Hey guys
It's great to see a thriving message board for this upcoming game, I hope you're all looking forward to it as much as I am!

I've done a quick search of this forum but couldn't find much, so here comes my question.

As someone who used to enjoy raiding in WoW back in the day, this is something I will be looking for in TESO as well. Does anyone know/can anyone link me to any information regarding this?

If there isn't much info as of yet, there's nothing wrong with a bit of speculation. How many players do you think raids should have? Do you think it will be a focus of the devs? Who would the raids be focused around/where would they be based?

I would personally like to see pretty sizable groups, 20 minimum for a full-sized raid. As for locations and characters, I'm assuming Molag Bal would be involved somewhere as they've already said he would be the main antagonist. Not too sure about where such a raid would be based though, post your thoughts.

I don't think the devs have said a whole lot about raiding. They mentioned they will have heroic dungeons. They also said something about open world bosses that would require multiple groups working together as a raid. But yeah, not a whole lot on actual WoW style raids. It wouldn't surprise me if they did have them. It's just something we don't have a whole lot of information on yet. They also said there will be character progression beyond the level 50 cap.
1. Yes heroic dungeons
2. Yes open world bosses
3. Unknown yet on instanced Raids.

I just wanted to edit and add a link to Curse's wiki which mentions it a little bit: http://www.tesowiki.com/The_Elder_Scrolls:_Online

I only still play wow cause of raiding with my friends (which hasn't been happening much lately since there aren't any guilds that raid on the weekend only right now for whatever reason), so I hope there will be an awesome PvE end game for ESO. I really look forward to the detailed and long leveling process (it better not be as quick and simple as wow's leveling has turned into. I want leveling and progression to actually take effort and time.), but to keep me playing for a really long time its gonna need a good end game. I don't do alts much and love sticking with one character.

Please, lets think that this is going to be TESO not WoW, so if the dev team is innovative is good, if not... well, why TESO if is going to be the same as WoW with nicer graphics... and khajiits, and... screw WoW, make a copy if you want ZeniMax, but finish TESO Sick

Agree with frenchiveruti
I also hope there is no end game as such and you can keep playing and playing. I find having and "end, that's it over" makes you loose the want to play after a while. But Do hope the Dev start to give out some more info to feed the flame.

I'd like to see a lot lot lot of world bosses (more of an FF11 feel) I don't mind if I have to wait hours for a boss to spawn then wipe and lose the tag it's all part of the experience. Instanced raids wouldn't be bad either though but only if they're ridiculously hard.

Here's everything we know so far:

1) Raids will be in the game, and there will be both instanced and public raid bosses.

2) They are still tweaking raid size, 16 and 20 were two sizes they mentioned experimenting with.

3) Raids will be the culminating encounters for "adventure zones" which are high level content updates that will add content ranging from solo to raid.

4) Without explicitly stating that ESO will have raid progression, ZeniMax developers (Paul Sage in particular) have implied that this will be a facet of the game, by recognizing the fact that in many ways "the game starts at endgame" and there is a need to provide challenging content for max-level players.

Hope this helps!

You guys are basing this too much off WoW, eso game devs specifically said they dont want that crowd, so im sure they will think of a new way for raids. lets hope

Atropos got it covered, speaking of, are you the same atropos from Tamriel foundry?

As for the Adventure zones, those actually have been detailed a bit further, however id suggest you to read the hand on previews as they have quite a detailed look at one of the adventure zones that actually happens early in the game, wich led to some speculation on my side that those adventure zones actually arent late game only stuff.

I cant remember them actually talking too much about the raidsize so that was some new info for me there, but honestly i would not expect 40 person raids. 20 person max. Im not sure if its a good thing but then again. TES doesnt lend itself too much for a raiding instance.

Tho i still hope we can go to Sotha Sils clockwork city, and defeat the first Imperfect (that was dead by the time of morrowind)
Probably save him from some experiment gone wrong. Then again, he IS a god....

Thorin Darkheart youre getting it wrong. Endgame means exactly that its NOT over when you hit max level. One of the biggest Problems most MMOs have when they release is the lack of things to do when you reach the max level. Actually WoW kinda suffered from that too, as far as i remember most high tier raids in vanilla such as molten core were only implemented quite a while after launch. However since WoW is now old and the vanilla days are forgotten in the new players.

Most MMOs cant get away with having no endgame content at launch (wich is a shame, because the lack of endgame is what seems to be the killer for most MMOs these days, GW2 suffers heavily from it, so did TSW and SWTOR had especialy big problesm with it as the endgame that was there was so radically different from what happened befroe that, that people just stopped caring)

I haven't been able to find anything where they spoke about 16-20 man instanced raids. Do you have a link where a developer spoke about this? I'd love to read it or watch the video of the interview if there is one. =D

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hoping for a wow clone either. My favourite 2 games of all time are Morrowind and Skyrim. First and foremost i want it to immerse me like a single player Elder Scrolls game does, but allow me to enjoy it with friends. However from what I've heard on many different podcasts/youtube reviews I'm already promised this. All I'm looking for are ways to make this a perfect game and give me many months worth of good playtime. The most tried and tested way of doing this after hitting the level cap is through raiding.
Thanks for all your answers so far :)

while raiding is certainly not a TES feature, raiding is one of the very few FUN features in MMORPGs so i definitly want to see it.

Actually they said they are making this game to suit ES players and MMO players ...
