Firstname - Kaizen

Surname - Indoril

Title - Ranger General

Sex - Male

Age - Unknown (Born on the 13th of Sun's Dawn, 1E 478)

Occupation - Ranger

Faction - Former House Indoril (Exiled)

Appearance - Blood red eyes, pale blue skin, pale grey ponytail and beard. His hands have dark tufts of grey fur, and his fingernails are elongated and claw-like.

Personality - Unsociable, Troubled (has suffered many sorrows in his vast existence.)

Social Background/Backstory - Being born straight into House Indoril, he was raised via their strict teaching. Excelling at a young age at archery and light armor crafting from early ages. His unparalleled skill in archery would soon mean he would be drafted into the Dunmer Military into one of the many archer divisions, he would soon be promoted to Ranger General.

During a trivial skirmish on the island of Sheogorad, his unit would be attacked during the night by a large pack of master vampires. He awoke in the night to find a vampire in his tent, blood dripping from his chin. Kaizen then grabbed an arrow from his quiver beside his bedroll, he then drove the arrow through the vampires' head. He took a brief look at the rest of his unit to find that many of them had been drained of blood and many of the vampires had fled back into the night, a few remained and he picked up his bow and took aim. A phrase came into his head that had been recited over and over as a child. "Do not allow yourself to driven by vengeance." Acknowledging this he sheathed his arrow and his bow, and began the long walk back to House Indoril.

His journey back would prove to be challenging, his energy had been drained as he had lost a lot of blood as the vampire had been attempting to drink him dry. He would often collapse only to find that his temporary rests would be interrupted by vivid nightmares. At the time he had no knowledge of the symptoms of vampirism and assumed the nightmares were from his slaughtered comrades. Things would take a turn for the worse when he was approached by a ghost-like apparition in the night.

The figure claimed to be Hircine, of which Kaizen had heard only rumours of him being a great daedric hunter. The figure placed his palm on Kaizen's forehead infusing him with a dark magic. It would later turn out that Hircine had imparted Lycanthropy unto Kaizen. Kaizen then fell into a comatose state for 3 days. While his blood fused, the two diseases combining.

He would awaken on the north shore of Vvardenfell where he would meet a fisherman who would help him return back to House Indoril, he would then alert his superiors of the fate of his unit. After the traumatic ordeal Kaizen decided to retire from his military career but still hold a seat in the Indoril council.

He would later meet Draisi, a young maid working in his estate. They would soon form a relationship which would be interrupted by an unplanned pregnancy. To avoid this child being shunned by the Indorils' he then agreed with Draisi to be bound in wedlock.

During Draisi's pregnancy the symptoms of Kaizen's vampirism would worsen to the point where the sun would become an unwelcome sight for him, his body began to look more gaunt, his skin paler, his eyes were a brighter shade of red than ever before. Things were exacerbated due to the lack of blood he had been drinking. He also noticed upsides to his vampirism, he was becoming stronger, more agile and began to move faster. His Lycanthropy lay dormant for many more years before symptoms took effect.

Many years had passed since his unit was killed on the remote island of Sheogorad, but since that point he noticed he had not aged a day. This was the point where he truly acknowledged his vampirism. However he did not know whether it was a blessing or a curse.

He awoke one night after a particularly vivid nightmare, one where he would envision the death of his wife and unborn child. He would run outside, in the pouring rain and splash his face in the pond in his estate. As he stared down into the water he saw the face of his wife, she had tears streaming down her face, she visibly looked distressed. His brief trance was interrupted by the screams of a woman, he would run back into his house to find his wife had entered labour, he had been unaware due to them sleeping in different bedrooms as she disliked the interruption from his nightmares.

He ran to her side and grabbed her hand, 2 long hours followed until the child had been born, after this she slipped into an unconscious state, Kaizen then froze staring down at the animated freshly born baby, the sight and smell of blood would nearly drive him insane, he buried down this raw emotion, and wrapped the baby up in a sheet. Dawn would arrive and the other maids would arrive and to deliver much needed medicine to Draisi and the baby.

A week passed as Draisi was recuperating and Kaizen would spend some vital and yet brief bonding time with his son. At the end of this week a courier arrived at his estate with a note summoning to the Indoril Council. It was unclear what was wanted of him. At first he was hesitant of leaving his baby in the company of his maids, while Draisi was recuperating in bed. He could not however ignore the summons and packed for the journey back to House Indoril.

He arrived at House Indoril to find the ordinators had his hands bound and led to the prison cells. Minutes that felt like hours passed by, and he was brought before the council, they explained that he accused to being a vampire, the punishment for this was exile from the Indorils. His appearance supported the fact that he had vampirism, looking especially gaunt and corpse-like.

He was not allowed to return back to his estate, instead he was put on a ship and sent to the mainland, the terms of his exile meant he was not allowed to return to Vvardenfell. He decided to honor this exile and ventured his way north from the mainland and then took a ship to Solstheim, here he became a seasoned hunter, living completely off the land moving from cave to cave, sleeping primarily through day.

One morning he ventured into what seemed to be a bear cave, he stumbled upon the remains of beasts and nords, as he ventured further into the cave he heard a roar unlike any other animal he had heard before. This caused him to draw his hand crafted bow, he drew one arrow from his quiver, he peered round a rock to find a creature he had not seen before. The creature looked to be part man and part wolf. This would prove to be one of the first werewolves. Not knowing the anatomy he aimed straight for the backside of the beasts head, the arrow only proved to provoke the beast, as it turned, Kaizen had already drawn another arrow. The beast then lunged toward him, with one claw outstretched it graised his face and part of his right shoulder. Kaizen had however launched the arrow straight through the beasts upper torso, which proved to be the killing blow to this beast.

Kaizen awoke several hours later, to find the body of a Nord ontop of him. He then ran his hand over his face, he found that the wound that was had healed leaving only dried blood upon his face, his should had also healed, leaving only scars and ripped fur armor. The now vanished wound appeared to have awoken part of Kaizen that he did not know existed. Fur grew on the back of his hands and this nails extended to form something similar to claws. At the time Kaizen feared the worst, but this appeared to be the only symptom and decided to divert his thoughts elsewhere. Looking out the cave entrance he could see that it was still day and so he retired further into the cave and tried to fall asleep.

He laid there twitching and turning, he was unable to fall asleep, after lying for several hours with his eyes shut he found that it was doing him no good and decided to sit up and light a fire and wait for day to pass.

As night fell he decided to set off out into the wilderness again. This would prove to be a turning point in his life, he spent countless years living alone on Solstheim, he long wondered what had happened to his son and wife, whether they were still alive or if they had passed away long ago from old age. Kaizen knew that his vampirism had taken it's toll and he was likely going to live on for a very long time. He long had thoughts of suicide but that was not the way he wanted to go, he wanted to die by the sword.

It would not be until the emergence of the reincarnation of Nerevar that he would leave Solstheim, however opting to return to the mainland and travel to Cyrodiil where he would begin search for a cure for his vampirism, during this search he would spend his time performing freelance work to get by, living in taverns and inns across the country. It was during a stay at an Inn in Kvatch where he would discover yet another turn in his life.

He was awoken in the mid afternoon to the sounds of screams and the roar of explosions. One that tore the wall of his inn bedroom down, unleashing the bright dusking sun on him, he expected to burst into flame as he had not fed on human blood in hundreds of years, as he thought would happen if he met direct sunlight, instead he almost blinded himself having not seen something so bright in such a long time.

It took him a few minutes to adjust his eyes to such a bright setting, just as a couple of daedra began to run into his room, he was able to grab his bow and draw 2 arrows to take out both daedra with a single draw. He witnessed what looked to be a huge tool of destruction, he ran for the town gate and managed to escape. It was soon night and he found himself running toward the nearest town which happened to be Skingrad.

He did not utter a word of what had happened to anyone, instead hearing about it from gossip of other townsfolk. As he had no business in Skingrad he decided to leave as soon as he could, he got about 500 metres out of the city gates before being stopped by what looked to be the same pale, gaunt face that was his own. This however was another vampire, the only other that he had met in his many years of travels, he had no idea how to interact with the man.

The man hailed Kaizen and revealed himself to be none other than the Count Hassildor of Skingrad. The Count would then reveal that he had found a cure, and that he would let Kaizen know about the cure if he promised to help cure his wife. Kaizen was delighted by the information that he had a cure for the problem that had seen him stripped of his family and home.

The Count explained that he needed to go and see a retired Glenmoril Witch living off the land somewhere in Cyrodiil, he gave Kaizen a map with it's location. He then continued on to the Witch's remote house. He found that he no longer needed to rest at night as long has he was wearing a hood and had his skin completely covered up, the sun would no longer cause him any problems.

After 48 hours he arrived at the house next to the river. Upon entering he saw the woman sat next to the fire, she knew just from the lightfooted steps that this was no regular human, this was a vampire. She confronted Kaizen asking what he had come for, he explained he had been seeking a cure. She looked closely into his eyes.

She did not see a vampire in his eyes, atleast not a complete one. Being a Glenmoril witch she was familiar with Lycanthropy. She grabbed Kaizen's hands and pulled out a knife, she saw the tufts of fur on the back of his hands the claw like fingernails. Kaizen was at first hesitant of her intentions, but allowed her to draw some blood. She dipped her little finger into the exposed vein and tasted the faintest amount of blood before spitting it out.

She explained to him that he had a mix of both Vampirism and Lycanthropy, she then proceeded to say that there was no certain cure. If there was a cure it could cause instantaneous death as his blood had long been fused together, and removing one part of the disease could destroy him. Kaizen fled from the house, distraught from the information he had just received.

Even after so many years of pain and suffering he had no intentions to die anymore. Wherever he went he saw beauty in things, he began to love what his life had became. (To be continued).

Best Memory - The birth of his son, Drayven Indoril.

Worst Memory - Being banished from the House Indoril after them catching light of his dark secret, being a vampire.

Skills - Extremely skilled marksman, jack of all trades. A once legendary General in the Dunmer military.

Challenges for the Character - His blood is a hybrid of werewolf and vampire, gaining almost none of the benefits, being unable to rest. While not quite killed by direct sunlight it still drains his strength, having to wear a hood at all times during daylight to maintain his strength. The effects if having mixed blood means that he is immortal.

Birthsign - The Lover

Religious Views - Has experience many religions, at first he is a firm follower of the Tribunal temple.

Politics Views - Over countless years he has seen democracies rise and fall, leaderships fail and many wars. Kaizen does not have any particular political views anymore as he has lived a huge portion of his life in Seclusion.

Sorry if it seems a bit long, I started writing several hours ago and just made stuff up as I went along.

You know that it's literally impossible to become a Vampire/Werewolf hybrid in Tamriel, right? The two diseases both grant immunity to disease, so once you catch one you can't catch the other.

A strong arm to slay the weak.

An iron heart that knows no fear.

And a foul mouth to boast about it!

Such are the virtues of the pact!

Isn't that only after certain stages in vampirism? Early on vampires can still catch diseases?

True, but Kaizen was long into his vampirism when he got attacked by the wolf. By then, he would have been immune to the Lycanthrope disease.

even if he got bit while he had the vamp disease, he could have only caught the lycanthrope disease during the three days between when he caught the vamp disease and when he actually became a vamp. And even then, the vampirism would have beaten out the lycanthropy.
