Now, has anyone heard any information regarding this "Morality" system? To me, it sounds like an criminal / alignment system with a different brand name.

Also it was specifically mentioned with thieves guild.

Could this mean we are allowed to perform illegal actions at the cost of "morality"?

This all I've found @ mmorpg.com:

Quote:•Morality and criminality is expected to be added after launch.
•Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are coming, likely soon after launch.

This from joystiq.com

Quote:Another thing that long-time players of The Elder Scrolls are surely familiar with is robbing entire towns blind by looting every last wheel of cheese from the poor townsfolks' cupboards. Those players will be happy to know that this capability returns in TESO but in an understandably more limited fashion. While every single urn and crate isn't lootable, many are. And unfortunately, no, you can't put a basket on a shopkeeper's head and then rob him blind. In fact, most of the containers I came across contained crafting materials, which were useless to me because crafting hasn't been implemented, but the devs assured me that crafting will be quite valuable in the finished game.

* Don't know if this 2nd information relates to the "Morality System" per say .. but it answers 2 questions I had satisfatorily - Yes, you can kill a whole town or all the guards & especially that CRAFTING will be quite valuable in the finished game. YaY!!!!

ps-I wrote this post at home and edited it here at work; TESOF should feel honored because you have taken over Everquest 2's 'stolen moments' spot in my life, when I have a few minutes of internet time between RL concerns. lolol

TESO - - Multiplayer: "M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you." M'aiq the Liar.

"Va Khaj Dar - Khajiity's united? M'aiq will join!" M'aiq the Liar

Its going to be very interesting.

ESO is looking to be what Zenimax says it is, a single player RPG with multiplayer capability.

God, I can't wait.

We're going to have a few bugs here and there regardless of dev time. I'm pretty sure they're going over it with a fine toothed comb.

Thus, I can't wait to play!

I'm not worried about "normal" bugs since i'm used to them...
The problem are the quest breaking ones, missing items, items that work only one time and then break.

Hope they will improve the morality sistem, the ghost/god guard appearing from nowere break the immersion.
One time in skyrim i've stolen a carrot, one kid saw me, and immediatly a whole army of guards stormed inside the little windmill...

...Since when did an Elder Scrolls game have a morality system? 0.o The fact that the series doesn't usually go for that easy good/evil dichotomy is part of why it's so good... Though if they avoid the Bioware tendancy to frame it that way and make it something else (Legal/illegal, as implied elsewhere... or Anuic/Padomaic?) it could work, I guess.

Count only the happy hours.

I guess devs thought "Your crime has been reported!" wouldn't be an functional system in an MMORPG.

I'm assuming because having 20,000 criminals in the same little village isn't really enforceable for NPC guards.

all we can say right now is assumptions. It will probably has something to do with phasing. because a crime and punishment system like in an MMORPG doesnt quite work.

When they say 'Morality System' they are not talking about Character Allignment, are they? How some games have Good/Good, Neutral/Good, Neutral/Evil. I find that more limiting than just creating a character, playing him/her & see where it leads them by their actions.

Some games actually put you on a world-side, evil or good, and your character choices and world you play are restricted that way. We are already restricted in area by which alliance we choose so I hope for no more restrictions upon character choice.

I don't think its going to be the DnD style archetypes. Perhaps a crime system -- i.e. stealing someone's chickens or crops for food, etc.

And before you say anything Sordak, yes, this is conjecture.

I am hoping that it is crime/justice system more akin to the single player games rather than a "morality" system of good vs evil. I don't like being forced to play a side, I like remaining grey.

I believe they'll just call the "criminal system" a "morality" system. Perhaps criminal behavior drops down your "morals towards your faction".
