First of all we would like to thank everyone who decided to advertise their guild here on TESOF. Running a guild, especially starting up and the initial recruitment is no easy task and we are glad to be of service and to help your community grow.

So if there's anything you think we can improve upon, a feature you'd like to see implemented or would like to give general feedback, please share your criticism, suggestions and thoughts here with us.

I don't really have a lot of experience with MMO's, but aren't there any international servers?

Anyways, I can't think of much to add to the guild feature. Perhaps a "race" option so that people who come by can quickly see if it is a guild of Argonians or a guild for everybody. For example, let's say you choose that your guild is an EP guild You would then get the options of:

*All races
*Dunmer focus
*Nord focus
*Argonian focus
*Dunmer only
*Nord only
*Argonian only

If you would choose another faction, the same options would come up for their races.

The race question seems to be the most commonly asked question about the guilds, and I would guess some people wants to know what kind of guild it is without doing the "effort" of reading the info-text.

It's about the physical location and latency of the connection to it. For a PvP centric and action based game a low ping is vital, so I think they will have server farms in multiple locations world wide. Usually those farms are on the east and west coast of the US and one in the EU, lately in the Dublin area.

Sometimes MMOs are region locked, but since TESO aims for a new social experience I don't think this will be the case. So essentially all servers are international servers, but may be located all over the planet and have language designations.

Connecting from the EU to NA servers and vice versa will put you at a disadvantage, why I think most guilds will be seeking members in their own timezone and to share the same prime time hours, of course.

To truly dominate an International guild is more than viable of course, if you can recruit enough members to be active 24/7. Not an easy task either.

Correct.

Different time zone is enemy for all guilds to recruit for the world. Events to join of members, will be hard to make a full active group.

Reason people have own job, school or no time for all issues. Few mad people to play 24/7.

Thus i support Deveron's case.

But just small positive: They would be a good watch dog and help own goals if one guild have both US/EU members...Or small US "ninja"-group to attack the sleep city (owned of EU guild) at night time.. Depends on how the EU/US guild is. Winking_tongue_out

Perhaps something you can click where you can see what people are in each guild? A list of names.
That might come in handy.

That'll be up to the guild leader to do. There are two additional fields that can be filled out, and one of them can optionally be a members list. Where it says "Main" is where the additional tabs will be shown, though nobody has filled them out, so it's just one large tab for each guild. The reason there isn't a standard list of members is because we support off-site guilds, so it would be inaccurate unless everyone joined this site and registered for their guild. There will also likely be a members list in-game.

Later, when recruitment speeds up, adding an option to show the number of active members could be useful, tho. And maybe we find a kind soul that could come up with a basic html roster to use for all of us. There's PHP rosters out there, too, but those would bloat the site too much and stress the server unnecessarily, since it would be just a redundant roster to the one you use on your guild's site.

Speaking of which, shouldn't you know about it, there are a couple of hosting services who offer free guild website hosting. From the top of my head, there's Guildhosting, Guildlaunch, Enjin and Shivtr.

+1 my guild will be on two factions and nord/orc only

My Guild, the league of Orsimmer, is going to have to be an EU one for now, but I could make branches for different servers. But only if region locked

How does one "join" a guild on this site anyway?

You either post a reply on the guild page, as it is essentially a thread in it's own or pm the leader. To better organize your members I'd strongly suggest creating a dedicated guild website. You can use one of the suggested services or ask google for more hosters, if you do not want to run your own site.

As there seems to be interest in discussions and some may be new to the guild business, I think a dedicated guild leader forum and guild leader group could be useful, if it doesn't put too much stress on the server.

Being able to use the full text editor on the secondary tabs would be pretty useful...
