Not Set
Do you think these will be present in TESO? or will every Khajiit look the same?

On another note, I was thinking of going with a white and black tiger/panther but I was wondering whether these would be overly popular and not very unique?

At launch, the playable Khajiit will be Suthay-raht, but I imagine there will be NPCs of other types.

By arrow. By blade.
By tooth. By claw.
By shock. By frost. By flame.
The Aldmeri Dominion will dominate Tamriel.
Our enemies will fall until the Throne is ours.

they said all NPCs and players will be Suthay-rath in the Q and A. Its a sad state of affairs isnt it?
When they already deem this too obscure...

For once we fully agree. This was one of the things I was most looking foreword to seeing in TESO, and honestly the sub-species plays a HUGE roll in their culture. Hearing this disappointed me immeasurably.

Crap, thats a shame. I was hoping we'd have some sort of feature like having Senche-raht as Khajiit mounts. :(

I can understand only having a single breed for player characters, but not having diverse Khajiit npc's is a real shame. I suppose Zenimax went with practicality over Lore. =/

I have to agree even though for me the Khajiit are not one of my favorite race it for sure will feel weird to know that there are the other types of Khajiit. I would hope that some time in the life of ESO they put some of the other types in the game.
But I kind of have the feeling that their giving most of their focus to the more favorite races. Not saying that there isn't a big fan base for the Khajiit. But I have to say they SHOULD spend more time on the Khajiit, Orcs and Argonians because their more "exotic". They stand alone in their own ways. While Nord's, Imperials, Brenton's and Redguards all resemble Humans in ways. Then you have the Bosmer, High Elves, and Dark Elves, all resemble each other in ways. But there is only ONE cat like race ONE reptilian race and even though Orc's are part elves and do in ways resemble Elves they still stand alone in looking like beasts with their teeth and skin color so these three races should get the most attention to make them stand out even more in game.

Sorry if I'm incorrect with some of my info.

Didn't they say in an interview, forgot which one, that the reason you only get that one subrace at launch is due to the plague that is going around at the time. And that you might still see npc's off other subraces, but for them to be playable the plagued would have to be dealt with. Which I'd say is a fancy way off saying, not at launch but maybe sometime down the line.

^^ This.

They said they will implement subspecies in future updates, but not at launch.

Even though it's a far shot and I'm not AD, it'd be really cool if the AD could bring Senche-raht's onto the pvp battlefield as a unique type of siege weapon. That would make pvp an experience to die for.

Well in that case I'm personally not that too concerned about this. And I'll admit that its mostly due to me going Nord/Dunmer at first, although provided that there is no faction lock I will definetively make a khajiit alt at some point. But yeah I can understand that people would love to have mpre than one subspecies too choose from.

Having that said, and correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I remember off the races available in Morrowind up to Skyrim (The base game, not the modded games). Its always been just Khajiit, and little mention, if any off their subspecies. I only found out there were different subspecies due to running across mods for skyrim with khajiit subspecies. Then again I'm far from what you'd call well versed in tes lore.

All will be Suthay-raht in ESO at least in the beginning.

Similar in height and build to the race of man, the Suthay-raht are one of the most common breeds of Khajiit. Their coloring ranges from dark brown and orange, to light yellow, both with and without stripes and spots. Suthay-raht are often referred to as "Ja'Khajiit" (meaning "kitten") by those of other races; this appellation often strikes the Khajiit as odd, said title being one of their names for Mehrunes Dagon. The Khajiit encountered in Vvardenfell, Cyrodiil and Skyrim are Suthay-raht, as well as the Khajiit found on Stros M'kai near the end of the Second Era.

Would seem a bit odd, never heard of redguard scorpion riders. Perhaps dwarven siege equipment?

On a side note I hope khajit will eventually be able to ride khajit into battle
