I feel this game should have PvP looting.

I took interest when devs mentioned oldschool mmo stuffs like non instancing. One thing I like from the golden age of mmos (pre wow) was that in most game you could kill someone and loot all thier equipped items and inventory. It made pvp a viable source of income if you were good enough. I feel that TESO should have this system implemented on pvp realms at least.

I'm a fan of PvP looting as well. I love being able to grab high-value gear to sell after winning a match in PvP. Adding gear-protection for a couple of selected items would be fine as well, so you don't lose everything when you die. But I could go either way, honestly.

I don't see this being in TESO though.

Many would leave from the game if you think of this...No good idea :)

Less if they can put off ears in looting, is ok ;)

I LOVE this Idea. Maybe not all the items but some items at random, and none of the equipped items... but something. Rappalez had a "hardcore" PvP server where items would drop. They had a good system though, items only dropped when your with in same level range as the person your attacking, and the drop was rare... I lost some really nice items and gained some nice items so it was fun.

Then close your f#$kin' store, 'cause being ready for me'll take care of your wakin' hours, and you'd better have someone to hand the task off to when you close your f$#kin' eyes

Problem is ready.

It is also limit to loot items to you. More items on you, then you are not able to run as max... heh.

Lol i dont see how hedging against a drop by loading up with junk items is a bad thing... no one is putting a gun to your head to do it.

I think its more would have to come down to the programming, put a level range, make it some what rare, and maybe non equipment items...

No.

If you dont believe me play UO.

If this would be Skyrim online i agree. But its not. And it wont be. It will become extremeley annoying. Also this kind of punishment is a good way to deal with what is basically highwayman PvP. aka ganking. Were talking about War here tho. And if you risk losing your shit with every death you die on the battlefield nobody will care about doing it in the long run.

also dont let fools cash in on your nostalgia. Oldschool games were not good. They were shit. I know it because i love them. I love Wizardry 8. But if youd pull that shit today you get boycotted for it.

Not cause people today are crybabies. But because its rediculous. You think oblivion level scaling is bad? In Wizardry if you get 1 level too high in the tutorial dungeon you get one shotted by mobs outside.

They werent more polished or anymore good than todays games. They sucked as hard, and more. Its just nostalgia you got. And dont tell me corpse runs in EQ1 were fun. They werent. they sucked.

Not even morrowind is as great as people, including me, say it is. It mostly got the feel right. And pretty much failed at everything else so hard that it basically developed itself backwards.

Yess it had some nice ideas on spellcrafting and alchemy but those were done better in other games, and were broken in MW. it was still fun and i still regard it as the best game of all time. But one has to consider that we always have our nostalgia goggles on.

And when i go back to morrowind now i can honestly tell you that i groan and wish i had skyrim style combat.

I wouldn't say "nobody." Eve works just fine with... well, a similar system. It's not 'full loot' because most of your shit just gets destroyed - ie. not lootable, and not recoverable either. I prefer to call it full loss, myself.

this is not eve tho. This, alongside permadeath has been discussed to death. It is not a Sandbox game. This has no place in the game and also makes no sense. It discourages PvP and encourages stupid ganking.

Unlootable corpses is very unrealistic, at least make it so your gear takes damage from getting killed. So what if pvp happens in a pvp zone?

getting resurrected after you die is unrealistic too.
So are elves. And magic...

Thats why we need permadeath...and errr...long live the Empire...drive those subhuman races to extinction...>.> Magic is totally real though.

I don't particularly care for this feature, but it would add some realism (to a fantasy-rooted game).

Perhaps it would be better if the person killed spawned a temporary corpse which could be looted. It would drop particularly decent loot (appropriate to the level range of the person killed), although at a low rate. Though I imagine it would be nerfed in RvR for balance and to lessen the stress on the server with too stuff much going on in one area. I saw a similar feature in another MMO, though not nearly as complex.

basically getting random loot from other players is fine. Looting their stuff is a nono tho. get over it. this is not a sandbox.
