Improvements for TES VI?

So a few years from now, barring any global catastrophe, Bethesda will likely release their next addition to the Elder Scrolls series! There have often been drastic changes and improvements from one game to the next, so what do you think the Elder Scrolls VI will bring in terms of improvements?

Besides even more amazing graphics, I'm hoping they also have a massive upgrade in their base game engine. While the current one has been sufficient, I feel like there's potential for it to become even better and support better gameplay.

One thing I'm hoping for is more people and creatures on screen at once, and improved AI to support it. In the current generation, too many NPCs are taxing on CPU usage and their AI doesn't take into account huge battles. As a result many big fights such as the Civil War fort sieges in Skyrim and the Great Oblivion Gate battle in Oblivion have been relatively tamed and somewhat clumsy. For the Elder Scrolls VI I'm hoping this will be improved, and we may see massive fights that are a spectacle to watch and take part in. Although the series has never been known for huge epic wars, I feel like this would be a great improvement for when those battles do occur.

Anyways, what other improvements would you like to see in the Elder Scrolls VI?

More physics, less flying items when you walk by, some destruction would be really nice, repair hammers, strength option to lockpick stuff (with damage to your blade). I've got more but I'm going to take a nap on my desk first.

Since it'll be next gen I expect there to be less bugs and problems than on ps3. I would also like to see it be less "casual", what I mean by that is i'd like it to have more weight behind my choices and options and have the world change depending on your race. For example in Skyrim there is no difference between going with the empire or the stormcloaks in the civil war other than getting some armour (choices should have proper/ unique consequences), Also argonians are not allowed in windhelm but if the dragonborn is an argonian you can just walk right in and people don't care, I'd like to see a quest or something that means you have to prove yourself to get in which I feel would add immersion and depth to the game as well as giving the race a unique feel. I'd like to see more weapon types e.g. spears, crossbows, throwing weapons and more. They should make the dungeons less monotonous and give variety to each one, in Skyrim dungeons mostly consisted of draugr which got very boring.

guild restrictions and requirements, guilds rivalry, and not being forced into a guild to beat main quest.

in skyrim i didn't like the fact that in order to beat the main quest i have to gain entry into the collage of winterhold by joining. I also didn't like the fact that when my "no magic allowed" character was in the collage I was able to work my way up to arch-mage (or whatever their leader is called) without casting a single spell.
I personally hope that the guilds will be like Morrowind where they required you to train in certain stats in order for you to progress within their guild. I also hope that once again like in Morrowind the guilds will compete with one another for example in Morrowind the thieves guild and the fighters guild where rivals, if you joined one you couldn't join the other

You don't have to join the collage or gain entry you can simply avoid talking to the librarian and get the elder scroll withiut getting involved with the collage at all.

Anyway. What I'd like to see would be like you mentioned larger battles rather than a group of maybe half a dozen taking a fort. Also like Cadian said required skills to get into the different factions and having situations where you need to use the skills of said faction, for example using magic frequently in the mages guild. Also less bugs would be nice like the physics problems mentioned by Choc.

More realistic kill cams and such, the decapitating a person with a mace or a warhammer in Skyrim really made me mad or an aged character with rather low muscle tone wielding a massive axe and bashing peoples skulls in, it takes more force than a lot of people realize to effectively use a sword or a bow. Also more content like what they had in Daggerfall or Morrowind, seemingly ever since they've been stripping the games of the amount of stuff they have such as magic and effects like only damaging certain enemies with certain weapon types. Lastly better player homes rather than the ones you can buy in a city, it's a lot more fun when you can take up residence in an abandoned house or a ruin or whatever.

Ugh makes me think of the scamps from TES III (Morrowind) where the scamps couldn't be hurt by unenchanted iron or steel...

Agreed.

And more than 9 men to take a fort during a ''siege'' battle it was more of a skirmish.

Ooooh!!
•Climbing
•Food having more importance than just a little feature for role-players!
•Non-alcoholic beverages
•Easier ways to obtain butter
•Moar varied cooking options, possibly a skill line (unfortunately, Bethesda seems to prefer taking away skill lines rather than adding them... >:( )
•Ability to make your own butter
•NPCs not saying "I must've been hearing things" when they have A FUCKING ARROW in their face!
•The ability to write one's own journal! (buy an empty book, steal a roll of paper, get some ink and a feather, and write stuff in game)
•The ability to milk cows
•Possibly a form of lyconthropy we haven't seen before
•Kill important NPCs
•Non-human children
•Persuasion not just dependent on Speech (ex, if I am a hulking ripped Orsiner clad in Daedric armor, my ability to Intimidate people should be significantly boosted)
•The ability to milk goats

Note that some of these are more like suggestions, rather than predictions of what might be improved.

It's funny. I have almost all of these in my game due to mods. These are all things I wanted in my game. I think that if they were to flesh out the world correctly, they could put things like levetation back in the game. I'd like there to be a "Hardcore" mode ala New Vegas where it's an optional game mode where you have to eat, drink, and sleep.

Yeah, I would like to have a Redguard styled adventure again. Not with a predefined character, but with a geographically smaller game world, which yet has the same seize like Skyrim or Oblivion. Something set on one small isles, or isolated valley, which in return is fully fleshed out, with maybe one central City with a lot of People in it. Something like Red Dead Redemption.

And it will pretty much set in Hammerfell... so it will have desert like RDR ;)

Skyrim was like GTA meets elder scrolls... and I mean that was fine! Character stats can be thing, but you don´t need them, like Skyrim prooves. Yet, I like some more RPG in it, like spell crafting and other things to define your character.

That would be interesting but didn't Redguard almost bankrupt BethSoft? I may be wrong. I haven't got to play but I would like to see that as a spin-off but not as a core ES game that takes 5+ years. Maybe Zenimax could handle that?
