The day slowly turned to night across Tamriel, and in the West Weald two Khajiit prepared to make camp. Do'Shanji, a Cathay, and Jo'Naar, a Dagi-raht, were making their preparations outside the ruins known as Nornalhorst. Nothing but a small tent and a bed roll. The two would sleep in shifts to keep a watch over the ruins, knowing the danger that lie within.

Fortunately the night passed without any trouble and in the morning Do'Shanji went hunting for a meal. Jo'Naar was left to watch the camp and feed the fire. As he walked around the area collecting wood, Jo'Naar began to hope that some adventurers would be coming soon. He returned to the camp filled with hope, but there was no one yet. Do'Shanji, who had returned successful from his hunt and was now cutting the meat up, saw his friend's look of disappointment and tried to reassure him.

“It is only morning Jo'Naar, as you have said to this one, they will come.”

Jo'Naar added his collection of firewood to the flames and nodded in agreement. “You are right, Jo'Naar is simply anxious. The necromancers are powerful..” his voice faded off at the end. The two Khajiit watched as their meat cooked over the fire, hoping that soon they would be joined by others in their cause.

Do'Shanji and Jo'Naar are camped near the wall opposite the entrance, but they are keeping a watch for anyone walking up to the entrance. The entrance itself is the last remaining intact part of the inner circle. Its stone walls seem to shine in the sunlight. Lying nearby is the charred and bloody remains of a massive minotaur. A large ebony warhammer lay at the creature's side. Several types of plants are present in the immediate area.

Night to most it was a relaxing time so quiet and still. Requies always saw night as something plagued by secrets, monsters, and the things no man or mer wishes to admit exist. It was a product of his occupation no doubt and this night was no different. Only two days ago he had finished a hunt and made a nice sum of money, but what good did it do when most of it was spent on his recovery...he always told himself he did the job just cause he was helping the world, but sometimes it was hard for him to hold onto that ideal.

As Requies thought to himself and mumbled walking through the wilderness he took a look at a map and he noticed something odd a smudge marking and name on the map. It was east of his location and curiosity as usual got the best of him...he wanted to know why the person he had got the map from tried to get rid of the marking. He figured if he walked through the night he could get there by morning. Requies recalled as he walked that a a Khajit...Fa'Dul he thought mentioned a fort out this way. He said something was going on there though Requies had a little trouble recalling they had only spoke in passing on the road.

He trudged on through the night and as mornings light came he saw the keep, but he noticed there was already a camp there. Curious he thought. The air was still and there was a smell of death...he was familiar with it, but it seemed peaceful. He approached the camp cautiously and waited to see if anyone willing to talk was there.

The morning was bright, the wind was stiff, but the ground was solid underfoot. Eochaid loped along, his ankles still raised a little higher than was normal. He so used to having the weight of steel manacles drag them down that he looked rather odd. This was a very green place, full of plants, and wildlife.

The Wichman was just a few days out of Bravil, just a few days free of slavery. The bones of his captor were comforting on his belt, their power his. He had wrapped them in cloth, for some reason these outsiders became fearful of his trophies. He adjusted his skin bracers. The scheming cat-man had tried to steal his purse, even though he didn't have one. So Eochaid had caught him, killed him and skinned him, and now had a purse of fine cat-skin as well as new bracers. The purse was empty, yet still, not for long. Since he had come out of the sea, he hadn't washed, and the salt stiffened his hair into tangles. The shirt, trews and boots he had taken from the khajiit were a poor fit, the boots too large, and strangely shaped, the trews torn off below the right knee, revealing tattooed flesh. Even the shirt too long. He looked comical. His sword was soft iron. He knew nothing of the making of metal, but his old sword had been a wonderful thing. This was nothing.

Eochaid had avoided people and cities as he came west, keeping a low profile. The cities! Huge, they were, with straw roofs and stone walls, and wooden doors. Lots and lots of houses for lots and lots of people. He would have traded them all for his home. For now he wandered, without purpose. He had sworn fel oaths beside the sea, but he could not act upon them.

In the distance, he spied stonework. It was ruined, like some of the places in the Reach. Old merish castles that held gold and jems and gleaming weapons. He patted the sword thrust through the cloth sash at his waist.

"Ye'll nary dae fer me, laddie, ya cannie skin a man wae a bloont blade. I'll tak masel' a fin soord o' merish make oot yonder stone".

And with that, he scampered down a small slope, leaped a low hedge, and came quietly upon the camp made by Do'Shanji and Jo'Naar. He saw the Minotaur, then the two khajiit. His long time at sea had killed his once formidable skills as a tracker and hunter. When he saw the them, he froze, then relaxed and brought a hand to his sword.

"Guid day tae ye, laddies. Did ye mak this wan a coorpse?" he pointed to the minotaur, impressed, wondering if there was still enough skin on it to make something. If not, he could always skin the big cat. It looked to have a fine hide on it. He missed Requies presence completely.

Along the rough dirt road a Khajiit of great size walked, a Cathay-Raht some might recognize wearing what looked like a long tunic and two Akiviri war katanas at his side. Do'zakar felt slightly saddened as he walked through the plains of Colovia, it reminded him of the plains of Anequina in his homeland though nothing could match them so these only made him homesick being so close to Elsweyr.

He had received word from a tavern-keep in Skingrad that some of his fellow Khajiit were looking for help clearing out a ruin full of necromancers, normally Do wouldn't have gone and instead looked for someone who needed something smuggled but he couldn't leave fellow Khajiits in possible danger, and he needed to regain his honour somehow, being a smuggler and mercenary shamed him greatly and he needed to prove that he was great, especially in the eyes of his people.

Eventually he saw the dim glow of an Ayleid ruin in camp fire light with two Khajiit sitting at it's side, a Cathay and a Dagi-Raht, though neither were as great of stature as he with his great height. These must be the ones on the hunt so Do'zakar headed toward the camp with a bit more speed.

Khajiit
As Requies approached the camp, Jo'Naar called out to the Breton. "Over here, this one has heard of Jo'Naar's quest?" The Khajiit's voice was filled with hope. Before anything else could be said, a strange man burst onto the scene. His thick accent was unlike anything the Elsweyr natives had heard and they stared at him with a strange look. There was a momentary silence as the man waited for his question to be answered. Finally Do'Shanji spoke up "The minotaur was fearsome, but yes these Khajiit have put him to an end."

Now Jo'Naar spoke again "Perhaps you are interested in seeing more evil meet a similar fate?"

As Jo'Naar spoke, a large Khajiit appeared in the distance. He saw the figure was moving at a fast pace towards their camp and would be there shortly. Once the Cathay-raht, who stood larger than even Do'Shanji, a sizable warrior in his own right, reached the camp, Jo'Naar hailed him over.

"This one seeks your help. A great evil dwells within this place, Jo'Naar has seen it with his own eyes. Necromancy. Sacrifice. The abominations inside cannot be left unchecked. They must all be destroyed." The medic addressed the three arrivals to the small camp, hopeful that they might be willing to enter the old ruins to aid his quest.

Do'zakar inclined his head a little to the people present "This one has heard of something similar from a tavern keep in Skingrad, Khajiit will gladly join you in the destruction of these defilers. But first allow this one to introduce himself, Do'zakar is this Khajiits name."

Then he noticed the dead Minotaur "That is no small feat, was this beast slain by the two of you?"

"Wa's a khajeet wen its a haim?" asked a confused Eochaid. These cats spoke in a very strange way. But they had made no threats, taken no fighting stance, and so the human wandered over to the minotaur. He gave the Breton a look of great complexity: his eyes screamed hatred, his smile was mild and humorous. Cursed bretons and their steel clad knights. He spat to avert bad luck, then crouched down by the large hammer. He glanced at the massive khajiit. Compared to the two Cathay, he was tiny, tiny and looked more like a beggar than a warrior.

No sentence could have been more misleading. He didn't care about evil. He didn't care about the raising of the dead. Such things happen. But he needed some silver, some gold, new weapons, gems, jewels. He needed wealth, even if he had to split it with these cat-people. By the sounds of it, he might need their help. His scarred hand, calloused rough, stroked the hilt of his sword. He considered the danger of such a place, full of sorcerers, against the potential for gain. Even a handful of coin would aid him for now, get him food, drink, maybe a woman.

That settled it. Besides, he'd let the big cats lumber around first. He hadn't used a sword for four years. He's used his hands for the Dunmer, a kitchen knife for the cat, the khajiit. After so long, maybe it would be good to fight? He knew it would.

"Aye, I'l go wit ye" he said, looking at the smallest cat.

Do'zakar frowned and flattened his ears in confusion with what he thought was a Reachman, how did people manage to have a conversations with him? "Khajiit is Khajiit, you're question does not make sense to Do'zakar."

((Should have said this Requies is a Breton Kaaos is a dunmer))

Requies looked at the ruins a smile on his face he always liked diving into the unknown. He looked to the khajit "I'd be glad to help. What are we expecting in there?" Requies cast a spell and began to approach the walls of the ruins and trace them wit his hands. As he continued he came to a sudden stop and mumbled to himself before walking back to the group at their camp.

"There is darkness in there no doubt...vampires?" Requies spoke he questioned himself though the spell allowed him to sense the undead there was never a guarantee that he identified the opponent correctly. He had to go off of movements and demeanor hoping that these tells would lead him to the solution and what he had seen in the ruins indicated vampires were afoot.

"When do we move and what is the goal?" Requies tried to focus in on the main problem why exactly was this place important for these khajit to be so far away from home and to be so interested in it. Especially since they were not traders or peddlers they were a Dagi mage and a Cathay warrior... something here must of garnered real attention for them to show up.

Khajiit
Do'Shanji looked up at Do'Zakar. How odd for him to see anything taller than him, much less another Khajiit. He glanced over at the long-daed Minotaur when it was mentioned again. Do'Shanji had to control the urge to visibly shudder. "Jo'Naar and Do'Shanji have ended this one, yes, but there was another Khajiit. Fa'dul. The Minotaur fought with vicious ferocity, but his fate was sealed the day he dared to test the strength of the Khajiit!" Do'Shanji proudly stood by the kill while Jo'Naar discussed things with Eochaid and Requies.

The medic was still in a state of delight that their party was now large enough to enter the ruins. However, these newer folks were completely unknown. Jo'Naar was always a trusting soul, but one never knew what lurked behind an innocent face. Still he was a beggar for their help and would not turn down anyone who was willing.

"Do'Zakar is right, introductions are in order! This one you may call, Jo'Naar" The Khajiit began to point to his larger friend, but Do'Shanji was already blurting his name out. "Do'Shanji, defender of Elsweyr."

Jo'Naar waited for the others to introduce themselves before he responded to Requies question. "Jo'Naar thinks it will be good to enter soon. Surprise is a mighty weapon, and we risk losing it by milling around out here for much longer." The Khajiit had hoped for a few more, but the five of them would have to do.

Do'zakar was pleased to have met with a fellow warrior "Well spoken friend, these inside will fall by Khajiits claws and swords, and of course mages spells. Defender, were you in the ranks of Elsweyr's military?"

The cat-people seemed to think they were called khajiit. He had seen them often enough, the Dunmer slaver had kept several as oarslaves. Eochaid let them prattle on about this and that. He had decided to leave the minotaur, for he had not killed it. He might be laid low, enslaved, and now poor, weak, alone, but he was still the same man who ruled the Stone Halls. He had the same pride. He didn't need the scavenge the cat-people's kills. He touched the bones of the Dunmer, strapped to his belt. The one who had kept him weak and feeble for so long, who had kept Eochaid in his power, was now in his hands. That was powerful magic, in its own way.

The Reachman drew his sword, its edge soft and pitted, and moved toward the entrance, impatient to be moving.

Requies nodded to Jo'Naar and brandished his sword preparing for the trip into the ruins. "I'm ready whenever we move. It's good to meet you Jo'Naar and Do'Shanji now let us cleanse these ruins and exterminate whatever evil lies within." Requies smiled in excitement the anticipation was to much he was ready for a fight.

Do'zakar flattened his ears again but this time in anger at the Redguard that had appeared brandishing a weapon. He extended his ebony claws and took a martial arts fighting stance ready to get in close before the Redguard could fire an arrow "You first foolish Redguard, our business is none of yours."
