Take your time - mate :) OH did you have a name in mind? Also, if you can find a character image -- if not, I have a pretty vast library of images so maybe I can find/suggest some :) I just put 'Ayden Wyath' to an image:

I do know I want his first name to be Katic. I haven't settled on a second name yet. I know if there is an option I would like to give him "predator" dreads like my Redguard in Skyrim. It's kind of hard finding a picture for it because it seems there are so few black people in fantasy. My best way of describing it would be "a rookie Vernon Davis with thief leathers." haha

I meant to ask: Will there be a website?

(January 23rd 2013, 07:06 AM)DeaconX Wrote: The lore is just what's posted above. Basically, the town was started as a keep, run by a female Knight named Lady Aribethia Wyath. She served as Knight Captain over a small band of knights. They raised the orphanage, which took in the children of soldiers who lost their parents.

Lady Aribethia ran both the orphanage and the knights who still went out into the land and did their good deeds, but Whitehawke was growing from a keep into a township. Over time, the knights who had become known as The Band of the Hawk got older but raised the orphans with skills and the morals of knights.

While some children who grew up there became members of the town working as blacksmiths, cooks, whatever... others who were more skilled at combat became mercenary 'heroes for hire', representing the Band of the Hawk. The white hawk emblem was a trusted symbol. These mercenaries went out, did good, got paid, brought funds back to Whitehawke to help pay for the orphanage, the new group of orphans and the town itself. This was very much their home so they wanted to take care of it and the orphanage that gave them the life and skills they had.

Meanwhile, descendants of the original knights like my own character, Ayden Wyeth who is Lord of Whitehawke continued in the traditions of their ancestors for the most part as leaders of the Band of the Hawk.

Now that Tamriel is in a bit of upheaval, Ayden called upon any willing members of the Band of the Hawk to take up noble arms not for money, but just because it's the right thing to do, and become CRUSADERS who would help all and try to make sure that whomever took the crown in the coming war would be a good and just person, not one corrupted who would cause more pain and suffering.

SO what this allows us to do is more 'core' members of the guild can be CRUSADERS, and anyone who wants a more relaxed RP experience or can't play often can simply be a mercenary in the Band of the Hawk - wandering, doing what good they can, but not at the forefront of the crusade.

If you like, Kelon can be a descendant of one of the first knights who joined Lady Aribethia in setting up Whitehawke.

Sounds good. However, if you are talking about descendants of the "original knights" I'd like to know a little bit more about them. That way I can create a distinction between me and my descendant story wise. Unless you'd like me to make up one for myself, I can do that to.

There will be a website - I'll try and get something together for the weekend. :)

Absolutely you can! If you do, it could be that your character's ancestor simply joined the Band of the Hawk.

As far as going back even further to the origins of these knights, I'll have to get back to you. Truth is, I've yet to choose a High Rock kingdom from which Aribethia Wyeth hailed which will likely decide the location of Whitehawke.

Awesome :) dig the last name too.

As for your question earlier, I'm thinking the original knights who set up our fort came from Wayrest... http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Wayrest

The knights first went to establish the fort but ended up staying there permanently, running the orphanage dedicated to raising the children of fallen soldiers... and then other orphans as well.

Aribethia had a huge heart and pretty much retired from leading the knights, opting to stay and always be at the orphanage. Over time the knights themselves 'retired' and simply turned into the protective force of the town which Whitehawke became, helping to raise the orphans and settling there to have families of their own.

Just read the lore on wayrest, that works fine.

Hi Pilot, welcome to the thread.

Take a look over the guild lore and let me know what you're thinking for your character, your character name and if you have an image or an idea of what your character looks like maybe I can help find an appropriate image.

Also, out of curiosity, what made you interested in CRUSADERS?

Faction & Race:
Daggerfall Covenant (Redguard)
Name: Katic Tu’quatha

Class: Stealth, Thief

Katic was bore into the poverty stricken ports of Rihad to a fisherman father and a mother who spent her time making the best from what she had while her husband was away at sea. At the age of three Katic gained a little brother, Alak’r, who, despite the age difference between their young lives, became his best friend. Katic fealt an immense sense of dedication to his younger brother. Even at such a young age he sensed his parent’s hardships and would do anything to make his younger brother’s life as easy as possible, often forgoing meals to feed his brother’s rabid young appetite.

The two brothers were as close as could be. Their mother taught them the basics. Religion, the alaphabet, their numbers, things they would need to get by in life and Katic excelled at them all. When their mother was finished they would play simple games to entertain themselves until their father came home recounting tales of the days catch or, more often than not, they fell asleep.

Life changed for Katic halfway through his eighth year. One night he lied awake in bed unable to sleep.( He was a fussy sleeper and it was always a pain for his parents to get him to sleep through the night.) He lied in bed curious of what his lessons his mother would teach them in the morning when he heard what sounded like footsteps in the house. Not thinking anything of it (It was probably Alak’r having a bad dream and wanting comfort from mom and dad.) he eventually drifted off to sleep.
Upon waking the next morning he was surprised to find his mother not up and about, hustling and bustling as she usually was in that time of morning. He started calling her name. No answer… So he checked her room. This is when everything changed. Life would never be the same.

There lie his mother and father in a pool of dried dark brown blood. His father had his hands cut off and throat cut, his mother only her throat cut. He noticed that between their bodies lie a piece of parchment with a bloody palm print on it. It was almost too much for his young mind to register until he thought of his brother. He ran into his quarters and he was gone. Not a trace. Whoever, or whatever had done this to his parents had taken his brother.

Fearing he was an oversight and whoever did this would be coming back for him he gathered what little supplies he could manage to fit into a sack and go into hiding. He knew the streets of Rihad would be rough, but his world had been turned upside down in a matter of minutes and that was hardly a concern.

Over the years living on the streets Katic learned that in order to survive his quick hand and stealthy approach would serve him well. This helped him acquire more than one loaf of bread at the markets when the merchants had their backs turned. He also quickly learned that a dagger is an orphan’s best friend for obvious reasons.

At age eleven another life altering event happened. A Band of the Hawk mercenary was dispatched into Rihad to investigate a string of murders of the concubines in the area. By chance Katic saw this man and pin pointed him as a great pick pocket target. He attempted to reach his hand in his garment and the mercenary saw him. Rather than batter the boy, the mercenary took him back to the inn he was staying at. He questioned him why he arrived at this juncture. Why he did the things he did. Upon listening to Katic’s story the mercenary heart went out to the boy and took him back to Whitehawke. ( He left the concubine murders unsolved., Feeling that Katic could be of great service in the future given his remarkable ability to survive on his own since his parent’s death.)

It’s been fifteen years since the mercenary picked Katic up off the streets of Rihad. He is now an invaluable scout although a bit maladjusted socially. Since the tragedy at age eight he refuses to let himself get close to anyone in fear that he may lose them in the same way he lost his family. Naturally because of this the the only woman's love he has ever known was the cheap kind easily attained from the many harlots outside Whitehawke's walls.

He still dreams of finding his brother and finding the people who left the mysterious note one his parents’ bodies, but for now he has other things diverting his attention... and there is always a glass of ale to ease the memories.

Good stuff Katic :) I know I definitely have to write something like this out for Ayden as well when I have the time. Just out of curiosity, do you have a plan for the brother or what actually happened that night or is it something you hope to add on later?

It COULD be really cool if in the future, we're playing TESO and you've got a quest to take down some group of baddies and you decide to work them into this background story :) so it becomes a really personal mission, bringing along some friends and allies to try and help you solve what happened and possibly find your brother.
