Why so many Nords (& EP)

I was curios, what theories do people have about why there are so many Nord players, and in turn, so many EP players. One theory I've heard is that most members started TES with Skyrim, so Nord is what most people chose as there first race. but, i hope, there is allot of maturer gamers on TESOF so surely they'd have played Morrowind and or Oblivion.

That theory seems to be the more correct one, as well as Morrowind fans who want to see Morrowind 2 in ESO. There's also the common trend of large numbers of people who choose the dominant race of each of the factions, i.e. Bretons, Nords and Altmer. I fall into the group of people who choose dominant races, plus I'll be spending a considerable amount of time in Cyrodiil on release.

Been a nord since Morrowind, it's only now that I'm debating between a wood elf or a nord actually due to the number of people in EP.

Don't let the large number stop you from playing what you want to play, if you want to be a Nord, be a Nord.

The large number of Nords/EP vrs. any other race/faction doesn't matter in PVP gameplay and therefore matters not at all. The PVP campaigns in Cyrodil will be balanced to contain no more than 2000 players. You also take a questionnaire at beginning of game choosing what type of other players you'd like to be grouped with, both in PVE and PVP. It could be a bonus to choose a more popular race because you'd have more players of your race to join with but they said that the questionnaire will depend more on play style preferences.

I attribute the large number of EP players to people having previously played Morrowind and Skyrim and more Bretons due to playing Daggerfall. There is probably relatively smaller number of players choosing races who've seemed more peripheral - like Orc, Redguard (although there was the game Redguard, not part of TES continuum), Altrmer, Bosmer, Khajiit and Argonian. But there are Khajiit specialists and Argonian aficionado's.

TESO - - Multiplayer: "M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you." M'aiq the Liar.

"Va Khaj Dar - Khajiity's united? M'aiq will join!" M'aiq the Liar

Argonian aficionado tuning in!

Its very true the races are popular due to the dominant races of previous games.
But Nords get a real boost to it because a lot of people want to be a 'standard human'
In which Imperials are off the chart, and Bretons are weak and insignificant, and should be disposed of violently.
So that leaves Nords, big, tough and manly.. Their attitude is very appealing to people because of their strong nature.

To be honest we stick to what we know, and what we are comfortable with. Even I fall into that, as my 2nd preference of race is the Dunmer, I am a big big Morrowind fanboy.

I agree with Avidus, I prefer playing as my own species for some reason. I always was an Imperial when playing TES but since the game is centered around seizing Cyrodiil therefore we cannot play as them, I'm going for the next 'superior' Human race, ;) Nord. I like your say on the Bretons Avidus. haha :)

I'm always an elf, but I of course play other races as secondaries.
