Well, Im hoping that, as the Guilds we know (Mages, Fighters, etc) we will be able to join, or at least gain reputation and ranks in the Great Houses of Morrowind ( Redoran, Telvanni, Hlaalu, Dres and Indoril ).
Do you think the developers will include them in the game, or it will be a non playable faction?

I know, its just speculation, but I want to know your toughts!

Well certainly the guilds that have influence all around Tamriel will play a role (Mages, Fighters, Dark Brotherhood, Thieves). As far as the Great Houses of Morrowind and anything that local, they'll likely be in the game but I wouldn't know if you could actually join them. Perhaps they could be relevant to some side quest for those who are Dunmer or part of the Ebonheart Pact.

It's really hard to tell as we really don't know much in regards to specifics. Anything is possible. I do believe it's safe to say ZOS wants players to focus on their primary factions such as the Ebonheart Pact, Daggerfall Convenant, and Aldmeri Dominion for the most part. Anything else would merely be secondary and I'm not sure would have much relevance.

i agree with Redguard King.

I guess we could do quests for them tho. I already mentioned my idea about founding Ald Ruhn as part of a questline. But thats about all i want from that. I can see it beeing content of future Addons tho. I like Morrowind, but the houses are, in my opinion, the most boring part about the province.

Even if i must say i like the dune vibe im getting from some of them.

Well, of course, if they are not joineable, they can be made as a player´s guild. The problem with a player guild in that regard, is that you may have 3 house telvanni, 4 house redoran, etc.
May be the great house model is used to gain reputation with them, for items or such ? I think is very WoWish as far as what I´ve seen of that game, but could be the solution. And of course, you will never reach the maximum rank as in the SP games, just a middle to high rank, and it should be VERY hard to achieve.
The idea of funding Ald ruhn is nice! But Lore-Wise I think ald ruhn was already founded by this time, is an old city.
Take in account, that cities like Suran were born in the middle of the 1st Era.
Cities as Balmora too, in fact, in Balmora the Tribunal were reunited during the last year of the first era (They say that in the book).

Ive once read Ald Ruhn was foundet in the second era.

My idea was that you fight, at the end of a quest chain. a Giant Emporer Crab. And then you turn it into Ald ruhn. WIN.

I like your idea! I like very much. I will search for the date or aproximation of the city foundation to see if it fits.
If it does, should be great.

Still in this time, the Redoran capital is Black Light , in the northern coast, close to Skyrim border

Hm according to this article (wich I dont fully trust)

Ald Ruhn

Ald Ruhn was founded early in the first era, even before the War of the First Council... and even before of Black Light!
So I dont know.

I don't know how the rest of you would feel about this, but I forsee in the future of this game a "Caverns of Time" style system that allows players to participate in some of the badass battles of history that are too far from the time period of the game, such as the war of the first council's battle under red mountain, killing an emperor crab at Ald'Ruhn, etc.

The lore buffs may not be thrilled with such cavalier time travel, but I would not be in the least surprised if ZOS wanted to capitalize on some of these historic events in some way.

You should look up the Camlorn quest line that they have already revealed from the game... it features time travel.

One thing is ONE event, like a dragon break event. Another thing is massive people traveling one time and another to different places in time. Thats different.

It would be nice if they used a system like EVE Onlines standings system.

Each factions has corporations as its members (in this case guilds and houses) running missions (questing) for those corporations grants you a standings increase for a successful completion.

Standings range from -10.0 to + 10.0
The better standings grant you rewards and access to things you couldn't gain other wise, but you rend to lose standings with their rivals by doing this.

Turelus, that system would be VERY accurate to use with the great houses... they will make them very competitive... as they were in lore! I like.

you know going back in time to kill the emporer crab would be AWSOME. i want that. right now.

In other news: yeah, that faction system would be nice, but i doubt well get it in for the houses as of yet. I can however see it happening in a Vvaderfell themed expansion (as most of vvaderfell prolly wont be in the game anyway
