Faction & Race:
Aldmeri Dominion (Khajiit)
Well, to know what faction you'd wanna be in you should ask yourself
What is your favorite class?
Where do you want to travel in Tamriel
Like for me I want to visit Valenwood and elsweyr and I LOVE being a Khajiit, so I'm Picking the Aldmeri Dominion
If you do however pick the aldmeri dominion you should join my guild. It is called the Black Hand.

Faction & Race:
Not Set
I had this question myself for a bit, flip flopped a lot and just started to talk and get to know people on the forums. I found that I talked a lot to a certain faction more than the others and just felt like I fit in. So for now I have decided based on that. DC is where the majority of my forum friends are and I was considering 2 of the races there anyway. However selecting a race in the faction.. I just can't do it!! lol

So spend some time here, relax, research and get to know people! It may help you better decide.

I dont think so. Most of us dont like having Alts an just want to invest all are time into one Toon or Character. I know I do.

I picked my race from Lore and just what I think I would play best.. Orcs are intimidating, Power houses and Thats what I love playing an so its Obv That thats what Im gonna be! lol

Think You should just Read some Lore, Even if its alittle bit of each race an chose from there... OR When the game comes outtry out what Race u like best:)

A couple things to help you decide:

Do you know which faction your friends are going to pick?
Have you taken a look at the guilds that are being created? Is there one that sounds good to you?

And of course, as mentions above, there is the lore. Which race's background do you like the best? If you plan on roleplaying, which race gives you some good elements for roleplay? We don't have enough information on what the racial bonuses will be. But you can also take that into consideration.

I started out thinking I was going to play in one faction but ended up changing to another.

Faction & Race:
Ebonheart Pact (Dunmer)
And you shouldnt forget another question to ask yourself: Do I really want to be in Ebonheart pact as everyone and his little sister do? Haha

Ebonheart Pact (Nord)
I'm gonna stick with my character, but I can't decide who has the best lore,it's tough,'cause all the races are special in their own way. And I agree with @Tabbycat Go with the faction your friends are gonna be. That's the best solution. If you don't like it,you can always create an Alt.

Faction & Race:
Ebonheart Pact (Argonian)
For me, I'm choosing Argonian because that is what I've played in all of the elder scrolls games I've played (save arena, they were god awful looking in that game and not reptilian at all) and I am facinated with Black Marsh and Morrowind. I've always wanted to travel outside the walls of Mournhold and I've always wanted to visit my native lands. So ebonheart pact for me all the way. If I make a serious alt though it'd be a kajiit.

I totally blame Merry Eyesore the Elk for my decision to change to Dunmer.

The ending of the word is Almsivi.

No, you should forget that question. Forget it like I forgot my psychotic ex girlfriend.

Besides, I'm telling you, a lot of those people are going to be PvE heroes, my gut is screaming that to me.

The Pact is always looking for a few good men! (and women)

~

In all seriousness though, I would read up on the lore for each faction and race to make your choice. Combine that with where your friends are going to be, if appropriate.

Look at all those things............then pick the pact :-)

Aldmeri Dominion (Khajiit)

Not so at all for me, perhaps I am the exception to the herd. I play multi-characters in all online/single player games that offer them.

I've been planning a Main/Khajiit and 2 Alts/Orc&Nord since I heard of the 3 factions. I want to see all the real estate - wanna feel High Rock & Daggerfall under my heels again; see the splendors of the rainbow spire towers of Sunhold; gotta trod through the mud of Black Marsh and meet these g*d-danged Hist. I'd like to meet the Imga too who emulate the Altmer as only ape people could do.

I might even probably play more characters than that. I believe that this is one reason why TESO is set up like an opposing triad vying for control of the middle - so we all get to experience ALL the vibes and controls at large in 2nd Era Tamriel.

I agree that to pick your Main you should first look to yourself - which character/race speaks the loudest to your soul. Who'd you like to be if you really lived in Nirn? Secondly, look to where your friends will be playing. This our first opportuntiy since 1994 to play with our online forum friends we've known for years and discussed TES games with and exchanged mods with.

Whether you want only 1 character or more ... do learn the lore but mostly just go with your own heart.

TESO - - Multiplayer: "M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you." M'aiq the Liar.

"Va Khaj Dar - Khajiity's united? M'aiq will join!" M'aiq the Liar
