If you'd like to introduce yourself to your fellow TESOF members, feel free to do so in this topic.
I suppose I can start off with something short.

I've been interested in the Elder Scrolls series since around the time Oblivion was released. After playing through that, I decided to play every one of the numbered games in the series up to the latest release — Skyrim. I haven't played any of the spin-offs, so I suppose that means The Elder Scrolls Online will be the first spin-off in the series that I'll be playing.

As for the more personal stuff — I recently got out of the US Air Force and am currently residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I've lived in quite a few places, some of which include:
  • * The Philippines
  • * Guam
  • * California
  • * Arkansas
  • * Japan
  • * Singapore
  • * North Dakota
  • * Texas
  • * Colorado
This is the second time I've lived in ABQ, the first time being while I was in Middle School. It's not a bad place to live, but in all honesty... I could live elsewhere.

I have been a gamer for my entire life. While I have slowed down greatly over the years, it's still a hobby of mine that I enjoy almost as much as I used to. I don't see myself ever permanently ceasing the hobby.

If you have any questions about me, don't hesitate to leave a comment in my Guestbook or send me a message!

Hey all. My name is Michael and I'm a college student. I have been a fan of TES since I picked up Morrowind back in 2002 and have stayed with the franchise since. I have high hopes for ESO and hopefully ZOS will do it justice.

Sup, im Tim and just finished Military Service in Austria and now going to be Studying Chemistry.
I was first introduced to TES by Morrowind but then went on to play all the Games from the regular series (as in everything but Redguard and Battlespire) still Morrowind remains my all time favorite.

I tend to play Barbarians in most Video games, and TES is not an exception, however i mostly settle on Playing Argonians since Morrowind.

I rage alot, and i am not politically correct by any stretch of the imagination. But i tend to bring up Arguments to support my claims. The Forum rules in the official Forums got me quite a few infractions, but thats how i am.

As you might have already figured out, i am quite critical of TESO and have a tendency of adoptimg a cynical view on most things regarding it. However i want it to be a better game, therfore i get furious at people dismissing criticism as "whining"

When it comes to games i like PvP, im a huge fan of DotA and TES is the only recent RPG series i actually enjoy at this point. My hope for TESO is mostly that the PvP gets me hooked, i like to fight i like to conquer and i like to boast about it.

Thats me in a nutshell. Expect Rage, but not flaming.

Welcome guys, and thanks for joining up. I wasn't too sure how many people would just disregard my PMs, haha.

The forum is built around the MyBB forum software, but there have been many hours put into editing the templates and core files. So not necessarily from the ground up, but the forum is quite unique.

The question that remains is, do you want a small or a large community? I mean i guess having a very active community is important. So do you plan on getting most active members from the official board or are you willing to turn this into a major TESO community site?

i dont know how many other fansites are out there, i guess there might be a few. However the official TESO forums will soon be wiped and started as a blank slate on the official website, you might use this as an advantage to get the remaining folk on this board.

Maybe its just me, who hates getting infractions, who sees a Forum that is not administrated as much as a chance. A chance to get leaks in for example.
Ive already explained my idea of basically having a knowledge base. However it could get a bit tricky to actually realy upload all the info that there is. But if you get a few dedicated people that are good at digging up information, i can see this beeing a nice alternative to official sites where you can only get filtered information.

I'm hoping to make this a large community. I'm starting off with trying to get some of the more active and passionate members from the official board and building up a good base for newer members to stop by to get the most recent information on TESO.

I've seen a couple of sites specifically for TESO, but none that were active in any way. Though I haven't done much research in that area - I figured since we're quite a ways away from a release, it wouldn't be too hard to get a good community going here and geared up before TESO is even launched.

As for the information - yeah, it would be great to get as much as possible. I want this site to eventually be the alternative site to go to for TESO information, other than the official site. Hopefully I can get a few people to volunteer and help out with gathering of info, and we can then organize it in a way that's easy for end-users to navigate and find the information they need.

you should also consider a news website to go with the forum, if you have the ability to get that. a forum alone might not appeal to everyone. Something like a news blog, but independent from any hosting sites.

i already suggested that. A Forum is a nice start tho. As with all news sites, the most important part is the Community. I know such a site can succeed because i know a German site that did just that with the Heroes Franchise and is very active and successfull (drachenwald.net that is)

You could, when the game draws near release add stuff like guild recruitment features and so on. Generaly binding the TESO community here. To me the best source of information is always an independant one.
Actually this just makes me think of how restricted the official board actually is.

Im still suprised Faulgor managed to sneak one of the screens from the Gamestar magazine in.

@Tecca, you might just be able to create the most successful independent Teso site if you do as I and Sordak sugjested but you need to be quick, as soon as the game is released others will think of doing the same. i'll happily write articles for you if you get it working

I'm Niall, 18 years old, and a language student in the Midlands in England. Just finished my A levels in French, German and Spanish at college and pending results (as far as I can tell, college is used differently in the UK than it is in the US - I'll spare the lecture but I'd guess that I have what equates to an American high school diploma, but the two years at college in the UK is optional). Provided my grades are good enough, I'll be headed further up north to study Chinese and Japanese at university.

I started playing The Elder Scrolls with Oblivion for the Xbox 360, I was then shown the folly of my ways and quickly bought it for the PC. I've played Morrowind and Skyrim too, and I have to say that Skyrim is my favourite of the series.
