Werewolves and vampires are in the game as part of the perk system.

It was already mentioned in the official TESO introduction video published 11.07.2012, so not really new or surprising to most of us.

It was mentioned but not confirmed so this is good news for anyone who wants to become a werewolf or vampire. (Me and my guild)

I'm curious about the other perks, I don't want to be neither a werewolf nor a vampire.
I drink the blood of my enemies because I like to and not because I have to. ;-)

It's going to be interesting. I'm going to be a mostly calm khajiit that likes to transform into a giant berzerking wolf. Irony +1.

That would be weird.

I'm curious how being a vampire and wereworlf is going to benefit you in PvE. Maybe you can become one of them for a short duration and it gives you a lot more damage?

I think being a vampire would be more about passive advantages and disadvantages, unless we're talking about vampire LORDS here. Werewolves though don't really have any natural passive advantages or disadvantages other than immunity to disease. In that regard, I'm guessing werewolf will be short duration transformation like you said. Quite possibly an ultimate, so you don't just keep spamming your transformation.

Hm... I think I might make my Altmeri Templar a closet werewolf. That would make for some very interesting roleplay....

I hope they'll finally implement other forms of lycanthropy into the game. AFAIK, wereboars and werebears are the only other forms to have been in TES games, the latter of which was not playable. If we are able to venture into enemy territories, I might instead become a wereboar. ;)

By arrow. By blade.
By tooth. By claw.
By shock. By frost. By flame.
The Aldmeri Dominion will dominate Tamriel.
Our enemies will fall until the Throne is ours.

I hope it is not a choice you'll have to make to build your character into either a better tank or dps for example. Then i hope there is some other perks you can aquire, or maybe its possible to even have more perks. Like half a vampire halv a werewolf.

I highly doubt that there will be a 50/50 vampire/werewolf mix. In every TES lore up until now, nobody can be both. One can switch from one to the other (like with the dawnguard expansion in skyrim), you can't be both at the same time.

I don't see how a catman turning into a werewolf is any more wierd than a lizardman turning into a werewolf. If anything it would be easier and less painful for a Khajiit to turn into a Werewolf. Already has fangs, claws, fur and a tail, everyone else has to grow those from scratch. I honestly think it's wierd for a reptile to turn into a wolfman. When I first began playing TES I could have put money on the fact that Argonians couldn't become werewolves OR vampires for that matter (disease resistance, reptile to mammal?) and yet lo and behold.

Speaking of disadvantages, I would think a vampire battling it out in a PVP during the daytime would be a huge disadvantage. Which brings to question on how time works in the large scale PvP. During a fort raid, if it beings at 6am in-game time, and sunrise is at 7am in-game time, would the setting change and progress like it has in the single-player, from night to dawn. If so, would the game mechanics recognize the change and implement the necessary disadvantages to vampiric characters?

I ask this because the concept of a guild of vampires would need to strategize when to lay siege to a fort, village, etc. Otherwise, the sunrise would turn the tide of battle and they would quickly lose the battle.

Thoughts???
