I was extremely exited about ESO pvp because the game mechanics are insane. But without BG'S, Arenas, and duels I will not be playing ESO, after paying 80 dollars for the imperial edition and trying out pvp when i hit 10 i was extremely disappointed and bored in pvp.... and i love pvp! I am all about PVP i play the game to pvp. I play every MMO game to pvp only. PVE is not a challenge to me, its boring, eventually its all about learning fights, and rotations... Yawn. and that means its not that fun to me. I am a highly competitive person, Beating a dungeon does nothing for me. The current pvp is way too big, if it did not make me lag very badly i would still not like it because i feel like i do not make a difference on if my team wins or loses. You could stand there afk or do the most you possible could and not make a difference on who wins. Its all about who can play the most. Which i cant play as much as some people so i automatically lose. ESO's game mechanics are completely wasted if they don't make competitive pvp. And truly i find myself wondering how nobody out of all the people involved in making this game didn't think this as well. And why they are not trying to implement BG's Arenas and duels into this game. Only thing that makes sense to me is that ESO was a cash grab game and i really hope that is not true. Bottom line is They could easily make BG'S, Arenas, and Duels possible so why not do it? And i know A lot of die hard non competitive PVE players are gonna argue with this post. But die hard competitive pvp players are like yep, this dude took the words off my fingers. Please all my pvp brothers spread the word on the forums about this! We need ESO competitive pvp. It would make them billions of dollars extra in revenue if they did i guarantee it.
Don't get me wrong ESO is a good game, But it could be superior.

I have no clue what bg is but they will prob add arena in the future cause the already discussed having horse racing so its possible they will add new interesting things.

I wonder if he's talking about Baldur's Gate. I know, it threw me too. Maybe he mis-punctuated the sentence, leading you to believe that BG and arenas were two different things, when in fact he means BG arenas.

Crappy satellite Internet very laggy pings 700-1000 not god for gaming, can't play most online games but ESO works good enough.

I can agree on the dueling, sometimes people want to measure their...you know...and the easiest and quickest way would be to allow them to whip out their...swords and duke it out. Arenas, i could see that in the lore and would be interesting. But for the most part isnt Cyrodiil one giant battle ground though?

Another ESO nay sayer. Where do these guys come from and what on earth is their agenda? I'm assuming most people on this site actually have the game and see straight through your BS. Arenas WOULD be duels, so there would only be need for one (and I agree, a possibility for future content). BG, I assume he means battlegrounds, makes ZERO SENSE. Cyrodiil is one giant battleground. There is something for everyone. Either massive sieges and zerg vs. zerg or on the outskirts you can find small group PVP. I've done both. This games PVP is vastly superior to any other. If you feel like you can't make a difference learn to PVP. My group of clan members, typically only 3-4 of us, have successfully defended multiple castles through clever use of burning pitch+ murder hole, ballistas, trebuchets, etc.

Fail troll.

yep, well stated ...

'BG" means Battlegrounds - PVP scenarios, which is sort of what Cyrodiil is - it's argued that Cyrodiil IS a battleground, and that's fair enough - but i can see other side also ...

how dueling was left out is beyond me ... want to learn lots about PVP really quick ? go to the dueling area of a town, where 'they' hang out, and get your ass kicked for a few hours - good peeps will help you out - you will learn your strengths and weaknesses vs other classes/specs/etc ... it serves a basic and somewhat important function ... Arena, one might say, is Dueling x 10 - it's great fun ...

am uncertain about this game - it missing something somewhere ... will be 50 in the next 2-3 days, loved PVP and have had my fill ... PVE seems a chore to replay ... its just missing something ...

back in the day, on a PVP server, here u are questing at lvl 20-something and some bad guy 40's come riding by, and to them you are just a piece of chicken on a stick - after they gank you in one hit, and after you have run back to your dead body, hoping they got bored and left, your feelings of dread and hatred are palpable ... later, when you yourself are a big boy, when in PVP, you WANT THOSE MOFO'S DIGITAL HEADS ON A GOLDEN PLATTER- TODAY - NOW ....

there was some soul there - it was fun ...

to this day, i can remember the SPECIFIC NAMES of 2 nemesis i had, a rogue and a warlock - that was like 5-6 years ago ... in ESO i cant remember what happened yesterday ...

its just not the same experience ...

'BG" means Battle Ground, or PVP senarios, which is sort of, kinda what ESO has but not really - it could be argued it is, i wouldn't stop you ...

I agree that lack of dueling is ridiculous. Just the raw /duel function so you can see who's the best tavern brawler of your friends seems like an essential function for todays MMORPG. It doesn't require any nifty arenas or anything, just the ability to fight your friends.

And I am in agreement the PvP lacks something, but that's primarily because myself I enjoy risk vs. reward- based PvP. What's the point of claiming a keep right now, other than having your name on it? It's the same as carving your name on your favorite bar stool at your local bar, it serves no real meaning. Some are more than satisfied with this, but personally I dislike the idea of not actually being capable of losing anything in PvP. Even having, let's say class trainers inside the keeps would make it more interesting. Want to morph those end-game abilities? Well too bad, as you don't own that 3rd keep, you cannot access your classes Master trainer, so you can't morph it. Want your last werewolf trait? Own that bridge, of which underneath lies the Master Werewolf trainer. High-end crafting stations, ANYTHING you could "lose" or "not having access to" would be worthwhile. Darkness Falls would be a good example as well. Myself? I want character death to really hurt, this would translate sieges to more interesting scenario, as now people just smack forward camps and zerg. Are you sieging something? You certainly wouldn't charge in if it meant losing 10% of your pocket money the second you die. You'd stay near the siege engines bombarding the city, capturing the resources to starve them, and once the city is weak, you'd then charge, for in this scenario you have the possibility to live to another day.
