About OneSky
Main Lore
"Though we walk different grounds, we fight under one sky..."

[Image: OneSky_Logo_TransparentBKGD_zps0375ccff.png]

OneSky began primarily as a siege-guild over half a decade ago; comprised of many of the most cutthroat and ruthless warriors the world over. Moving into the future, we seek to draw upon a diverse community that values fellowship, trade, honor, ambition, and respect. Through teamwork and continually evolving tactics, we utilize one-another's individual strengths to drive our engine of war, as well as strengthening the bonds of our community.

That being said, we're NA/EU in regards to our present population, but fall into the category of an international guild.

Leadership: OneSky's command structure is driven toward its members' freedoms and shared goals. The guild leadership tends to shift between a small group of leaders with shared skills, values, and a selfless nature toward the strength and longevity of OneSky's fellowship. Leadership is both transparent and collaborative with members; as well as informal and inclusive in many aspects. There are several inter-guild professions that members can invest themselves towards that the guild at-large will help supplement; from crafting, exploration, battle, and all of the above; even leadership is cultivated and empowered among members. OneSky's structure offers a round-table atmosphere of strong respect and dignity, both practical yet firm in issues of contention, and all driven towards the successes on which our foundations stand.

Player vs. Player: Already, we have a fairly diverse group of those who both come from hardcore duelist backgrounds, to those who don't generally go out of there way to PvP. The one, singular, binding point in terms of PvP that we share stems from our roots as a siege-guild in Rappelz; that went unbeaten for three and a half years, with over one-hundred fifty siege victories across three servers over the total course of six years, and less than 5 total losses - thoroughly leaving no major enemy guild unbeaten. Siege/faction war involvement is what will largely define our impact among the Ebonheart Pact. Expect the banner of OneSky on the field of war.

To us, a good PvPer doesn't necessarily always have to be one who effectively uses the most meta-combo, or seeks the most confrontation; rather, someone who is patient, pragmatic, and intelligent can be equally formidable. With proper teamwork, even the meekest gamer can become an engine of destruction.

Following our siege threads and calendar will be crucial, for all members. In addition to guild-wide weekend events, we will also be running scheduled OneSky PvP every other weekday, that will include a variety of activities based on our turnout.

Furthermore, we have preemptively entered into a siege-pact with Draugen, to build a strong and mutual defensive and offensive coalition for whichever prospective campaign we shall seek to share.

In an environment of ever-present danger, one must be ever-vigilant. Through a preemptive coalition, driven by shared goals and values, guilds OneSky and Draugen have entered into a concrete siege-pact. Once we've secured our guilds' respective keeps, we will sustain an ever-vigilant line of communication; so that we're readily able to help defend one-another, and commit our sovereign guild-bodies to tandem tactical scenarios. Both guilds have entirely unique and independent backgrounds in this respect, and combining what each guild brings to the table will create a strong foundation for consistent combat strength; assuredly, something that will evolve as time in-game progresses!

Player vs. Environment: We're all excited to participate in dungeon-diving. Expect regular raiding schedules with an entertaining bunch of folks. Dungeon parties will be both fun, and productive endeavors that cater to all degrees of players; both casual and hardcore. Our objective has been, and will continue to be: to give everyone the opportunity to attain the spoils of even the most challenging dungeons, and through teamwork, collaboration, and a good time in the process. Synergy and teamwork that we've accrued through PvP will help us in our Cyrodiil cave exploration adventures, skyshard hunts, and boss battles; as we've tackled all of the above with tremendous success in the past several months.

Economics:Though our internal network will be very cooperative in helping one-another attain that which we seek, we will also be invested heavily in the acquisition of a keep, and the defense thereof. This will give us an opportunity to broker item transactions to our fellow faction members, as well as our proximity to our coalition-guild, Draugen, will stimulate economic interactions between familiar faces. In addition to this, we are also building a very cooperative and practical crafting-infrastructure. More details can be found on our site! Furthermore, it is our shared imperative to keep every participant in our guild well-equipped. There's an empowered culture of sharing within OneSky, when grinding through PvE content!

Rules: Have fun. Basically, that is the number one rule. Be respectful and friendly to your guildmates. Attend sieges to the best of your ability. Follow news and events on forums. Real life is important, though, and should not be governed by a game. If you plan on taking time off, being inactive, or retiring from the game; let us know in the 'Hiatus' forum. Activity is not mandatory in order to correspond over forums, though (assuming guild size restrictions) your character may be removed on an as-needed basis. If you choose to return from a long hiatus, let us know on forums and we'll re-add you, and bring you up to speed! Beyond that, none of us has a keen love for authority; which kind of plays into the philosophy behind OneSky - we protect our sovereignty by enjoying our freedoms, and protecting the freedoms of one-another. That is what we stand for.

If you're interested in applying, please visit our site and spend a few moments reviewing our code of ethics on our application form, for a more structured look into how we operate.
In the skein of The Elder Scrolls, what is OneSky...

Predating the Ebonheart Pact by many years, One-Sky was originally an Argonian slave who became somewhat of the prodigal folk-hero. Able to rally and inspire the hearts and minds of lowborn Dunmer, wayward Nords, and his fellow slaves with his litanies about ties that transcend race and social standing. Legend says that he was eventually executed by the owner of the plantation in which he was indentured, but independently sourced histories actually suggest that he had a sweet-tooth for Skooma - one that eventually bested him. Over time, a conglomeration of smugglers, fugitives, hired-swords, and various other underdogs from all reaches of Tamriel would take the story of One-Sky as somewhat of an unwritten honor-among-kinfolk, when dealing with one another. This notion broke down the encumbrance of socially prescribed racism, popular class paradigms which might inhibit associations, and various other philosophical and cultural barriers that were erected by popular belief; making for prosperous and equitable partnerships.

In recent history, OneSky guild exists as the evolution of these old stories and ideas; given shape by those who wish to live outside the confines of hegemony and feudal castes. The guild is stewarded wholly by those who fly its banner, and stands for equity and empowerment of those who choose to go their own ways. In a time of war, this code of honor has made the leap into a stalwart and ruthless band that fights for its internal freedom, a dash of pride, and for a stake in the spoils of Cyrodil in which to establish itself.

That being said, OneSky's ongoing story is driven by the character and exploits of those which fly its banner... and though they walk different grounds, they fight under one sky.

OneSky v. Random Alliance
Just another siege

There are many sieges, and random videos, scattered all over the place; but this is all that I felt like compiling. Honestly, we're all about fun in all aspects of gaming. Given, we were a community on Rappelz, which was one of the most unremarkable grindfests ever to be churned out of South Korea; we made the most of it and existed through one another's good company, and being at constant war with the other legacy guilds of the game. Our community has generally kept in touch, over the years, and ES:O is the game that has brought us a good few of us back together. We've already added several new faces, and will continue to organize, slowly and progressively, as launch approaches.

Looking to the past, not every battle went as fluidly as planned...

Four years ago, a new dungeon was being released. Although many players were very excited about raiding the dungeon for spoils, we [OneSky] had our eyes on owning the dungeon. However, ours were not the only eyes drawn toward the new prospect. 7thSyndicate, a recently assembled guild composed of some of our server's most famed and feared raiders, siegers, and community organizers, competed with us for the time attack. They won by nearly a minute; which was a huge gouge to our pride. Their crushing victory over all other time attacks scared away many guilds from challenging them for ownership.

Regardless of their comparative stature, we knew that we had what it took to challenge such a force in both willpower and spirit, as well as individual prowess and teamwork. The following week, we were the only guild to time attack them, and when the dungeon's siege date arrived; we were all aware of our roles.

What followed, was a brutal two hour back and forth war. For every formation we pressed them with, they countered with an equal and opposite formation. With every tactical adjustment we executed, they followed in suit. Many times did we come close to taking their core, and many times did they beat us back to our switch rock (the attacker's defense point- if it's destroyed, the defender wins).

Knowing that the siege would ultimately time out, and realizing that even with our experience, the attrition was exhausting for both of our sides; we quickly devised a plan. Being as we were both patrolling our spawn locations, spawn camping was nearly impossible. With this knowledge, we [OneSky] ceded ground, and fell back past our rock; giving them a secure glimpse of victory over us! Though burnt out and frustrated, we organized among ourselves and snuck two individuals - a crowd controller and a damage dealer (both very skilled in PvP) to their spawn zone. Coming dangerously close to getting booted out, and with only seven minutes left in the siege, we violently peeled them off of our stone, causing them to momentarily lose focus of their spawn location.

For merely two minutes, our two campers were able to stifle our foes from mustering; just long enough for us to rush and take their core - making our foes become the defenders. With only 4 minutes left, our victory had been secured. After the siege, we were completely exhausted. Fortunately, nobody had attacked us for the next month; as we'd needed the break...

This was just one instance of a knock-down, drag-out war. We'd experienced many, in our time; and we expect hope to meet new foes with even greater tenacity on the field of Cyrodiil, than what we'd faced in the past. This also goes hand-in-hand with the values that we share. Our demeanor is laid back, relaxed, genuine, and loyal; but our tenacity and determination has been forged through brutal conditions. Many have come and gone, but we all share fond memories, and look back on those who have retired from our ranks, and from gaming, with true friendship.

If you're generally at home in a laid back, amicable, pragmatic, and friendly environment, but hold fast a personal, indomitable determination that lies just beneath your skin; OneSky is a guild housing many who would empathize with such sentiments.

OneSky vs. "C" Alliance

Above, is an example of an employment of a medium size defense group that fights in rotations; using just enough stopping power to contest a point rather than take it, whilst a smaller defense force holds the other chokepoints to our core, and a stealth-flanking party ambushes them at their staging point to destroy their stone and end the siege. Attrition is also a readily employed factor in our past warfare tactics, and something that we look forward to working into the many aspects of Cyrodiil warfare. Though we come from an intense PvP background, we're ready to attack Elder Scrolls Online in every aspect of gameplay.

OneSky is looking for strong characters and personalities. We run a guild that empowers leadership and collaboration among everyone, as well as a determined investment to achieve our individual goals as well as the goals of the guild at-large. We're incredibly tight-knit and have had our bonds tested through many, many years. We continually practice our values among our veterans, and instill them in our initiate members. We have a special value for those who understand both the burden and contentment of being invested in the leadership an end-game guild; as you will definitely find yourself among like-company here. Being as our structure is egalitarian, inclusive, and incredibly collaborative, recruitment selectively revolves around these values and the values listed in our code of ethics.

Whether you're new to MMOs, or a seasoned veteran; check us out! We'll work together to clear the deepest dungeons, scale the highest mountains, brave the darkest swamps, break our enemies' spears, and drain Tamriel of her beers!

A little bump!

Some PvE fun!

Despite our storied background in PvP and siege, we will also boast an excellent infrastructure for crafting and social networking in and out of game. Though we lack the size and scope of a multi-gaming community, our migratory little troupe has always focused on small-feeling community that takes large steps towards narrow and specified goals, while accommodating, pooling resources, and investing in everyone who participates.

Also, where we come from, we have enjoyed a very low turnover with seldom, selective recruitment. Given, we are slowly mustering for launch by bringing in some new faces, we have learned a great deal from our sieging past (which literally consisted of hundreds of successive sieges, resulting in many members missing family events, and work (in some cases) to maintain our legacy). Moving into ESO, we will work to rebuild what we once had, in a much more practical sense - bonds, responsibility, and family are an enormous value to us both in and out of game. We have recently broken from our typically sovereign alignment to ally with another guild with a PvP background. This alliance will alleviate the strain of either of us unilaterally sieging in Cyrodiil.

If you're interested in getting the low-down on things and investing in what has the potential to be an outstanding guild, check us out!

I've been with OneSky for a couple years now; long past the captivation of the game we started playing together. In game, The selfless attitude of its leaders and members towards the greater good of the guild seems to be what keeps everything well oiled. Devotion to the guild and the cause (and a reckless disregard for the 'rules') prove an even ground for everyone, and creates a strong foundation for both a laid-back attitude and a fierce sense of belonging.

As a female gamer, I can also speak to the total lack of misogynistic bullshit that happens in other guilds- most of us here are mature enough not to do that shit. Many of us enjoy the pleasures of gaming as couples. We've cultivated a lot of respect for each other and it shows up in our disregard for those of differing opinions. We're all equal here, make no mistakes.

Plus, we're friends not just in game but out. Many of us (particularly myself) have traveled around the world to meet each other and share a companionship that surpasses the bonds of a videogame. Istanbul, Berlin, London, Paris, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Houston, New York, Seattle, Vancouver, and Baltimore are just some of the places we've been to see each other. If you join us, we'd love to come and visit you!

A+ guild, would join again.

We're continuously building our infrastructure as launch approaches! If you'd like to check out a guild that is both casual and hardcore, and has a history of getting things done; swing on by! Upon approval, we'll bring you into our out-of-game social circle and get to know you as the person before the player (Just last week, we had a small international guild meetup - more of a get together with tons of restaurants, attractions, pubs, museums, and group road trips).

In terms of our in-game background; a strong social community, teamwork, and siege are our defining factors. If you're a jack of all trades gamer who likes the prospect of being in charge of your own destiny in a guild that will both support and supplement yours and one another's goals; these are some of the foundations we've built upon in the past. We are constantly learning from one-another, improving, and adapting; while holding true to our foundations.

Still mustering to be a strong siege contingent in ESO! We're more fired up now, than ever before. We will work both independently, and with our peers, to be as effective and destructive as possible on the field of battle.

OneSky sieging a larger contingent.

No matter the odds, a combination of stubbornness and tenacity kept victory consistently within our grasp for many consecutive years. We have a history of doing everything together, and enjoying the rewards therein. However, our mentality was always one of bonding, teamwork, silliness, and a stalwart positive attitude. No matter the odds, there is always a way to come out strong in any situation. Our PvE raids were productive and inclusive, as we weren't competitive to any extreme. Sieges, on the other hand, were hard-fought, but our experience, teamwork, and that we were impervious to psychological warfare, had given us a large competitive edge. I've tried to enunciate in previous posts on how our leadership isn't overly centralized - even within squads and parties. The above video is just one example of several members exercising leadership and calling, working in tandem with others who were exchanging tactics (occasionally laced with sexual innuendos) where they were appropriate. Myself, and my compatriots involved in OneSky's new venture into Elder Scrolls Online, really look forward to bringing this mentality and attitude to the game.
