I'm not sure if any of you read this article last month, but I figured I'd share it as the Dragonborn release date on PC was made clear recently after some dramatic fan banter.

In the article, a reddit user discusses future DLC content for Skyrim -- claims which Bethesda doesn't outright reject, but dismisses as filled with "half-truths" and "falsehoods".

Quote:here are 2 more paid DLC expansions planned - both of them true expansions like Dragonborn (one is a bit smaller, one is larger). Without giving a lot away, the next DLC will explore the beginnings of the Nords and Skyrim's culture, as well as the Snow Elves and yes, even the Dwarves. The last DLC will involve the choosing of a new King of Skyrim and the war against the elves.

I'm curious to see where the "beginnings of the Nords and Skyrim's culture" DLC will take place, although I'm assuming it will be smaller type. I think it's safe to say it would stick to Skyrim with the other tiny possibility taking place in some Atmora setting. I think Skyrim is a pretty awesome place, but I feel like some things could be added to make it even better. Minor things like new dungeons and enemy types.

I'm thinking with the "War against the elves" we might see a bit of Cyrodill seeing how they are apparently "adding a few things for modders" and expecting us to recreate Oblivion. That and apparently the White-Gold Tower is on the Skyrim graphical map.

Huzzah.

Although I still need to play Dragonborn on my PC. Go faster time!

I've been hearing rumours about a Redguard DLC , no information yet just speculation.

I wish they could add bigger variety of enemies to Skyrim with future DLC.

If its valid, then it would probably feature settlers from Atmora, Night of Tears and Ysgrammors Companions.

Timetravel concept has already been introduced via toying with the Elder Scrolls

I hope that the "war on elves" and "Redguard" featuring DLC will take us to Hammerfell.

Maybe we meet a ring of horse thieves who are await for their dude Lokir from Rorikstead to show up ;)

But seriosly, Hammerfell is under Aldmeri Dominion´s control. Maybe we will free it. Or collaborate with the usurpators >;). But However. Imagine Orsinium! And Alik´r! And Stros M´Kai! In Skyrim HD quality!

Oh, and upon the Dwarves: Maybe they will return, too ;) Okay, that would be bad, really bad... I don´t like such "lost tech" fantasy anyway.

these are actually older than the dragonborn datamining. And im pretty sure thsoe are wrong.
For example one of those claimed that dragonriding (and horse combat) would be introduced in a DLC set in hammefell. Aperently all of that was BS. who would have guessed?

Same as the war against the elves one. The original announcement about that even went as far as saying well see Cyrodiil in its full Oblivion glory and fighting the thalmor there. RIGHT that sounds perfectly reasonable.

Also do you realy think a war against the thalmor could be a DLC option? how would you implement this.
Youd have to make 2 campaigns. one for the imperials one for the stormcloaks, and what about the players that did not do the civil war questline? Thats not usually how Addons in TES games work (as in having a prerequisit)
And then. Can you think of any reason for a full scale war with the elves? Especialy if you sidet with the empire? The empire is already defeated. They wont fight the elves. Why would the thalmor attack skyrim if its in the hands of the Imperials?
That makes no sense at all.

The only thing that would indicate ANY kind of war action against the Aldmeri Dominion is the final speech of Ulfric, thats it.
So im pretty sure none of this is happening. And while i realy hope spears are coming, i just highly doubt it.

Actually, Tullius also says a second Great War is coming.

By arrow. By blade.
By tooth. By claw.
By shock. By frost. By flame.
The Aldmeri Dominion will dominate Tamriel.
Our enemies will fall until the Throne is ours.

Even if Tullius decides to attack the Thalmor and the Dominion,to bring a full war,it will take atleast months or maybe a year,to repair what was damaged,to get new recruits,to bolster the troops. So we'll just have to wait and see.

Actually there has been a few words said about the 2 new DLCs,one will be larger and one smaller, the smaller one is gonna be about the beggingings of the Aldmer,Nedes and Snow Elves. And the second will be(depending on which faction you chose) Skyrim will pick a new High King/Queen and he/she will take the war to the Thalmor and the Dominion.

Didn't that Altmer bloke who lives in Markarth say in Diplomatic Immunity something like "A second war is definitely coming". While I don't think this will be a DLC its pretty certain that another war is coming. Honestly, I think they'll implement it in the next game, maybe making the Thalmor a lot more evil and powerful to make them 'supreme bad guys' that we have to kill.

there is no evidence for this information beeing true. dont fall for stuff like that.
Ill take this serious when the datamining becomes big again, just like in Dragonborn.

Keep in mind that pretty much the same rumor was in place before Dragonborn. and then nothing.

Yeah, I tend to walk the path of skepticism. I mean, I really like the ideas behind the two other DLCs this guy hints at, but we can't take it for anything more than hearsay.

Still, if this is true, the great war DLC would clearly be the one whose size is larger than that of Dragonborn.

It would be fascinating to see what they would do. The player could spearhead the opening salvo in the war to accomplish a strategic objective, but I don't see the whole conflict in the DLC. If anything, you spearhead the opener, then you get told something akin to, "Hey thanks! Great work! What will we do now? Well, with X accomplished, we'll bring the war to the Thalmor on their own turf."
