Faction & Race:
Ebonheart Pact
Argonian
Firstname - Ragnarok

Surname - Fire-Heart

title - The Fanged One

Sex - male

Race - nord

Age - as of the begining of eso he is 2523

Faction - He helped the ebonheart pact in his own way

Appearance - He is slightly below average height with short-ish dark hair with a small beard, Extremely pale skin, a very gaunt face along with bright orange eyes like the sun and triad of brutal scars across his face. His voice is deep and raspy with an aged sound to it, it is very persuasive while being forceful and intimidating.

Personality - Ragnarok is a pessimist nothing has gone right for him in his immortal existence. His life has been filled with misery, disappointment and... Terrible things. Ragnarok is not proud of some of the things he has done but he did them for the good of the ones he loved, even if that means hurting countless people. He is also isolationistic, people haven't always been good to him especially because of his, vampirism. When he sets a goal he'll reach it, that's what makes him a reliable person. Despite being a depressed, lonely outcast he still enjoys the company of people who understand him, who maybe even love him. Over his years he has made countless friends, who he has stood by until their passing. He's loyal, if he has a friend he'll stick by them and protect them until they're gone.

Social Background/Backstory - Ragnarok was born on 980th year of the first era, in Windhelm to a respected and noble family which belong to a long line of warriors. This family was called the "Fire-Hearts" because they are famous for their loyalty and bravery in battle, this already caused problems for Ragnarok as he wasn't much of the warrior type- and his family let him know it. He was quite frankly a disappointment to the Fire-Hearts, a "burden on the family that would rather read books than up hold our honoured name as a warrior, as a true nord!". That's what his father told him everyday. It eventually sparked his leaving of windhelm, that and Gillene Manette. The woman of his dreams. Gillene was a young Breton girl with long black hair, eyes as blue as the sky on a clear summers day and a soft comforting voice that could calm the harshest of anger. She shared Ragnarok's love for magic, they met when Ragnarok foolishly went into a shop expecting to find a book on magic, he was laughed at, mocked and told to leave the store but Gillene was there coincidently looking for the same book. She went to comfort Ragnarok about the incident and they talked... They talked for hours about their fascination with magic and knowledge and over the years they became the best of friends. When Ragnarok was 17 he was forbidden to see her again because she was "A bad influence on an already terrible son". He had finally had enough. He packed his stuff rounded up all the money he had made as an assistant shopkeeper and went to Gillene. He offered a wild opportunity for her, for them both to join the college of winterhold. On this crazy idea they both left Windhelm for good to fulfil their childhood dreams, with only eachother. However when they reached the college only Ragnarok had the ability to enter. Would he leave Gillene to fulfil his dream or would he stay by his only friend, the one he loved? She wanted him to live his dreams and for him the decision was easy... He stayed by her, refusing to give up a chance of a life with her.

They had to stay in winterhold for a while, working in the local tavern to survive. They worked day in day out for 3 years straight until they had enough money from their multiple jobs and other fortunate events to buy a small farm in whiterun. It was only small, but it was enough to start a life. From the ashes of his horrible life in Windhelm, Ragnarok arose to a new life that started with...
The holy bond, marriage. After 7 years of hard work, the farm had gown substantially and they had two children: the eldest was a boy called Marc and the youngest a girl named Freya. Over these years he studied and trained to be the best mage he could be, well the best a farmer and family man could be. Ragnarok and Gillene strived to teach Marc and Freya to be the best they could be, to open and accepting and to be warm and kind to all who they met. They even taught the children some magic! Life was good for Ragnarok, he had a beautiful, caring and warm wife whom he loved with all his life and two wonderful, lively children who were the best they could be. For the first time ever, Ragnarok wasn't being abused and he had a wonderful farm, amazing arcane talent and a perfect family. What more could he ask for?

On his 33rd birthday, his life... Changed. It all started when a companion named Ralskaar came by his farm. Ralskaar was a giant of a man, he was 6ft 6 with arms the size if tree trunks. His beard massive, bushy and untidy like the fur of a feral skeever. However it was a brilliant red, like an inferno engulfing his features: which wasn't a bad thing. His face was beaten, broken and scarred, truly battle worn. He was encased in massive plate armour which was dented and scratched from all the fights, he carried a massive battle axe that could cleave a man in two. At first glance Ragnarok told the kids to hide and he readied an ice spike ready for any danger he would face, but Ralskaar meant no harm. He simply wanted to warn Ragnarok about some nearby vampire sightings. Ragnarok thanked him for his concern and quickly hurried him off, he still wasn't sure if he was going to be a threat. Throughout the day he was on watch, worried sick about the vampire or more likely a bandit attack. However Gillene, with her soothing voice, persuaded him to stop. That would be the worst decision of his life.

Later that night, a vampire attacked. They were all asleep at the time but it happened so fast, so silently. Ragnarok awoke to find a monstrous figure about to feast on his wife, he kicked him away and stood to fight the beast. A struggle ensued, many spells were cast and the silence and peacefulness of the night was shattered by the screams of a terrified family. As Ragnarok's life was about to end Ralskaar burst in and cleaved the beasts head clean off. He was patrolling the area when he heard the commotion. Ragnarok thanked him and paid him what he could. The next day Freya fell ill and Ragnarok had to begin a journey to Whiterun to save her. However he could not afford the medicine needed so he did the first of many terrible things. Late at night he broke into the store and took everything he needed. When he got back the next night he just managed to save his precious daughter. The following night something happened, he woke up in a frenzy of sweat and terror. A red mist engulfed him, all he could see was red but when this bloodlust ended where the redness used to be, his wife slept. Gillene was now pale and looked weak, when she woke up she found Ragnarok cowering in the shade then. The bite marks. When she noticed she had been feasted upon she burst into tears. Her husband had been replaced by an abomination, hated and feared by all.

Ragnarok said his goodbyes to Marc and Freya, who were too young to understand what was going on, then he said goodbye to his love. They both didn't want him to leave but knew it was the best thing for the family. That day was the last time he would ever see his family. The worst part was he left them with piles of debt and he knew they wouldn't be able to afford to keep the farm open and eventually they'd starve. It was with this thought in mind that Ragnarok decided he would do everything in his power to help them. Over the next 7 years Ragnarok robbed, burgled and mugged any one he could. At some points in his life he even killed for money. But every 3-4 months he would leave a stash of money and a note at his old farm the reads "Here's your payment, times have been tough but I managed to work up the money to pay you back, your humble friend- Aarthar Karlas." Ragnarok always used made up names to not bring too much attention to himself, as luck would have it was a known fact that many people actually did owe the farm money but Gillene knew it was Ragnarok. Once Ragnarok became more well known in his 'business' he was entrusted with smuggling people over the borders. On one job he had to smuggle a khajiit named Ra'Dargo into Skyrim from morrowind, Ra was an escaped slave and small time skooma dealer. However the job went horribly wrong and 5 dunmer were left dead. This meant Ragnarok and Ra'Dargo had to lay low and that they couldn't reach their contact in cyrodil in time, Ra'Dargo was officially stuck in Skyrim and after that failed job no one wanted to hire Ragnarok for anything. But luckily Ra'Dargo had a plan...

Ra'Dargo taught Ragnarok how to make skooma and they sold it in small quantities to a low number of customers until Ragnarok perfected his own special recipe that made 2 times more addictive while only using 3/4 of the ingrediants previously used. With this new skooma recipe they took all of Skyrim by storm and soon they controlled and skooma dealing kingdom that covered all of Skyrim but parts of the reach. Monthly payments were now being made to his family and they were protected 24/7. His business went on for another 25 years until Ragnarok just. quit. He had enough with the criminal life
and just wanted to take his money and settle down, he didn't want to hurt people anymore. He bought a large wood cabin in a wooded area in whiterun and just lived. This is where he could finally study the arcane arts like he always wanted to, while making sure Gillene and their children were safe. By this time Marc and Freya had gone their separate ways. Marc became the owner of a very successful tavern and Freya followed her heart and became a student at the college of winterhold, of course Ragnarok couldn't see them being like he is but he always thought of them.

Gillene died at the age of 80 on the 20th of frostfall 1E 1060. She was living with Marc in her old age. It was on that day that Ragnarok decided to leave. He had too many memories in Skyrim and had done so much wrong there. He packed up everything he needed and left the rest of the money to Marc and Freya. He travelled all around tamriel, learning more about magic and himself. He travelled for centuries trying to find purpose. All he did was hide away from society, growing more powerful each and every day. Sometimes he would end up hurting innocents and he would hurt ones who deserved it. Ragnarok had no motivation in his life, no goal. Over the years he has come to accept his vampirism and even embrace it, becoming somewhat mad with power but somehow down to earth at the same time. Ragnarok became known as "the fanged one" by his enemies, the ones who fear him. He has some crazy tales to tell of his journeys but that is a story for another time...

Best Memory - Marrying Gillene

Worst Memory - Having to leave his family

Skills - Over the millennia he has become a master of all the schools of magic and is naturally perfect at sneaking making him the ultimate predator that hunts from the safety of the shadows. He is also an expert enchanter and of course can create the most addictive skooma ever created but that recipe stays with him and he is definitely not telling anyone.

Challenges for the Character - Being a vampire he is an outcast and has difficulty making friends. He is slow to trust and is very intimidating which adds to his 'lone wolf' personality. He done many terrible things in his life but hates himself because... He liked every second of it. However he is very reliable and will get anything he sets his mind to done.

Birthsign - Shadow

Religious Views - He has lived too long and seen too many bad things to worship Aedra or Daedra.

Hope you enjoyed reading, feedback is really appreciated. I know it's really long but I had to write up this idea before any of it was forgotten. I also lost attention while writing some of it so that'll be something to polish up. I also need to refine his story but it was best for me to write a draft of his life so I can see what bits to use and what not to.

I don't understand something and maybe you can help me. You're the second person I see to have created a character that, although at core is not that bad, happens to be practically a demigod. Because your profile is much more competent than the one I've last seen (who also happens to be of an extremely old vampire - in his case, 3353 years old), I'll hope that you will answer a question I've been having:

Why? Why make such a ridiculously aged character, and thus eliminate all the possible role-play caused by a character being inexperienced/young/still learning, when you can have the exact same background story adjusted to a vampire who is, for example, 70 years old? He would still be powerful but not overly so, still experienced but not overly so.

Oh this guy isn't for rp'ing, I might possibly make a story on his life that's more focused and detailed and isn't crammed into the backstory of his profile. But yeah I understand what you're saying, it's ridiculous to make a character like this for role playing as there'd be next to no character development in terms of learning new things and growing up in general.

Just saying, you know what Ragnarok is in Norse mythology right? it's not exactly something you'd use for a name.

Another thing I just wanted to point out is that 2000+ years would put him during the dragon break so it might help to take that into account, I'm not criticising just pointing that out.

Yeah I know what Ragnarok means, it's a really fun word to say and I couldn't think of any other Nordic sounding names :P I've heard about the dragon break but I'm not too sure what it is so I didn't include it, is it an important event worth taking into account?

It is a pretty significant event but I'll let you decide whether it's worth taking into account. Click here to read the UESP article about Dragon Breaks.

I like the character and I didn`t see you roleplaying as him unless as a villain in an rp that you were doing eg Morvus Aires in Catching wind

Thanks, I haven't actually used him at all, I might though. I am thinking of making a story for him though, like a detailed account of his life that isn't crammed into a profile. It would show some character development from someone with nothing to someone with everything then all that's stripped from him, it could be good if I put time and effort into it. I don't intend him to be a villain but an anti-hero sort of guy like Dexter from Dexter or Walter from breaking bad. I'd like to here what you think about a story of him, it'd be something to do until I get assassins creed 4 :P
