Two Questions

Question one: What are the rarities of gear in this game (ie: gray, white, green, blue, purple, orange/red.. etc)?

Question Two: Will there be numbers to represent the damage you do? If not, are they planning on implementing it?

Also I want to add, I looked through the interactive map and I was astounded by the scale the zones! They look freakin huge; im so hyped!

Answer One: I don't believe they publicly announced how they'll be doing rarities with gear. Though I would expect common bland statless weapons, uncommon weapons with stats, and rare more powerful weapons. Keep in mind though that the concept of rarity is relative, so the power of a "rare" piece of equipment in one game can be much different than that of another.

Answer Two: So far I believe they've stuck to not having damage numbers pop up on screen as part of their philosophy of a minimalistic UI. It's been speculated that this can be changed with user created UI mods.

Character Profiles:
Endaros Ilmori - Buoyant Armiger
Sunrio - Aldmeri Justiciar

Taren Jucanis - Imperial Deserter (Used for The Black Shroud RP)

Argonian
Answer One: I don't think they have said anything about that. But I would think that the rarities would be something like Leather, iron steel, orcish glass and daedric armor.

Answer Two: No but you should be able to do that with mods or in your settings.

if you check the ZOS videos, the one with looting chest to be specific, you will see white and green stuff. I suppose we can safely assume the model will not differ from mmo standards

They have to keep SOME aspects relatable to the MMO crowd

Which is more difficult: To do as you wish? Or to have power and choose not to?

The damage numbers I feel are slightly irrelevant unless you NEED it for some odd reason as DPS will vary so wildly within a fight. Consider the combat system: action oriented so you aren't constantly churning out auto DPS. It requires manual weapon swings. So unless you need to see how hard you hit per swing and per spell cast, you don't need it. I spose if you wanted to compare weapons and see which you fare better with it makes sense though.

About the weapon damage, I would think that you would be able to see the weapon damage in your slots for your character. Something maybe like Skyrim or Oblivion; where you can see the value weight and damage with out putting your mouse over it.

There's also blue. I think those are more for different types of items rather than gear.

It's possible. But really that is just menu organization more than anything. And I think even in skryim that was a modded thing. Anyways I'm just saying that floating damage numbers seem irrelevant to me. You will be able to clearly see stats on the item itself. That much should be obvious. The way combat looks like it will work in this game seems to make DPS counters and the like almost useless. You won't get the same consistent DPS all throughout a fight, every fight. Maybe because of your build you can tank one fight, then pull back and do more of a support role the next. It really is gonna change based on your build, and how you react to situations
