What kind of ships would be used by different races in tes? What kind of tactics would be used e.g. ramming, boarding etc...

Let's be honest here, the invention of the cannon has not happened so its mostly ramming and boarding as well as arrows I'm guessing. I haven't seen javelins in Tamriel so none of them. Most ships seem pretty small so I don't know wether they have the capacity for ballista. The TES series never goes into the navel scene really.

Well... Stros M'Kai had cannons and they were mentioned in Daggerfall, so atleast before the warp in the west, Bretons used cannons. What is not surprising, as Hammerfell is a place of low use or acception of magic in everyday life. And Bretons... well, they are known for their talent of magic, but not for its usage. While Elves and Imperials would use magic projectiles - using mages as cannons - especially the Redguard are no friends of magic. The Nords use their Thu'um. And there are Ballistas, the Dwemer had them and there are crossbows. So the Redguards use cannons to counter the stuff of the others.

And to the small ships... you forget the downscaling factor. No ship seen in Skyrim nor Oblivion or anywhere was of an realistic seize.

The Bretons do use magic when they fight, a naval battle that they were involved in named "The battle of the firewaves" wasnt named "Firewaves" without a reason... The Bretons probably use more magic in battles, including the naval ones.

I know ballista is used and has been invented but hadn't seen it on a ship in TES and doubt it cause the ships are small, like you said due downscaling.

But I didn't know that the cannon had been invented and used, thank you for enlightening me. Much apriciated.

Sorry, no thu'um for Nords in naval battle. There have been no known Dragonborn during the time of TESO, and I doubt Greybeards would board battle ships, let alone use their shout in combat.

Tongues have ever been among Nords. Every Nord can wield the Voice to some extent. Dragonborns are the exception, as are Greybeards. The Greybeards are just a religious group, meditating and studying the 'way of the voice' since Jurgen Wind-Caller. They are the best, for dedicating their entire life to the stidy, and the most famous. But even before them there have been voice masters, like the ones mentioned in the Forelhost yournals, who were probably few, but enough and used as siege machines on the battle field. Also most Dragon cultists (later Draugr) were capable of using the Voice. Without being Greybeards or Dragonborns.

This was the first era, of course. But Zenimax wrote, the Thu'um is a 'long lost mystery' in TESO times. What does not make sense. It would be an even 'longer lost mystery' in the forth era. Which it is not. Another example how careless Zenimax is with the lore.

Of course, they won´t give the Thu'um to Nord players. For balancing. Also Skyrim fan boys.

Possible but they would be very expensive and for a prolonged combat: very expensive/hard to make/find=VERY bad.

...yes. That's why I added "during the time of TESO".

The reason it had been "lost mystery" in second era, while later on seemingly everyone and their mothers knew about it might be related to the rise of Tiber Septim. He was born some 200 years after the events of TESO, and, being a Dragonborn, his rise could have some effect on Thu'um becoming more commonly known than before.

-The Nords will have a Viking style warfare, with longboats and aggressive sailing
-The Argonians will use their aptitude in swimming to board ships
-The Dunmer like to use quick small ships
-The Redguards will use a more organised Egyptian warfare
-The Orcs are in-land and won't sail
-The Bretons I imagine will use that of the style of English/French sailing of the 1100s
-The Altmer I'm sure will be very organised in the way they sail
-The Bosmer don't do too much sailing because they don't use Valenwood wood
-The Khajiit use guerrilla tactics to take down larger ships.

The Argonians wouldn't swim to ships, that's absurd. The ships would be going a great deal faster than them in a good wind. Redguards are NOT based on Egyptians. They'd however use ships like...

Bretons and Imperials seem to use the same kind of ships, like 1400's-1700's style ships. You can see a Breton ship in the distance in one of the trailers for eso that looks like that and for imperial ships; just reference oblivion.

What I meant was that Argonians would incorporate their prowess in actually being able to swim like alligators into sailing.
