EDIT: This topic has been moved to our Role-playing forum. Feel free to create a new topic for your own character if you wish, or continue to use this topic.

I know a lot of people like to have some sort of background story for their Elder Scrolls persona, so what's yours.

I haven't quite made one yet for TESO, but I'm thinking on it. I have a couple for other TES games, but I'm going to be starting fresh with this game.

Well, I think my TESO character will be the predecesor of my Morrowind-Oblivion-Skyrim character.
Perhaps we hill be his grand or grand grand father (I could even edit my Morrowind game to add his name to the Aryon family tomb hehe).
His story is not yet clear in my mind, but he will be a member of House Redoran.
In the late 3rd Era, the Aryons where in a great variety of places as you can see

Ebonheart Pact (Argonian)

Hmm mostly have not thought about it. i was never an RPy person.
I always figured my Skyrim Character was an Argonian war criminal hiding in Skyrim from the Imperials, however getting captured eventually. Kinda like the SS officers in South America, speaking of national stereotypes.

Since we dont realy know what classes are going to be in the Game its a bit of a tough one but ill certainly play a Warrior (whatever it will be called, probably "warrior")
Guess ill take on the Role of a former Argonian Tribal warrior from the more primitive tribes in northern Blackmarsh.

Once he gets his soul stolen from Molag Bal, and the Pact calls to arms he will heed the call, if only to take revenge on a god. He will dispise his fellow Warriors at first, also he will have trouble adapting to the City culture of these people, having lived in the wild lands of Argonia with nothing but your axe (i figured Argonians would use flint axes and spears as weapons in their homeland) and the Hist to guide you, the Laws and regulations of a City can be confusing.
However he will eventually learn that he can put his savage talents to good use, maybe not to aid the hist, but probably for some coin (wichs meaning he still not has fully understood, but these crazy city people are obsessed with shiny) He will most likeley end up as a mercenary, traveling the ash ridden wastelands of Morrowind and the primal Wilderness of Skyrim, eventually learning to respect the Nords sense of Honor, and their ferocity in battle. He in terms found out that he could impress the nords not only by his savage look, and rumors about the virile prowess of Argonians (after reading "the sultry argonian Bard" i thought this is a general romor about them) but also with his Argonian poison resistance wich led to him beeing able to drink huge ammounts of mead. Wich made him a well liked guest in any Nordic Meadhouse

His adventures as a sellsword will lead him to be more respectfull to the people he protects under the banner of the Dragon. And will eventually lead the Charge on the Battlefield with his new found allies.

Speaking of, i always felt Argonians were underrepresented as Warriors, and i hope they get some cultural Armor that makes sense.
I always kinda associated the Argonians with the picts and some Jungle tribe. I figured they would go to battle with very little armor, but with alot of warpaint on their dull scales to mark them as warriors of the tribe.

I figured they would use large tribal paintings that symbolize the roots of the hist that connect all of them. And adorn themselves with Skulls of the jungle beasts. Also i figured Argonian Warriors would always carry a bit of hist sap that sends them into a Berserker rage when they have to fight.
Something id realy like to have as Armor for the Argonians would be the Armor the Aztec Leader in this Comic wears

Lore permitting (I am by no means an expert), my wood elf will be a Crusader character (or as close as I can get to that) who moved to Anvil or Kvatch earlier in her life, assimilated and integrated, until the war forced her back to Valenwood. Her time in Cyrodiil will have given her a rather cynical attitude towards the Aldmeri Dominion, and she'll likely question the true role that the bosmer (and to a lesser extent, the khajiit) play in the faction - whether they are equals or simply pawns for "our great aldmeri overlords". Needless to say, she'll probably be a knight in sour armour who is civil enough with races outside of the Dominion with no true desire to fight.

I've not thought up all the details of my argonian, but he'll probably delight in seeing the foreigners struggling to cope with Black Marsh's environment.

Hah, well-spotted!

As for Black Marsh, I hope some of the more foreign areas are explorable, just to give my argonian some of that sweet, sweet schadenfreude.

As a native German speaking person i dont quite get the meaning of the word schadenfreude in that sentance.

But apart from the fact that i am obviously not in the position to write on the internet right now (wich i ignore) i have to agree with you.
So far the Black Marsh screenshots hardly impress me, i just have the terrible feeling that well be fighting crocodiles. Dont ask me why but since Everquest 2 whenever im fighting crocodiles in an MMORPG im just feeling like its doing something wrong.

Im having hopes for the ruins, id realy like to hear more about the Kothringi (and their metal skin) and i realy hope that those Aztec ruins realy are from the Kothringi, as i always thought that havin the Argonians be Aztecs would be way to cliche (as the Warhammer Lizardmen, the DnD Sarukh and quite a few simmilar creatures) already have an Aztec theme to them.

Haha, it's probably not used in the correct context really, but my German has never been as good as my French. What I mean to say is that I hope there are some areas that are - in lore - less hospitable to non-argonians so that they can struggle with it and my argonian can look upon them and laugh, all the while saying how stupid foreigners are. :P

probably depending on how they implement Black Marsh, lets hope it realy gets this devilish hellhole.

One more thing i realy hope is that they final show the potential of the Races. I want to see Argonian Warriors, in their native gear, something we have not seen in a single TES game yet.
I just hate how they get pushed into the thief role, because i hate the thief role.

I haven't made up my mind yet. I was planning to play through all the old games again, to suck in the lore and decide afterwards. But I contemplate rolling an Argonian, because I expect to be them of the lesser played races and they sure make for a interesting game experience.

So back into Arena, and hiss life into my reptilian alter ego. Let's see how Tamriel looks like from a lizards-eye view.

Argonian one of the lesser played races? You are misinformed my friend. The Argonians usually dominate all the TES Races polls.
However i have to agree that non TES players probably wouldnt even think of playing them.

Every time I have played a TES game after learning a little about the world and lore I came up with a secret group of Dunmer who get elevated to greatness by Azura.
They have all come different backgrounds but share that one night they have a dream where they're directed towards greater things. They unknowingly (but do learn eventually) they have become part of a group I simply called "The Nightblades of Azura" (guess what class I play?) which is a secret group who have been around forever and every so often Azura feels a hero is needed and contacts a Dunmer down of their luck.

Oblivion this was Lauravenya Viake, a female Dunmer Nightblade
Skyrim this was Elethus Verilnith, a male Dunmer (nightblade)

I was thinking as TES is the prequel to all the series it might be fun to form a guild on an RP server and have that guild be the founding members of this small group who will go on to greater things throughout the ages.

I have the feeling it doesn't perfectly fit in the cannon lore of the TES series but seeing as other than ESO the games are all singleplayer I don't feel I am harming any one else with my crazy story.

Not to be an asshole here but i generaly dislike people roleplaying Characters that are meant to be something higher or some other weird non lore conform stuff. Of course i cant change your point of view and you wont annoy people with it so i couldnt be bothered less.

Still i must say that in my opinion its more fun to play a regular dude (from whatever profession makes sense for the Race and Setting) and let him climb to greatness himself.

Well my example of them being elevated to greatness is mostly because in the TES games you're always playing that hero of the time.
In actual ESO RP I don't plan to be special other than the fact that I have maybe been told by Azura that I have a greater purpose along with the others in my guild. We will just be roleplaying a close group who know they're going to do something great but they're not sure what so they adventure and fight in the war in hopes they will achieve it.

I learnt from RPing in SWTOR that trying to have your characters game story as your RP story is stupid in that so many people try it and you have a whole bunch of "single hero of the world" running around.

I'm still not 100% sure on the guild and RP as I'm still quite unknowledged in TES lore. The last thing I want to do is role on an RP server and end up being shunned by the entire community because I didn't know enough about the games lore.

Hm, seems so. Even though I have played through Arena, Daggerfall and Morrowind + it's expansions, dabbled with Oblivion and just started Skyrim, I must admit that I haven't been so much of a fan that I got involved in anything outside of the games. And I'm more the MMO enthusiast, so much is sure.

So what's the least favorite? What about Khajit?
