Part 1 – Introduction to Mars and Korangar

Marshall “Mars” Everwood, Son of Aldain and Mira Everwood, was born in Skingrad, Cyrodiil. From birth, in 2E 556, his father knew he wasn't a normal child. He was always getting into fights and causing trouble around the city. Aldain had to do something and fast.
A couple days past, and Aldain stumbles across an old friend. They sat down and shared stories. The friend spoke of a camp where trouble-bound young boys can go to be disciplined and taught. Aldain was happy to hear of this.
He rushed home and packed Marshall's satchel – obviously, he wasn't going to do it - . Aldain took Marshall to the rendezvous point where the carriage would pick the children up. It was very rare for 9 year old boys to ride carriages, seeing as they were only used for royalty and specialty events. Marshall boarded the carriage and began the “ride of his life”.
Marshall didn't know what he was getting himself into. To him, it was just a boys camp – for fun - , not a discipline camp. And nobody knew what really awaited him at the camp.

After several long hours, the carriage finally arrives in Cheydinhal at the base of the Valus Mountains. The children disembarked the carriage and followed the instructions given by the superiors. The Head Superior spoke to the children for a while, then the children broke off into their cabins.
While Mars was settling in, it came to his attention that someone is standing next to him. Mars looked up with a look of confusion. “Uh, can I help you.” Mars said with a snotty tone. The strange Dunmer boy was smiling like the eight divines had blessed him just then... Until Mars spoke. His face turned from joyful to joyless in a matter of seconds. “Look, I came here to make friends. If you want to play that game, consider it begun. The boy pushed Mars. When Mars realized the boy wasn't joking he pushed back.
Just as they were about to get seriously violent, another boy stepped in and stopped the fight. “Back off, Psora!” He demanded. He looked at Mars. “Sorry about my friend here. He is very easily brought to anger. I'm Korangar, who're you”? Mars looked puzzled. “I'm Marshall Everwood, Most people just call me Mars”. Korangar's chin arose and his posture improved. “Well, Mars, I am the superiors helper. So anything I say goes. But don't worry, I don't abuse my privilege.” Korangar explained with great confidence.
Throughout the weeks that followed, Mars and Korangar became closer together that just camp friends. They were as close to brothers and two boys could get. Korangar explained his dream of joining the Imperial Legion. When camp was over, they went their separate ways, promising to meet back once again to join the Imperial Legion.

16 years later, Mars meets up with Korangar once again to join the Imperial Legion. While walking through the Imperial City they overheard a conversation about a elite group of warriors being formed to scout out the Old Kingdom. Mars and Korangar approached the men with caution. “Did you say 'scout out the Old Kingdom'?” Korangar asked. The men look at the boys with confusion. “Yes. No one has ever gone in to the Old Kingdom and returned to speak of it. That is why they are signing up anyone with enough fighting skill. Mars and Korangar looked and each other, then, without missing a beat, turned around and ran at full speed towards the castle.
After a long debate, they were finally able to talk the General into letting them prove their skill. Mars sparred with one of the trainers. He had much skill and the General was impressed.
Korangar stepped up to the plate. And for the first time in Mars's life, he had a thought of disbelief and doubt in Korangar. The trainer raised his sword and readied his shield. Korangar did the same. The trainer advanced before him with great force and a battle cry that could scare a buzzard off a gut wagon. What happened after that is hard to explain. But the next thing anyone in the training yard saw. was the trainer on his back with Korangar's blade barely touching the trainers neck. The General was in awe, as was Mars.
The General immediately signed Korangar up. “What about Mars?” Korangar asked. Mars looked at Korangar with a look of surprise. The General calmly spoke to Korangar with the voice of a loving mother. “Listen, Korangar. You have an amazing gift. A gift that only one in a million have. But your friend here doesn't. And you have that which we are looking for”.
Korangar looked back at Mars. Mars looked at Korangar. So many thoughts were running through Mars's head. “Well That's the end of that. Good Luck, Ko...”. “No! If Mars can't join, Then erase my name”. Mars face lit up like the lanterns of Sovngarde. The General was shocked. “But son, you have a gift that we can not let slip though our hands”. Korangar became as serious as Talos himself. “Then I believe you have a member to welcome.”

Part 2 - Ysgramor and Naiek.

The mission had begun. The group was introduced to a man by the name of Ysgramor. He claimed to be the leader of the group. He explained that they were splitting the five hundred soldiers into five groups of one hundred each. They started out from the Imperial City, Heading north to the Old Kingdom.
When they arrived they set up camp. Not 3 hours after their arrival they were attacked by several Snow Elves. “No wonder this place has been unoccupied for so many years” Ysgramor mumbled as the battle raged. The snow elves kept coming and coming. Mars and Korangar fought along side each other.
They both took a step back over a patch of soft dirt. The patch broke sending them rolling down the side of the mountain. When they woke up several hours later, it was already morning. “For the love of Talos. We must of gotten knocked out from the fall. I don't hear any fighting.” Korangar said. Mars looked around. “We best climb the mountain and begin looking. What Mars and Korangar didn't realize is that they fell into a small valley from the west, when they started climbing, they climbed to the east, towards Morrowind.
As soon as they got to a trail on the side of the mountain, they came across a traveling Argonian named Naiek Kaaven. He said he was searching for a group of soldiers looking to claim the Old Kingdom as their land. Mars and Korangar explained their situation. They shared stories and battle techniques. They agreed to accompany each other on their search.
They search for three whole days. On the third night, they set a fire and got ready to sleep. The fire was getting low on wood, so Korangar decided to go gather some more. About twenty or so minutes after he left, Mars and Naiek heard a scream. They immediately jumped up, grabbed their weapons, and rushed west towards the sound. They come across four Snow Elves. They had killed Korangar. Mars and Naiek surprised them and killed them. They spent many hours of grief, until they fell asleep. The next morning they awoke and buried Korangar. Mars wanted to say some words to Korangar's grave. This is what he said:

“Korangar, not only were you a great warrior, you was a great friend. you would have given your life for me, and in a sense, you did. You were a man of great honor, and will always be remembered as that. Korangar, you may have died, but, you will never leave. Thank you”.

They packed up their things and continued west. They came upon the edge of a cliff. Across the way, they could see Ysgramor's camp. Just as Mars was about to slide down the cliff, Naiek stopped him. “Mars, remember how you said 'Korangar will always be remembered'”. “Yeah...” Mars said curiously. Naiek was puzzled. “How do you plan to accomplish that? I mean, I highly doubt the group will have him known for this”. “I don't know. But I don't want anyone to ever die like that. I wish I could teach all of Tamriel how to defend themselves.” Mars confessed. Naiek looked as him with the look of assurance that a father gives to his son before he goes to war. “What if we could... In Korangar's honor. We could start a discipleship!” Naiek Explained. “Naiek, you are a genius. Forget Ysgramor. Forget the Imperials. Let's teach the world to fight!”

And just like that, the Disciples of Korangar was formed. They will teach the great people of Tamriel, both the young and the old, how to defend themselves from the evil that lies ahead... “Grandpa, I was asking about the planet Mars!”

Thanks. It was a team effort, and I'm one to give credit where credit is due, you know? Naiek is a friends character. We sat around on Skype for a good 4 or so hours working on a plot. He spent probably 1 1/2 on his full lore, and I spent 4 1/2 hours on mine. So all together about 10 hours were put into this lore. I hope that it's good enough to be recognized.

Awesome story! Apart from a few mistakes that you might want to change (like different tenses in the same paragraph) it was a good story and enjoyable to read!

I know. I figured since I... Or should I say "We", put so much time and effort into this lore, I would make a "Journal" for Mars.

It starts when he on his 10th birthday. He writes one submission a month for 16 1/2 years. That's approx. 198 submissions. Over 200 pages. It will literally be a novel about a role-play character.

We found out that Ysgramor drove the Falmer underground thousands of years before the Alliance War. Because of this, we have to create a new lore. Sucks, right? Well, when you're as hardcore of a gamer as Naiek and I are, you will go to great lengths to make sure everything is perfect!
