No fear of Archeage?

I've seen that you can register for Archeage Open Beta.
Don't you fear the release of Archeage could have a big impact on TESO?

As far as I could read, players can fly and fight on boats, moreover there are 120 classes possibilities. I don't know about the races though.

What I mean is: don't you fear the while waiting for TESO people could try Archeage and ... not come to TESO afterwards?

The races are a mix of humans and zoomorphic humans.

ArcheAge is largely a sandbox game based in original IP, TESO is mainly a themepark with strong RvR elements. Certainly ArcheAge will increase the competition in the MMO field, it's one more competitor for TESO, but I wouldn't see it necessarily having that big an influence on TESO's chances.

Sandbox isn't to everyone's taste, TES is a strong IP and ArcheAge has some more archaic features compared to TESO, I don't think it's spoken, for example. I would see ArcheAge mainly going against the sandbox flood from SOE and also getting interest from people who don't like story playing a big role in a game.

east Asian MMOs are notoriously bad when it comes to their stories, overall and the level of quests; they are usually largely excuses. In TESO, I expect the opposite. ArcheAge might have gorgeous graphics, but graphics aren't everything, far from it as least for me.

TESO is for people who want to experience stories and epic battles in an established, loved fictional world, to be part of that world that already has a lot depth. ArcheAge on the other hand gives a new fictional world as a background for people who want to create new stories of their own against that background. Both have their strengths.

TESO will be my choice, like SWTOR is my current choice. I love stories, experiencing them and being able to influence their direction more than I want to exploit what sandbox games have to offer. I want freedom, but in the limits of an existing, vibrant fictional world, experiencing it's stories, exploring it's lore and myths. So, TESO for me but I wish ArcheAge the very best.

The thing that completely seperates Archeage from TESO, is that the other one is an eastern mmorpg, and the other is from the west. I for one care little for games with people with tales running about and massive special effects. Also Archeage isn't truly a sandbox either. Its a themepark game with Sandbox end-game content.

ArchAge, Black Desert and EverQuest Next are all going to be some pretty serious contenders in my opinion. At the moment, I would say EverQuest Next, if they're doing what I believe they're doing, will be the 'next big' mmo.

That being said, I'd say most of the people who want to play TESO want to play it due to the IP, the setting and lore which those other games, no matter how great they might be, simply don't have.

A strong arm to slay the weak.

An iron heart that knows no fear.

And a foul mouth to boast about it!

Such are the virtues of the pact!

All hail Vehk and his Buoyant Armigers!
