I was reading through the race discription for high elves and it stated them as being good mages and warriors, with that said would high elves make good battlemages? And how so compared to lets say bretons?

Altmer have a natural affinity for magic, as do Bretons. That being said, Altmer are also slightly more... I loathe to use the word "frail" but I am at a loss for another word... than other races. However, until we know what (if any) racial bonuses are I don't think that we can really compare which race would be better for which class.

I think that they are trying to move away from that and may not make racial bonuses that important, allowing players to use the perks and skills gained from your play style (magic "school"/weapon types/armor types etc) to create whatever character you want.

I think both will be excelent battlemages, but Altmer are more 'mage' and Bretons are more 'battle'. :-)

I also wondered about that when reading the description. Elves in general tend to be more small and thin, which usually makes them more agile.. but in the case of Altmer I would imagine they just lack the body for being a warrior (frail is the good word)..

But then there is that description, so I wonder..

Altmer are taller than most races. Its the Bosmer which are smaller because of their dwarven lineage. But I agree Altmer are more inclined to magic though frail is the wrong word. I'd prefer disadvantaged for they are not a weak race as frail would suggest. Would be quite fun to see some of them out there mixing magic with heavy armor and two handed combat though.

Yea,but I'd say the Altmer are good at magic, but they also like magic and swords and armor together,'cause who doesn't,but I'd say the Bretons are the best mages in Tamriel,Like! Who agrees.

Nope, Altmer are the better for they have had most time to refine their skill and its natural as well. Despite the disputes Bosmer are also the best archers due to their natural gifts - it says so in every game. Nothing special about the Kajiit really, they are purrfect as they are ;)

oh yh and nords suck :P

Bosmer having Dwarven lineage? I don't think that's true, the dwemer in TES weren't even short, they stood as tall as any man.

Yes, correct the Dwemer were the roughly the same height as many men however so are the Bosmer. The height difference when i say they are small is very minimal. Half a foot or so which could equate to a small nord etc. Also the Bosmer have colovian strands of DNA aswell but i dont know if that has affected their appearance (browner skin?).

The Bosmer are elves just like the Hobbits from LOTR,so let's just say that they're Hobbits or Small Elves.

If you are going to compare this to LOTR the Bosmer are the elves of Lorien. They are taller than hobbits, by a fair bit. Legolas was Bosmeri

Legolas was a Mirkwood Elf,not a Bosmer, and Bosmer are really small, maybe they're a few inches taller than the Hobbits but they're not the Elves of Lorien, not in the world.

The elves of lorien and the bosmer are both referred to as wood elves.

But Mirkwood are probably the most wooded(don't know how to say it) elves, because they live in Mirkwood, the most largerst in LOTR,and Lorien are a completely different thing.
