Of course we all know about the great battle zone of Cyrodiil, where the factions battle fiercly for strongholds. That is one part of TESO story.

But how about Molag Bal? Will there be somethings like Oblivion gates leading to Cold Harbour? Will the different faction have to work with each other there?

I would like to have a fragile cease-fire there.

Who knows something about that?

Who controls the Septim crown?
Who keeps the Allesian Heresy down?
We do, we do

Who knocked Yokuda off the maps?
Who keeps the Dwemer under wraps?
We do, we do

I certainly can see plans of Oblivion as a future patch or something similar, but I'm already so happy with ESO's release, thus additional content like that seems SO unlikely at launch. TES wants to please it's devoted following as well as people who just enter into Elder Scrolls so bringing in good points from the console games only makes sense. It certainly makes for some great loot. :P

Since I'm not so sure if we can kill daedric princes, I'm sure they can certainly send their minions after us, like in Dragonborn. I can imagine a long quest line where in an attempt to attack Molag Bal we attack the higher minions of the various daedra who may support his cause or benefit from it. Though elite loot like in the console games is either not going to be available at all or only in epic raids in accordance with the value of such item(s).

Yeah, we don't really know anything about this however having played Dark Age of Camelot for about 5 years and for mostly all of its beta I can say that Matt Firor does not believe in any cooperation between the factions, NONE. So having some sort or fragile or even a strong cease fire against anything in PvE is highly unlikely.

Faction loyalty foremost again?

I hope we don't see a ceasefire. I'm all for the story line elements of say an Altmer rebel who was cast from Valenwood saves an Argonian and they're suddenly BFF. But that's too complicated to allow in a game for balancing reasons. As a whole, I don't want to see faction blending story elements. I would like a few multi-faction buddy system conveniences, but faction identity is a HUGE element, and tampering with it can make or break the immersion of the game.

WoW showed us this early on with faction hatred being pretty strong, but expansions dwindling it into "Hey orc buddy that I hated before Arthas came along, let's kill this big baddie!", and then we're supposed to assume that they want to kill each other afterwards, but they all learned to get along. When in reality a faction like the Argent Crusade allowing all walks of life was awesome.. but if you weren't a member of them, I.E Variann Wrynn, or Vol'jin, you should want to spill the blood of the enemy.

This holds especially true in ESO, simply because if you look at the war, it's NOT racial tension. I'm not say that races liked each other, but it's all factions pitting against each other for the throne, it has nothing to do with "we hate high elves, and wood elves, let's kill them all!". It's a case of "The Aldmeri Dominion is our rivals, we shall see to it that we kill them to secure the throne.", this is displayed by the Ebonheart Pact especially, being a faction of races who pretty much hate each other.

Again, If we allow races who act independently from their faction (a Dark elf who really likes sunshine, and hates Dunmer oppression) finding his way into Valenwood and becoming a lonely hunter with some love-struck she-khajit who is far from home, and they face the world together, but really have no impact on the story.

However, if I'm an Altmer and come across 30 Nord generals in my questing experience trying to tell me what to do, I, along with many others, will be VERY displeased.

The end of Molag Bal will, maybe, pronounce the coming of an expansion, in which, as we can see, the factions may get along with each other and a new enemy will come to destroy the Nirn world again...
I do really know nothing, so I'm just guessing how could the story of the expansions and Tamriel may follow...but I think it's too early to talk about expansions...it is better to just be patient to see how the attack of Molag Bal is going to end, if it's going to end.

I am not the one who is so faction loyal that I think we can not interact and RP with each other, however I was just saying Matt is against it, or at least he was back in the days I was in DAoC beta.
