What are some of your favorite games? Obviously other than anything within the TES series.

When I was living in Japan, I was really into Pokemon. Don't make fun of me, but I loved that series. I still like the games, but I can't say I've played any past... I think it was Diamond? I'm not even sure.

Other than that, I do have quite a strong passion for RPGs in general. Final Fantasy, Breath of Fire, Star Ocean, Lunar, Tales of... Amongst many others. I could just keep listing a bunch of games I love, but you'd get bored, haha.

I was a really heavy Pokémon player myself. I had my own quite successful website (we had the best German Pokédex for some time) as well. However, I lost interest after, I think, Diamon and Pearl, because I just couldn't keep up with all the new Pokémon that didn't really appeal to me. I still think Gold and Silver were the best editions I ever played, but maybe that's just nostalgia. That intro with Ho-oh almost makes me cry, lol.

Other than that I played Ragnarok Online most of the time, of which I have probably the fondest memories of all games I played. However it aged terribly, and after the Renewal update I hate to say that it lost all of its charm.

I like the RPG genre itself, but I can't think of any actual games that kept me as interested as TES. Currently I'm super-excited for Darksiders 2, which has even more RPG elements that the first one.

Oh, and I play Super Street Fighter 4 quite frequently with some friends. I'm quite new to the fighting game genre, but I'm having a blast. Currently my favourite chars are Guy and Rose, but I played most at one time or another.

Welp... Morrowind. But seriously try Wizardry 8 you can probably easily pirate it by now.

Its a very oldschool party based first person RPG, but it has a nice little Sci Fi setting (youre playing a party of medieval warriors tho, and you have no idea whats going on.

Im also taking a liking in Rune, Savage, DotA and Guild Wars 2.

I must however admit i mostly play DotA 2 these days.

I'm a rather picky gamer. Besides The Witcher Series, most of BioWare's games, and obviously BGS's games, I really don't branch out much as most games just don't seem worth the money.

As far as MMORPGs are concerned, Star Wars Galaxies will likely always be my favorite as a sandbox MMO set in the Star Wars universe was almost flawless in my opinion. The only downside was ultimately incompetence on SOE's part (thankfully they aren't developing ESO).

I do enjoy other games that aren't RPGs though such as Battlefield 3, Dead Space, Batman: Arkham Asylum/City, Saint's Row, etc. I generally stick to western games at this point as I have lost interest in most eastern games or companies such as Sony and Nintendo.

Morrowind is one of my most played games in my life. And the one I love the most.
I will also say Doom ...
Total War series (Specially Rome and Medieval II )
Tycoon Transport Deluxe... damn so simple and I love that game.
Diablo series (heh just for the massive butchery)

And that´s it.

I've prepurchased GW2 and I've played WoW until the community and lore both made me want to pull out my hair and set a certain Metzen on fire. Those two aside, I'm a big, BIG fan of the Mass Effect series. It's the only game outside of The Elder Scrolls that I can replay just after completing it the first time. garrus is the best and should be the canon love interest

I also like playing Dragon Age: Origins, and sometimes when the mood strikes me, Portal/Portal 2.

I don't like the current direction Bioware has taken, but I'd say that's more to do with EA than Bioware itself.

I just dont like their Characters, i dont like their original IPs. Cause honestly, Dragon Age is NOT Dark Fantasy. Warhammer is, Dark Souls is and the original Heavy Metal was. But Dragon Age is not.

And i generaly dont like how they claim to be the only ones doing Character development right, even if they are, in my eyes, not doing that in any way id like it.

I'd say Bioware is pretty damned good with character development - moreso than other aspects - but I do get what you mean, they're by no means the only good ones out there, and a lot of the time they just can't get it right. I mean, how many times have they tried to make a paladin before getting it right?

Though I would say that Dragon Age (at least DAO) has dark fantasy elements, especially when you consider the Broodmothers and how they're made. Yuck.

I think the reason many have an issue with DAO is the fact it was a little too generic. The game didn't really feel like it had an identity of its own, and I felt DA2 was their attempt at rectifying that.

Unfortunately, DA2 was a disappointment and a terribly executed game. I still believe the Dragon Age franchise has a chance to develop and grow, but BioWare can't afford to make mistakes.

I am concerned for BioWare though. There are so many horror stories of truly talented game developers being destroyed by the corporate and business side of things due to merges with big 3rd party publishers, like EA. Hopefully they won't follow the same path, but disappointments with DA2 and SWTOR certainly don't bold well in their favor.

DAO was a good game, but like Redguard King said, it felt generic. I don't know what it was about the game, but I can't even recall most of it, and I must have put a lot of hours into it. Dragon Age 2 felt like a step in the right direction, but I can't really comment on it because I only played the demo. Which was pretty fun for what it was.

BioWare games have always been some of my favorites though. Especially Jade Empire for the Xbox. I must have played through that game a dozen times - it just felt, at the time, so innovative to me.

Yep I agree. DA2 style-wise was a step in the right direction, but the overall story and plot were just disappointing and poorly executed. BioWare claimed the game would span a time period of ten years and the player would literally see their choices change the entire landscape.

Instead, one didn't even feel like time was passing as each main mission would cause a few years to pass and you would stay in the same city with the same environments throughout the entire game. They were pushing for a dynamic and organic environment. It ended up feeling static with limited exploration and only a few areas.

Even most of the dungeons themselves were cookie cutter and it just felt like the game itself was rushed. BioWare would have been better keeping their traditional model of story-telling having the player go to three different areas to progress the main story and leaving the combat alone, which they turned into a mindless button mash from a strategic turn-based game.

BioWare is working on DA3 now though, which is rumored to be using the Frostbite 2 Engine (famously used to run Battlefield 3). We'll see how things turn out though. Ever since KotOR back in 2003, I have been a huge fan of almost every BioWare game and IP they create so I have hope they can turn this around.

I know Jade Empire, but that was the time when they still had something going for them.
I did dispise both Dragon Age and Mass Effect with a passion.

But i think RPGs might just not be something for me. As TES is the only modern RPG series wich i respect, and other than that i mostly play competetive multiplayer games.

Pretty much all of the Black Isle/Interplay games can go on my list.
Baldur's Gate Series, Planescape Torment (probably my all time favourite game), Icewind Dale Series, Fallout Series.
Later years much of what Bioware put out although I didn't personally like the Dragon Age series.
Knights of the Old Republic series and Mass Effect series.

Recently I just finished playing Legend of Grimrock which I have to say was a REALLY good game! I'm still now playing it.
