I'm a fan of the Elder Scrolls games. And I love war-related roleplays, so why not combine the two? Yes, my roleplay indeed takes place in Tamriel, and it takes place after the events of Skyrim. The Aldmeri Dominion have attacked Cyrodiil and the Second Great War has begun. We're going to be in a party, and we're going to travel across Tamriel, fighting in many battles and engaging in conflicts, among other things, as we try to find allies and save the Empire from destruction.

Story
In recent years the Dragonborn has appeared in Skyrim. As his destiny suggested, the Dragonborn brought an end to Alduin and his dragons, saving Skyrim and probably the whole of Tamriel. With the dragon-threat now gone, the Civil War raged on. In the end it was a stalemate, so both sides called a truce, resulting in the Empire pulling out. Ulfric Stormcloak became High King of Skyrim shortly after. Fortunately, Tullius and his legions were recalled and placed on the Cyrodiilic border to protect it from future attack.

Even with the dragon-threat gone, and the civil war over, things were not peaceful. Emperor Titus Mede II is assassinated by the Dark Brotherhood. The Empire is thrown into complete chaos and is ripe for exploitation. The Aldmeri Dominion attacks. Anvil, Kvatch, Skingrad, Bravil, and Leyawiin all fall simultaneously to the sudden invasion of Cyrodiil. All Imperial troops and refugees retreat to the Imperial City, readying to defend it at all costs. Meanwhile, Hammerfell tries to repel an invasion from the Dominion, High Rock prepares an army to help the Empire, and the Argonian Empire to the east lies in wait for an opportune moment to present themselves. Cyrodiil needs help, from the Bretons, the Orcs, the Redguards, the Nords, and perhaps even the Argonians.

But our story starts in Anvil. Before the war. Who you are, why you're there, and what you've done is up to you, but one thing is certain: we'll all be fighting for our lives soon.

Let the role-playing begin!

Brand looked out over the calm horizon from the lighthouse. That was his favourite spot since he moved here. As far as the resident population was concerned, he was just a young Nord who wanted to get away from the fighting of the civil war. They never suspected (or at least openly accuse, he was sure there were mutterings) that he was a Stormcloak spy. With Anvil being the closest port to Summerset Isles (he refused to call it by its other name) he was able to watch Thalmor diplomats come in and out of the region. However, two weeks ago, they stopped. They usually came once a week.
And so Brand looked out, for ships. Not carrying diplomats, but warships...

(I haven't done this in a while, so sorry if I'm rusty, lol)

Svai, a young Dunmer male sat behind Brand on the roof of the lighthouse, with a bottle of mead in one hand, and a book in the other. Svai decided to go with Brand to the Lighthouse so he could finally catch up on his reading. He was enjoying the silence, and feel of the chill wind flowing all around him. But the sound of Brand's voice broke him from his trance.

"Wha-" Brand muttered, confused.

Svai looked up from his book at his friends distraught face. Brand looked like he had just seen Alduin himself.

"What is it?" Svai asked.

Brand took a second, he was breathing pretty heavily. Then he said, "I was watching the shoreline, looking for...the sun. Yes, I watch the sun." Well done Brand, looking for the sun was a brilliant answer. Shut up. "Anyway, look." he pointed. There was not one ship. Nor a dozen. There were thousands.

Beowulf had been walking along the shoreline, he took gaze at the lighthouse.

"Brand my good friend are yo.."

He had paused as from a distance on the sea he could see thousands of ships making way to the shore front.

"By the gods.. Is it an invasion?"

"No, I invited them for a party. Yes its an invasion!" Brand practically shouted. His sword and bow were in his basement, but he couldn't get there with Svai and Beowulf tailing him. "Go and tell the count or... something. I need to do something alone."

"I've heard rumors of an invasion by the Aldmeri Dominion, but to think it to be true is madness! They know the cost of war is far to high should they invade us."

Beowulf had took a deep breath in as he'd exhale lightly, his eyes fixed on the ships as they slowly approach land; his palm had been shaking while he had try to remain calm he knew what will come in the next days as Beowulf had already seen many of his friends and family die in battle.

"Svai go! Warn the count!"

Svai stood, confused as to what they were shouting about. He looked over the railing of the lighthouse and was dumbfounded at the shear number of warships that were sailing their way. As he looked closer he could faintly see the banner that was raised on the first few ships.

"The Dominion? What are they-" he asked as his voice began to fade.

Realizing Beowulf was yelling at him, he quickly agreed and started to run towards the castle.

"Don't do anything stupid 'till I get back!!" he said as he disappeared over the hill.

"You there! Boy!"

It was a foreign, yet familiar sounding voice for the young man. Svai turned his head, looking for the source of the unknown voice.

Again, the voice called out, "Child, here, on the docks!"

This time, Svai found the man calling to him. It was another Dunmer -- a man wearing an ornate robe. He quickly left his position at the lighthouse and ran to the man. When he reached the docks, he noticed the man's robe was a rather traditional looking garb -- bearing symbols and letters his parents had taught him as a child.

"Who are you?", he asked.

"I am known as Ryk'Mar, among our people."

"Well I've never heard of you, you can't be that well known", Svai retorted.

Ryk'Mar replied with a grin, "I've served our people for quite a few years now, and I suspect my role will be more important now than ever."

"Our people, you mean other Dunmer?" Svai asked, clearly puzzled.

"That's correct. You know, we aren't as sparse and rare as you might have been told here in Anvil. Since the calamity at Red Mountain and the savage advance of the Argonians, our people have struggled long and hard to rebuild and repopulate. I, myself, have been involved in many projects from rebuilding military forces, to reintroducing our vibrant culture to a new generation -- all from Solstheim, a white rock that you've probably never heard of. Recently, I was asked to lead an effort to locate and bring our brethren back home to contribute to a new and strong society."

As Svai began to respond, orders rang out from the guards. "Everyone! Get behind the walls! Inside the city, now!"

Brand cursed. He'd hoped to get away from both. He didn't want to have to do this...
"Beowulf, look!" he called pointing in the opposite direction. He slowly backed behind Beowulf an picked up a rock.
"I'm sorry Beowulf."he whispered and slammed the rock into Beowulf's temple.

Svai, still confused as to what Ryk'Mar was trying to tell him, noticed the sudden outburst of hostility from Brand. He cut his conversation short with his Dunmer brethren and ran to Beowulf's side. 'He's unconscious...' Svai murmured to himself. He glared at Brand, looking for words thats never came. Finally, all he could muster was...

"What in Oblivion are you trying to do Brand?" Svai said just loud enough for Brand to hear. He stood up from Beowulf's side and pulled out two daggers that were under his jacket. He looked at Brand again, and said something that confused the Nord.

"You'd better arm yourself Brand. The Dominion will be at our Shores shortly." He then turned around to face Ryk'Mar. "We'll have to continue this later my friend. I wager you know how to fight?"

There came a man in steel armor, armed to the teeth, looking for some fight and he asked the Dunmer Svai "Where is it that I can fight the Akaviri?" asked Ulfgar and drew out his sword "Need a demostration of my skills?" Ulfgar showed every move he knew and waited for an impression.

Beowulf had been fading in and out of conscious his pupils had been dilated, he had been moving his palms around only to realize that he had not been moving them at all. His vision slowly faded as his last Image imbedded in his mind was that of a firing ball of death being casted out from one of the boats.

Beowulf softly muttered:

"Br..r.....and w.... hy ....."

He had lost conscious as he had been drag back into the city walls.

Svai and Ryk'mar look at the steel-clad man, then looked back at each other.

"I'm not sure this gentleman knows who the Dominion are", said Ryk'mar.

"Does it matter?", Svai asked. "I mean, its all bad, right?"

"Absolutely not, so long as he knows how to swing that thing on his back, I think he'll do fine".

Svai looked curious, "You never answered my question, Ryk'mar..."

With his right hand, Ryk'mar pulls back on part of his robe covering his waist, revealing an unusual mace. It looked ancient, adorned with Dunmeri symbols, yet still looked sturdy and strong. "Where did he get that......" Svai wondered.

"You'll see, soon enough", Ryk'mar retorted. "Is your friend alright? He's bleeding quite a bit. Quite an interesting group you associate with..."
