Faction & Race:
Daggerfall Covenant (Orc)
Name: Yatur gro-Ushul

Title: The Disgraced

Sex: Male

Age: 22

Birthsign: The Warrior

Occupation

Former slave, mine worker. Penchant for raw materials and gathering metals.

Faction

The Daggerfall Covenant

Appearance

A dark shade of green, almost black. Riddled with scars, and tough skin. Rough beard, little to no hair. Strong arms from working in the mines for the entirety of his life up until this point. Usually wears the heaviest armours, a shield and longsword. (To be expanded)

Personality

Prides himself on following Malacath’s teachings. He will protect those he is with, share knowledge with others, though does not consider those he meets to be his kin and will keep mostly to himself. He is loyal to the people of his kind, though having been rejected by his old stronghold, he finds he has no one to be loyal to. He is a warrior at heart, though raised a broken man.

Social Background/Backstory

Yatur’s father, Chief Johlin of the Ushul stronghold was murdered by his traitorous brother and had been chief for but a few hours. Following this, many of the inhabitants of the Ushul stronghold were murdered, whilst Yatur’s mother was sold into slavery to a fringe group of Altmer, who are not directly under the control of the Dominion. Yatur was born in captivity and worked in the mines from the day he could lift a pick axe. Having found his freedom, luckily through an attack on the mine he had worked in all his life, he now searches for a new stronghold to call home. Tears of the Ancestors

Best Memory

The sounds of the battle that raged above his mine, which would allow him to escape.

Worst Memory

The death of his mother and consequently discovering her fate in the ‘roaring bull’.

Skills

Having spent his life working in a mine, Yatur has considerable skill as a miner, working with raw metals and the use of a mining tools such as pickaxes.

Challenges for the Character

Yatur must find a new stronghold and overcome the loss of his heritage and birthright. Unlike many other Orcs, he was not taught the means to defend his stronghold from birth and faces derision from other Orsimer. He must overcome the title ‘Disgraced’ and build a new legend for himself, putting the Ushul stronghold behind him.

Religious Views

Yatur follows the teachings of the Daedric prince Malacath, patron of the Orsimer.

Very nice, Orcs are underplayed, so great to see an Orc-bio come in! :D

I agree! Orcs are ranking at the lowest in the polls, but they have such a varied and unique caste system ripe for RP. I'm looking forward to exploring their society and making it my own to a certain extent.

Good read Yatur, as well the excerpt from Tears of the Ancestors. Krokun gro-Yata has a few similar linings to your backstory but I'll do what I can to make them as unique as possible. I noticed that in your backstory Yatur lived most of his life as slave in a mine. Do you intend to add more depth into that part of Yatur's life (major events, character development), or did you leave it blank to allow more freedom and growth to the character in-game? Overall, well done. Once I get mine going on a thread let me know what you think!

A fellow Orc. I like the bio, good job. Perhpas Yatur and Opgrum gro-Yul (my Orc character) will meet up in the game and travel together. Unfortunately, Opgrum has lost faith in the Daedra, and no longer follows Malacath. This could be a problem, but perhaps they would find a way to overcome this difference.

The fires burn. Our supplies are spent. Axes are dull, and armor is rent. The enemy approaches, our doom, they seek. We are Daggerfall Covenant. We are Orcs. Our comrades, they come, for glory they seek, at the side of our iron and steel. We will not fall.

Thank you for the recent responses! Feel free to get in touch in-game, it's a bit of a dream of mine to see a full group of Orsimer take on some of the more difficult enemies. Sorry to hear that Opgrum no longer worships Malacath, though this could make for interesting roleplay between us. As Yatur's story will progress, his faith is what kept him motivated during his captivity. Reckless, let me know when you have finished your character bio and I will definitely have a look!
