Province: North-Eastern Morrowind and Solstheim

City/ies: Port Telvannis, Sadrith Mora

Character: Varen Telvayn of House Telvanni (Age: 341)

Backstory: After the Red year and the Argonian invasion the Houses of Morrowind lost almost all their power and influence. When House Hlaalu had been stripped of its power and holdings the Dunmer people rejoiced as the last of the Empire's strength over the Dunmeri people but when Disaster struck and Morrowind was overwhelmed first by natural disaster and then by Invasion all the houses where crushed... Dres was annihilated by the Argonians in Tear for the crimes of centuries of enslavement, Sadras fell apart as soon as Narsis fell to the Argonians, Indoril was destroyed tragically in the sack of Almalexia. House Redoran emerged victorious and led the people of Morrowind from the city of Blacklight but when the Ash-lander tribes rebelled against them their whole leadership was executed by rebels. the fleeing people of Blacklight left for Raven Rock on Solstheim seeking Redoran protection. House Telvanni was hit hard but more by the eruption of Red mountain then by the Invasion being so isolated. The Great house Telvanni begun to plan a re-colonization of their old lands starting by rebuilding the ash-covered Island city of Sadrith Mora. not long after the people of Necrom, devastated by the fall of their leading house, Indoril. The people of Necrom turned to the House Telvanni for protection and Telvanni accepted. In turn Necrom became a strong vassal to the House. On Solstheim the influence of Redoran fell greatly when the news of the fall of Blacklight reached Raven Rock and with that the whole of the Raven Rock government lost all credibility. The Dunmer of the settlement turned to Tel Mithryn for aid and guidance which was provided by the forgotten Telvanni Master Wizard, Neloth, he governed Raven rock and Tel Mithryn until the day Councillor Meryn Releth arrived from Port Telvannis to assume leadership over all of Southern Solstheim in the name of the House Telvanni. The power of the Dunmer of Raven Rock grew to take most of North-Western Solstheim and claimed the valuable Stalhrim deposits located there and created a large mining based settlement there in the location of an old Altmeri/ Dominion outpost. This was to grow over time like Raven Rock had on its ebony mines. This power spread to the rest of Solstheim finally causing the enslavement of the small population of the Nordic Skaal tribe an making them work in the mines and shape the Stalhrim itself for the Dunmer, teaching them how it is done.

Yusuf proudly wields the family's double-bladed battle axe and two-handed scimitar and has cut down many foes with those weapons. He rose to power by having his elder brother murdered but took great care to make it look like a hunting accident and claimed leadership of his decent sized army then used promises of wealth and glory as his rallying cry to gather the armies of High Rock into a large, powerful, warrior wave ready to pour into the rest of Tamriel like the first Ra'Gada did in Hammerfell.

that the An-Xileel needs to hold absolute power.

Backstory: Kahlee-Jah was born to a rich An-Xileel general's family in Helstrom. He was raised and educated well and taught to fight from a young age. Eventually he joined the army and worked his way up to a relatively high up position where he entered politics. Due to being very charismatic, passionate and very good at persuading others his support grew. Ever since the troubles in tamriel started with no major power he petitioned to the leaders to take the chance and take over however they completely rejected this idea. Through a series of 'unfortunate events' his opposition died out and he became leader of Argonia. His first order was to get the troops ready as he wanted to take out any competition for argonia and ensure the safety of all argonians, in and out of their homeland.

In the palace of Stros M'Kai Yusuf sat upon the throne listening to his advisers but he'd had enough of this squabbling "Enough of this!" he barked silencing them "Hammerfell is weakened as are its people but we have endured and endure we shall until this is through. The Imperial city is run by a fool of a monarch and ripe for the taking! the empire is but a crippled husk of its former self! we need to take advantage of this and storm Cyrodiil now!" he shouted getting varied responses, some of his advisers supported this while others suggested "biding time".

"But we need to prepare first!" an adviser objected, Azal, his chief rival for his rule "If we are to take the city what of the southern armies? will they stand idly by letting this prize be taken by us? once we take the city we will need to be prepared to defend it. I suggest we wait for five more years-" Azal said before being cut by some shouting from Yusuf's supporters but Yusuf again quieted them down with more shouting "We do not have five years to spend! in that time one of said armies could have taken the city already!"

"What about this then" Azal said "We will need a strong foothold in Cyrodiil by the time we attempt to take the city, why not focus on capturing the land of Cyrodiil itself first?" Azal proposed with a sly grin as Yusuf realized that this had trapped him, this was a fair compromise and if he refused then Azal would be in a position to start a rebellion against him and he couldn't have that. Yusuf made a low rumbling sound in his throat "Very well then, Colovia will be our first target. You're dismissed" he said sending his advisers off.

Yusuf went to his quarters and began writing an ultimatum, he wouldn't attack the empire outright yet but he needed to give them a cause to feel threatened so this ultimatum would be sent to the Altmer known as Eltharon to surrender the counties of Kvatch, Anvil and the island of Stirk to him or there would be war. He had no doubt that his people would support the conquest of lands ruled by an Altmer so this was a prime target for him.

Nostalo was holding court, and as always getting bored. As usual he heard, only snippets of conversations from his advisors, "attack," "poor," "rich," "bide our time," and the like. Each member of the Elder Council wanted a say and needed to be heard. "Enough!" Casbrio, Nostalo's cousin and Count of Skingrad, "the Empire is falling apart and all of you are acting like drunks, yelling over each other and not listening to anyone else! We need to decide on who to attack first, or if we shall defend!"

In the county palace of Anvil Eltharon was stood next to large oaken table listening to his advisers but he'd had enough of their 'ideas' "Silence!'' he shouted ''These lands are under threat from a egomaniacal emperor whose throne is like a soft fruit, ripe for the taking. The Empire his forefathers had built lies a dormant husk of its former prowess, We must strike them mow at their grand time of weakness!'' his speech drew varied responses from his tacticians and advisers but they seemed to take the speech on board.

"But we need to prepare first! Send them a letter of war! A ultimatum if you will!" an aged tactician objected, who so happened to be one of the counts former guard captains ''and if we strike we need to take the land around the palace first all of the others counties no matter their power, and then there is the forces of the North to contend with'' he was stopped by Eltharon, who had raised a hand ''Gunjar calm yourself, we may not even need to fight with them. As the rulers of Alinor once said 'if a foe by force or mind is unbeatable, then make them an ally' while this will not likely work in the most case it is a chance, a chance that a foe should take to reconsider his standing.''

Moments after the last word was uttered from his golden lips did a courier, a Breton, arrive walking briskly through the palace he stopped before Eltharon ''you have a letter from the palace on Stros M'Kai'' Eltharon accepted the letter opening it, and reading. It was an ultimatum from the abominations of Lorkhan the Redguards and their leader. It demanded the land of which he owned Anvil, Kvatch and northern Valenwood ''Degenerate'' Eltharon snapped burning the letter.

''We have a dilemma I will let you squabble over, the ruler of Hammerfell namely the isle of Stros M'Kai seeks our land. See to it we our sufficiently guarded from such attacks.'' He walked towards his quarters and from his desk a quill pen with it an inkwell. If the Redguards seeked his land they would be stopped.

He unravelled a piece of parchment and wrote a response saying ''You shall not while a single being draw breath take these lands. I will however in lightenment of your doings seek a truce between our varied lands. In that you refrain from attacking my lands and in turn I and my armies shall not attacks your land. I understand that you like many seek the ruby throne from the degenerate king, in this many will try and most will fail our truce has one condition: if we are to coexisted our lands are to stay in peace.''

Argonian
In the depths on Argonia, the impenetrable swamp, something dangerous was brewing. In the heart of the swamp lies Helstrom, the capital of Argonia and the shining jewel of independence for all of the Hist bound. Within this massive city that would appear alien to all outsiders lies the war room of the mighty An-Xileel, crushers of Morrowind and Annihilators of Dagon. Inside the war room are countless maps of foreign lands and vicious generals eager to prove themselves to the country, their leader and the all powerful hist. On this particular day the room was filled to the brim, scaly advisors, generals and tacticians were all frantically rushing around as papers were launched into the air and the booming sound of hundreds of voices filled the grand room.

"Where's the map?!" "If we launch the troops now we'll take the entire city!" "Supply them here, here and here!" "We're running out of time!"

These sentences were but a fraction of the sounds in the relentless noise. However it all fell silent when the main door was open and an announcer said

"All hail Kahlee-Jah, Champion of Argonia!"

A tallish figure stepped in, with emerald green and blood red scales clad in ornate argonian scale mail armour. He was escorted by two tall argonians encased in expertly crafted argonian plate armour, bearing brutal spears and savage forward curving blades. Kahlee-Jah walked slowly to the middle of the room and said in a booming voice

"The hist have spoken! Without swift intervention from our mighty nation, the war mongering destructive forces of the dryskins shall bring their devastation upon us. Intentionally or not. We must take a stand, before their petty war of greed takes hold of tamriel. I, Kahlee-Jah your leader hereby decree that we shall march upon Mournhold as a first step to the prevention of hostilities against Argonia. The Hist are on our side and so is the almighty dread father, bringer of change. Muster the troops!"

As soon as the speech was done the generals and tacticians began organising the orders for their troops to be ready for attack. War had begun.

Nostalo stood up, "I am of the mind that we attack, but who? Yusuf the Dragon-Hearted, Ruler of Hammerfell? Varen Telvayn, Master Wizard of House Telvanni, he whose in charge if most of Morrowind? The Altmer, Eltharon, the mage skilled in Destruction? The Argonians and Kahlee-Jah? Or the Rock of Southpoint, Tadriel? I shall send a letter to the King in the North, and ask his thoughts, I want an answer from the Elder Council by tomorrow." Nostalo stood up and taking the Empresses hand, walked out of the Council Chambers and into is private ones.

In the large halls of Whiterun Uthyn sat at the throne. He had journeyed to Skyrim when given most of it to reinforce his rule there and had made Whiterun his temporary home. His position was a good one. He sat in the North with his massive Power and were to direct target, for now he would be spared assaults. His lion banners flew from the walls along with the banners of Whiterun, and on his hed rested a silver Crown with sapphires. Both Skyrim and High Rock had been preparing for war and building up their lands, High Rock since after the Great War many years ago and Skyrim since the Civil war.

His advisors urged him to bring his armies down South to crush the lands there and save the Empire, others urged him to sit back and Watch. He listened... Until he thought it was time to reveal his plan. "Silence." He commanded, then smiling he said "I have my Eyes set on Another prize, Blacklight is still very weakened, they are rebuilding still. The Dunmer have long lives and the Argonian invasion and the Red Year caused them much damage. Yet Blacklight is wealthy and a great city, it will also gain us Control of The northwestern part of Morrowind. I want one of my three great hosts to prepare for war in Eastmarsh, the two others is to remain in High Rock and the other in Skyrim to defend. Call the banners! We are marching to war!" Under thundering cheers Uthyn smiled.

Nostalo waited for Casbrio and Volta Truis, sister of the Empress to join him in his quarters. Nostalo already had a letter for Uthyn, he would send it to Galmar who would send it to Uthyn. All he needed was his three principal advisors, Casbrio, Volta, and Empress Caetia to read over the letter. The letter asked for an opinion on who to attack first and asked if High Rock or Skyrim needed reinforcements.

Yusuf wrote a note down quickly and had it sent to general Khabal issuing an order for him to move his troops, fifteen thousand in all, to Rihad to reinforce the position there and amass a larger army for the attacks on Colovia.

After that he sent a second note ordering admiral Ahtar to send his fleet to attack and seize the island of Stirk, Stirk would fall with ease so the fleet was rather overkill but that's exactly what Yusuf wanted, a show of force to make his future enemies back down and the populace more "accepting" of their new ruler.

Once the grand announcement of invasion was over Kahlee-Jah called for even more silence and as he did so the room fell silent.

"I hereby declare that the Headquarters of war is going to be moved to Stormhold to better react to foreign events. If you object you shall be executed for high treason. Understood?"

The room's inhabitants nodded in unison and Kahlee-Jah exited the building. As soon as he left the finishing touches were added to certain letters and arrangements and everyone began packing up everything needed. Long winding columns of soldiers waited outside of the building. Some of the troops started to march north, some travelled to other corners of Argonia to deliver news, recruit, and replenish garrisons while the rest began transporting the essentials of the war room's relocation. Kahlee-Jah was escorted by an elite band of warriors through the dense swamp of Argonia. It would prove to be a long journey...

Nostalo smiled after Casbrio, Casetia and Volta agreed to the letter. He immediately ordered that 50 fast and smart cavalry troops be dispatched under the command of General Hoslir, a smart, tough Nord who knew how to ride. "How are we on food and supplies?" Nostalo asked Casbrio. "8 months worth of both, my lord," Casbrio answered, "and the 5th legion has moved into position near Cheydinal along with the Navy finishing moving most of its ships to Leyawiin." "That's great news," said Volta, "but what about the borders?" "We can move the 3rd legion here, near Argonia and Morrowind and the 4th here near Chorrol," answered Nostalo pointing at a huge map of Tamriel. "I'll send the orders now," said Casbrio with a bow then turned to leave. "Casbrio, wait!" said Casetia. "Yes my lady?" "We need troops near Elsweyr, perhaps moving the 8th legion to Skingrad?" "Yes, that would be the best option, they can be stationed near where the Priory of the Nine is," replied Casetia "No," said Nostalo, "that is a holy place and the legion is not the most holy, they can be stationed here," Nostalo pointed to Fort Black Boot, "it has been rebuilt and is now a good spot for the legion to be placed." "The orders will be sent out at once my lord, with 25 troops to escort the orders," Casbrio said with a bow then left. "I shall go too my lord and lady, give you two some time," Casetia curtsied then left.

Varen walked out of his house, well if you could call it that, his residence was effectively a palace overlooking the mushroom topped houses of Port Telvannis. He strode down the road and across the marketplace to reach the large town square. Dunmer of all ages bowed respectfully as he passed and he talked to them making momentary small talk before continuing on towards the bulk of the Fungal construct, The Parliament of Bugs...
The two spear-armed guards on both sides of the door saluted and touched the rim of their ebony helmets. He entered the building and traversed the twisted corridors of the complex until he reached an antechamber where his servant put the ceremonial Telvanni Master robes over his shoulders which Varen hastily put on. He stood before the large double door and waited patiently.

The stewards opened the doors on both sides and a herald called out:
"Lord Varen Telvayn of House Telvanni, Governor of Port Telvannis and Archmagister of House Telvanni!"
Varen boldly entered the main hall, the great central cavity within the fungus housing the Parliament. The polite clapping stopped quickly as
Varen approached the podium in the center of the hall. He stretched his hands up to calm the constant chatter of the Master wizards.

"Silence."
The quiet words sounded as they echoed from wall to wall.
"We are assembled here as the governing body of The Dunmeri People and the great land of Morrowind!"
A few cheers of approval sounded among the assembled.
"Have we not worked hard to bring our people together, Crisis after crisis?"
Some more cheers.
"Now we represent them here. In our City!"
Even more cheering, most of them were old enough to remember how weak House Telvanni was some 70 years ago.
There were powerful, old and influential Dunmer in this crowd.
"We have potential enemies on all sides! The Ashlanders still hold the south-west Morrowind! Argonians in the South! Imperials, Nords and Bretons to the West! And where are our Allies!"
A few cheers of approval but more thoughtful silence filled the hall this time.
As they faded Varen spoke up again.
"We are vulnerable to the whims of foreigners if they should come into our lands! And did we not swear after Tiber Septim, Never Again!"
The Cheers sounded louder than before.
Varen smiled.

Yusuf watched from his great balcony the fleet of ships depart from the massive harbour and dry dock on their way to Rihad to deliver the troops then the fleet would continue on the warpath to the island of Stirk to capture it. Stirk would fall easily and was no great prize to be certain but it would only serve to impede his progress otherwise and he was intent to conquer anything that stood in his path.

Uthyn sat on his White stallion on a hill in Eastmarsh as thousands of Soldiers passed him, marching towards the border to Morrowind. The ride from Whiterun to Eastmarsh had not been long, and infact the fifteen thousand Soldiers there had already prepared for war on his orders Before they knew what they would attack. With the Alliance between Skyrim and High Rock, Uthyn's armies numbered in around fifty thousand men. Most of them from High Rock but near twenty thousand from Skyrim.

Rank after rank of Soldiers in blue cloaks passed. His general Alain asked him "How long do you Believe Blacklight will stand your grace?" Uthyn smiled "If we take them by suprise Before they can start raising their armies... A week at highest. But if they discover what we are up to then maybe more than Three weeks."

Uthyn started riding down and took a Place with his beridden bodyguard and his generals between two ranks of Soldiers. The war had begun.

Eltharon looked around the palace of Anvil, mainly its court where his advisors and tacticians sat. ''Silence!'' he shouted and the arguing drew to a close ''we are to move south, and let the barbarians claim this fair land. For they come with an army that dwarfs even our own.'' This drew a varied mixture of response from his advisors ''but me must stand and hold this land!'' he protested rather feebly. ''No there will be consequences if we do not, and as the Mer have done for years we shall wait out a weakness and strike like that of coiled snake.''

''I will personally captain the ship to take the message to the barbaric Redguards'' he smiled upon the last word of his speech and left once more to his quarters where he began to write ''we have seen you ultimatum, and I have reconsidered my standing on the matter. You may have these wretched lands, my interest lies in the heartland of the Meri.''

He finished the letter and folded it placing it in his pocket ''there will be consequences'' he whispered.
