There's so much talk going around about Faction vs Faction pvp right now and i can't help but think "what if i hate some players from my faction, can i gun them down or slash them and kill them?". any reports on pvp against same faction members?

But I thought the whole idea was to create a friendly environment within each faction to encourage team work against opposing factions

it could be that, or at least a standard training arena or battle arena for same faction members to compete and stuff.

yes, maybe but you wont have the risks of pvp
Even though they havent been confirmed I hope its a lose everything or some risk at least for those who are brave enough to go into battle.

PVP within the same faction should be like in Lineage 2 (in earlier chronicles) imo. U can attack everyone u want if u r not in a peacezone. BUT if u kill someone who's not attacking back or attacked u before, u get karma! And if u die when u have karma it's possible to drop stuff out of ur inventory.
This would increase pvp, because ppl will try to hunt down PK's (player killers) to get items. In Lineage 2 PK's get a red name until their karma is gone. U can get rid of karma when u earn experience or get killed.

And ofc I would like to see battle arenas. Maybe with platforms for speactators. Would be nice to have for ingame events!

PvP beeing limited to Cyrodiil is a good thing. You know initially i wanted a system like you say. BUT this is not a Sandbox. It should be one, this beeing a TES MMORPG , but its not. So i cannot support the idea. At the end of the day, ganks are not realy enjoyable for anyone. And if your only satisfaction in PvP comes from crushing people that are weaker than you, you realy should not be playing a multiplayer game. thats just bad sportsmanship.

Honestly i disagree of the idea of in-faction PvP that is outside of a controlled, competetive enviroment. But they already said that there will NOT be any instanced PvP in TESO.

Agree. BUT it should be possible to avoid players from attacking other players who r much weaker/much stronger.

oh yess? have you tried that in a game that has that?
I did and it just doesnt work. And i know how not to let people escape. im going to be honest with you. Im an ass in games. and when i can gank people. chances are i will when im bored.

And honestly, always having to watch out for gankers isnt any fun either.

In the only PVP zone of TESO, everyone is scaled to level 50 to make up for their low stats compared to true level 50s. However, level 50 players obviously have mastered their play style and will therefore probably still win.

So I am the only one who wants a more dangerous world (or at least cyrodil), and that getting killed against an opponent from way different league than you is just normal. (Ganking, its such as pesky little cuddly carebear term it makes me sick on my stomach). TES as a world, at least lorewise is extremely brutal. The world is filled with bandits, smugglers, cut-throats, assassins, thieves and all kinds of shady folk. Now, when translated to MMORPG. I'd hate to see this disappear. If someone is too attached to their virtual character, and feels some kind of resentment from seeing the character killed. I sincerely don't think MMORPG's are good for their stress levels.

P.S This morning, I lost my second wizardry character to perma-death.

Let's see. UO, check. AC : DT, Check. Shadowbane, check. Helbreath, check. Darkfall, check. Mortal Online, check. Some asian games I've forgotten, check. Wizardy Online, check. Lineage 2, check. Age of Conan, check.

Yup, and I enjoyed them more than games like Guild wars, WoW, Rift, etc.

To say, I'm always prepared for player encounter, even when killing NPC's, its just back in my head to be "careful". Originated from UO. And if someone manages to jump me, I blame myself. I enjoy "thrill" more than "peace and quiet." Player vs. Player to me is always more enjoyable than Player vs. scripted AI. No matter what the odds.

100% map exploration pls my Dunmer doesnt like invisible walls. pvp should be world wide, protection is only provided in towns and citys that are faction based by noc guards. Seperating players through race is pathetic and racist pls open the faction/race ties

The best pvp is world pvp if there is no world the pvp gets stale. ganking with a group of friends terrorizing an opposite faction city is Wat this should be about
