So, not that we shall speak of this in the ESO forums regularly, but the Dunmer don't like me in Dragonborn (the third add-on for Skyrim) I am an Argonian but the Dunmer don't really like Argonians for obvious reasons (territory wars). The native Dunmer keep complaining of 'newcomers' to the island and say that calling a Dunmer a 'dark elf' shows ignorance and this has forever altered my naming of the Dark Elves to Dunmer. I had no idea it was such a big thing.

Are three other ignorant terms that I should avoid in order to be an insightful Argonian? I would rather not appear ignorant though perhaps my creation of this post says otherwise...

Though I acknowledge that the Argonians may not care or have a different opinion of what the Dunmer think at different points in the timeline.

Well, we know that Dunmer are xenophobic. That's a given. Their homes practically blew up, forcing many into exile. Combine that with the Argonian reconquest of lands conquered by the Dunmer ages ago and you have a really pissed off group of people.

not to mention the argonians still hold mournhold (that makes the name even more sweet) and argonian tribes still live in morrowind and tend to raid the settled dunmer.

Names not may addressed to Dunmer:

Ashen Skins
Ashkind
Ashborn
Ash
Grey Skins
Blood Eyes
Black Eyes
Burned ones
and many more

just to mention some names I could think off insulting a Dunmer, but I never would use them outside a tavern row...

We do, we do

Most elven races don't really enjoy the names the races of man have given them.

High elves: Altmer
Dark elves: Dunmer
Wood elves: Bomser
Orcs: Orsimer (although they don't seem to mind orc)

Strange. They aren't like that to me, and I've beaten the main questline twice.

By shock. By frost. By flame.

Yes, I figured it wasn't meant to be that way. I can only conclude it's because I'm an Argonian.

No fair talking about dragonborn cause I can't play it yet! hehe (yes, I play Skyrim on PC)

I seriously can't wait till I get it next month. I'm working on getting my character to level 50 for now. I started a new character last month because I didn't like how I leveled my old character. This one is much better and fits my playstyle better. Plus I'm a veritable tank haha.

The general hatred between the Saxlheel and the Dunmer has gone back as far as I can remember. If it wasn't us invading their lands and taking it over, it was them enslaveing us. So yeah, I don't particularly care for the Dunmer myself. (speaking entirely in character here, I don't actually have issue with them)

I'm sorry for the reference as I was not trying to talk about anything but the MMO on this forum. XD

I also know I'd never be a Dunmer, though since they are also in Ebonheart Pact and two of my friends (at least) will be playing that race, I can't say bad things about them (too much). Though they did steal Argonian land & them as slaves. *grumble* :P

I'm glad Dragonborn will move to PC so others can play it!

I am no good with analog sticks and so I MIGHT pursue some magic other than restoration in Elder Scrolls Online. Depending of the controls of course as I have to feel comfortable playing.

On another note: I am reading http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/First_Era and it seems there is no information regarding the sixth century in the first era. Am I to assume that the Empire kept expanding and under the Empire's control and all remained peaceful? >_>

Off topic question here: sorry if I shouldn't post this here.

What exactly is your name supposed to be?
Your avatar says Nist-Oisi.
Your sig says Nist-Osis.
I saw in one of your posts you called yourself Nist-Osi.

I'm a confused Argonian ^_^.

The "pointy ears" call us Argonians because they call our homeland Argonia. We are Saxhleel, "the people of the root" in the common tongue, and the dark elves call themselves Dumner.

The Argonians are an amphibious race of reptillian humanoids inhabiting the province of Black Marsh. In their native tongue, Jel, they call themselves the Saxhleel, which means people of the root.

Cultural and linguistic communication has variety in its pomposity. How many wars have started due to bad pronunciation?

The Great Moot would prefer attention to translations owing to The Ebonheart Pact's delicate balance. However I should not be beaten to death down a darkened ally way because I lisp "Sithissss"!

p.s. The His(ssssss)t likes warm blood. All warm bloods welcome to Black Marsh }:)

I love that picture of the Hist. He's so handsome. Or she? I guess it doesn't really matter as I can't image such a powerful tree needing to breed at all to spread roots, and some amphibians can change gender anyway since Argonians hold some amphibious qualities. Never mind, just random thought process..

That picture is of the rarer serpent Saxhleel that protect "the root". They cannot leave the swamps...as some of us Saxhleel can.
