downside of creators like that is no matter how you tweak, everyone ends up looking the same, especially from a distance. I hope this won't be the case, it'd be a shame.

yeah the triangle slider is definitley only something for body weight, it has nothing to add on a character face. Honestly id be disapointed if they wouldnt have proper Skyrim style customization, even DAOC had more than we got right now.

This I couldn't agree more with. Seriously, I don't play games were I can't stand looking at my characters. They don't have to be supermodels, hell I prefer when I can make non-supermodel characters, but there have to be customization choices and a LOT of them. Simply telling customers they are going to be forced to look like every other character is a VERY poor decision in today's gaming environment.

You know, that's kind of the thing - games that don't offer a wide choice often end up too much on the "supermodel", or at least stereotypical side. Offering more choice lets us break from that, which is always a nice thing to have available - maybe I don't want my characters to look beautiful (or handsome, as the case may be), or even horribly ugly, but just... average. There's more uniqueness in being normal, sometimes, than in being out on the edges. To mangle Tolstoy, every beautiful person looks the same (it seems) (okay, that's an exaggeration, but you know what I mean), but every average person is average in their own way. ;)

Count only the happy hours.

RPGSite.net lists the developer as Bethesda and the publisher as Zenimax Online. That's not cool.
