Hey, yesterday Zenimax Online Studios sent out a rather large wave of Beta invites for The Elder Scrolls Online. Be sure to check your email, including any promotional and spam tabs.

If you received one, congrats! Just remember to follow the NDA accordingly.

Here's a recent statement from ZoS representative, Jessica Folsom on Reddit.

Quote:We understand that this topic is one that causes some confusion, so we're happy to pop in and clear it up. Our NDA does state that you should not talk about the beta, at all, including whether or not you're in it. Realistically, though, we don't feel it's fair to ban someone from the beta for getting excited and simply saying something like "Yay! I got an invite!" That's not really harmful or sharing anything about the beta test.
If that's all a person says, it's no big deal to us. The problem is, it rarely stops there. Unless you've got an iron will, it's very difficult not to share your excitement and talk about something you enjoy with your friends, especially when they know about it. Eager friends start asking questions, and the trouble starts there.
"What's the harm in telling them just a little?"
"It won't hurt to show off this one screenshot of my character, right?"
That's how leaks often happen.
TL;DR: We frown upon it, yes. We won't ban for simply stating you're in the beta. If we find out that you've said or shared anything more than that about the ESO beta while the NDA is in place, yes you will be removed from the beta.
We hope that makes sense. Please let us know if you have any questions!

And if you haven't received a Beta invite yet, comfort in the idea that the invites will likely ramp up even more with time.

Check you e-mails on this one! (dont forget the spam folders) This invite round is apparently the largest one to date! I got in (so excite) and know SEVERAL unnamed people who did too.

Also, some might benefit from resubmitting the application. I know mine somehow got lost when they started including consoles. Better safe than sorry

No, you will have a link in an e-mail to go sign up and enter your beta key. Then you will download the game client just like any other game, install the game, and have access to the game during your assigned beta test.

The fires burn. Our supplies are spent. Axes are dull, and armor is rent. The enemy approaches, our doom, they seek. We are Daggerfall Covenant. We are Orcs. Our comrades, they come, for glory they seek, at the side of our iron and steel. We will not fall.

Oh, ok, thank you. What would you have to do during/after the Beta? (I have never participated in one)

You just play the game, and while playing, if you notice anything that could be improved, or is a bug, you submit feedback/bug report to let them know what you experienced. They may or may not have a survey for you to take after the beta ends. It is like you are getting to play the game early, but they are relying on you to pay attention to the game and notice problems that they need to address, and provide them with your experience. For example, if you beta test a game, and are on a quest, but the quest does not acknowledge that you did a part of it, like killing a specific NPC, you would report that as a quest bug. If you were in a building, and your character clipped into the wall and got stuck, or you just noticed a high level of clipping between your character and objects/npcs/other players, you would report what you experienced. That is just some of the really basic stuff.

Since I'm allowed to say it, I'll say that I was in the beta this weekend. It was a great experience and I hope the feedback and reports I submitted will prove helpful.

Also, don't forget watching everybody complain about bugs/glitches or talk about how crappy the game is because they don't know what beta testing means. ;D

LOL! Yeah, the last beta test I was in, I had only been in the game about 5 minutes when someone started dropping f-bombs, racial slurs, and telling people the game looked bad. I don't get people trolling in a beta..... well, I don't get people trolling in a released game or forum either, so I guess I just don't understand trolls Unsure
