First post!

The combat system is what really attracted me to ESO, the idea of defeating your opponent with superior skill and not just by having better gear from grinding longer sounds like fun.

Before launch with no past MMO experience to bias my play style I wanted to set up a fast char with massive DPS and used blocking dodging to tank. My DW NB/Bow 7 Medium Armour is level 15 now. My skill points so far are 3 magicka, 4 health, 6 stamina. With the usual DW NB PvE abilities.

All is going well but I don't see anyone really playing a dodge block tank char in any class. Yet I've heard a ton of people say 'once people (realise/learn/understand) how to block dodge better' followed by '(things/builds/strategy) will change'. It seems like people are doing what they know works in past MMO's whilst I'm attempting something a little experimental (I'm sure I'll be quickly corrected if this statement is false).

I understand now that syphoning abilities will also play a key role in keeping me alive but I have a few questions before committing more skill points.

1. Does anyone play like this?

2. Is it possible to mitigate low health points with stamina, blocks n' dodges, siphons?

3. What effect will adding 2 heavy armour have on my stamina and speed?

4. I plan to dump the rest of my skill points into stamina will this leave me without enough health?

5. I am right in assuming DW daggers have more DPS than swords because they have greater attack speed?

Thanks for your time and effort with this. Hopefully in time I'll be able to help other people out once I learn something useful.

Well, It's been over a week now and looking around there are plenty older posts sitting miserably on zero replies.

I've gone out into the world and found the answers for the above. Most of the questions seem a little daft now. But that's why people call themselves 'noob' they're letting people know that they except their post/question(s) might be stupid as they are a 'noob' But even so! any forum worth it's salt will have people dedicated to giving people at least one reply. Even if it is to say 'your question doesn't make much sense because....'.

This is especially true for any post starting with 'First post!' surely you want to welcome these people to your community otherwise the original poster won't be happy and people thinking of posting here will see that many posts go unanswered and will look else where.

Thank you and goodbye

Hello FerrisDueler,

I don't know much about the Nightblade class as I have not played with them, but am sorry no one answered your questions for you. A lot of people either A) felt like you would find most of these answers in older posts, or B) are currently spending all of their time actually playing the game.

Only reason I am still hanging around the forums so much is because I am waiting for the console release of TESO. Hope you are enjoying the game!

The fires burn. Our supplies are spent. Axes are dull, and armor is rent. The enemy approaches, our doom, they seek. We are Daggerfall Covenant. We are Orcs. Our comrades, they come, for glory they seek, at the side of our iron and steel. We will not fall.

I would give your idea a try and if i doesnt work out for you you can always start a new game. And you probably havent been answered because the whole forum is slow now because of the game launch and not many people answer to things any more.
