(Still) worth buying?

Hi, I like to know if the game is still worth buying, today? I'm talking about the basic game for a start, not (yet) the Morrowind expansion. I'm a huge fan of the elder scroll games, I've played Oblivion and Skyrim for months, even years on Playstation! I have never played a MMORPG though. That's what stopped me from buying it sooner… I like the scenery, the freedom to walk around in the huge open world, clearing dungeons and caves now and then and most of all the freedom to do whatever you like whenever you like! Main quest, clearing a dungeon, side quest, fishing, gathering thing, just stroll around enjoying the huge world, and so on... Since I've never played a MMORPG before and not any of friends are playing the game (They are more into FIFA, racing games and shooters, which I like to from time to time..)so the intention is to play it mostly SOLO . At my own pace, doing whatever I want, whenever I want. A long story short, I'd like to play the game like it was Skyrim or Oblivion, but in a huge open world. I'd like to hear what the greatest differences are between ESO and for example Skyrim? Is it still worth buying, years after release? And most of all, should you recommend the game to a gamer like me? Thanx for your opinion!
