I'm interested in joining this noble guild of knights what must I do to join the crusaders on their noble journey of honour and freedom. I eagerly await your response.

Sincerely Joshua Guardian-Blade

Hi Joshua :)

The first thing I'd like to ask of you is to read the first post in this thread so you understand the lore background of the guild. Know that your character doesn't HAVE to be a 'knight' in the traditional sense, so you can build your character however you like as far as combat style goes as long as they adhere to the lore of the guild.

Second, I'd love to see your idea for your character. A very brief character background, name and image if you can find something to show how you envision your character. If not, you can provide a description and I'll try to suggest something that could work.

Welcome to the thread and look forward to getting to know you - cheers!

Class: Stealth, Thief
Katic was bore into the poverty stricken ports of Rihad to a fisherman father and a mother who spent her time making the best from what she had while her husband was away at sea. At the age of three Katic gained a little brother, Alak’r, who, despite the age difference between their young lives, became his best friend. Katic fealt an immense sense of dedication to his younger brother. Even at such a young age he sensed his parent’s hardships and would do anything to make his younger brother’s life as easy as possible, often forgoing meals to feed his brother’s rabid young appetite.
The two brothers were as close as could be. Their mother taught them the basics. Religion, the alaphabet, their numbers, things they would need to get by in life and Katic excelled at them all. When their mother was finished they would play simple games to entertain themselves until their father came home recounting tales of the days catch or, more often than not, they fell asleep.
Life changed for Katic halfway through his eighth year however. One night he lied awake in bed unable to sleep.( He was a fussy sleeper and it was always a pain for his parents to get him to sleep through the night.) He lied in bed curious of what his lessons his mother would teach them in the morning when he heard what sounded like footsteps in the house. Not thinking anything of it (It was probably Alak’r having a bad dream and wanting comfort from mom and dad.) he eventually drifted off to sleep.
Upon waking the next morning he was surprised to find his mother not up and about, hustling and bustling as she usually was in that time of morning. He started calling her name. No answer… So he checked her room. This is when everything changed. Life would never be the same.
There lie his mother and father, or what most likely was them, in a pool of dried dark brown blood. His father had his hands cut off and throat cut, his mother only her throat cut. He noticed that between their bodies lie a piece of parchment with a bloody palm print on it. It was almost too much for his young mind to register until he thought of his brother. He ran into his quarters and he was gone. Not a trace. Whoever, or whatever had done this to his parents had taken his brother.
Fearing he was an oversight and whoever did this would be coming back for him he gathered what little supplies he could manage to fit into a sack and go into hiding. He knew the streets of Rihad would be rough, but his world had been turned upside down in a matter of minutes and that was hardly a concern.
Over the years living on the streets Katic learned that in order to survive his quick hand and stealthy approach would serve him well. This helped him aquire more than one loaf of bread at the markets when the merchants had their backs turned. He also quickly learned that a dagger is an orphan’s best friend for obviouse reasons.
At age eleven another life altering event happened. A Band of the Hawk mercenary was dispatched into RIhad to investigate a string of murders of the concubines in the area. By chance Katic saw this man and pin pointed him as a great pick pocket target. He attempted to reach his hand in his garmet and the mercenary saw him. Rather than batter the boy, the mercenary took him back to the inn he was staying at. He questioned him why he arrived at this juncture. Why he did the things he did. Upon listening to Katic’s story the mercenary heart went out to the boy and took him back to Whitehawke. ( He left the concubine murders unsolved., Feeling that Katic could be of great service in the future given his remarkable ability to survive on his own since his parent’s death. His heart also weant out to the boy.)
It’s been fifteen years since the mercenary picked Katic up off the streets of Rihad. He is now an invaluable scout. He still dreams of finding his brother and finding the people who left the mysterious note one his parents’ bodies, but for now he has other things diverting his attention.

Good stuff Katic :) I know I definitely have to write something like this out for Ayden as well when I have the time. Just out of curiosity, do you have a plan for the brother or what actually happened that night or is it something you hope to add on later?

It COULD be really cool if in the future, we're playing TESO and you've got a quest to take down some group of baddies and you decide to work them into this background story :) so it becomes a really personal mission, bringing along some friends and allies to try and help you solve what happened and possibly find your brother.

Oh yes I deffinitely have plans for the brother. That gaping hole and the small clue I left in the back story about the tragedy will play a role throughout the game haha.

Talon Wyeth- My Story

Faith has a way of intertwining even the most Opposite of Spirits....and in a sense that's what made my story possible. Cronus, a young Redguard on a mission to find his purpose, paved the way for what inadvertly brought me into existence. His adventure brought him aid from the unlikely person who Birthed me. Her name is Czaelia, a prisoner of Sithis (God of Chaos), who was taken as a prize for her natural beauty and was freed by Cronus during his quest for purpose. She used her beautiful eyes to divert Sithis' attention long enough for Cronus to use a Dark Soul Gem to temporarily capture him freeing her in the process. She was enriched with relief and freedom and so Cronus was invigorated with a gift from her tree of Life (A night of Passion). As they part ways he would always be remembered in her mind and she within him. He would never know the seed of life that was planted in her on that fruitful night. She also would never know the pain that his birth would forever entrance upon her for it would be one of only one year where she would get the chance to look into the childs eyes. For 1 year after the childs birth tragedy struck as she carried him through "The Death Lands". A shadowy figure layed darkness as it engulfed her reflection in a nearby pool of water. Her heart rate slowly increasing as she looked above only to see a flash of a creature above her. She stumbles as the child held close to her bosom slips out her hands. Before she could get to her knees she only has a chance to see the Talons grasp her child and lift him out of her reach. She screams as the creature takes off with her child, who never made the slightest sound of anguish. She falls back to her knees as only the dark outline of the creature disappears into the horizon. Tradegy..........

Or so it seemed, as the child was wrapped in a blanket, the talons of the creature slowly tore through its delicate fabric. With every flap of its wings the fabric loses its strength. Miles must have passed for as the creature swooped down surveying the grounds the blanket gives way and the child falls out of the sky. The creature still grasping the blanket flies away as if never noticing the loss of her evening meal.
Anya Wyeth of WhiteHawke is stunned as she sees the shadow of this creature, just as the childs mother did, engulf her figure. She looks above and out of nowhere she notices the dark form of a child falling out of the heavens. As the child nears she hears its cries as the dark figure tumbles above her. She extends her arms to gracefully catch him before falling to his death. She is puzzled as the naked little redguard cries clueless to how he could fall from the heavens. The child safe, he stops crying as their eyes meet, for something about her eyes must be familiar to him. Anya feels as if this child is a gift from the Gods and the thoughts are endlessly flowing through her mind as she brings him to what will become his new home. The child is not completely un-scathed as he has a wound slightly bleeding in the shape of a Talon. This along with her thoughts of his dark figure falling out the heavens. She calls him Talon...she walks back to the orphanage attending his wounds in awe as to what just happened.....and his story begins....(The orphanage of WhiteHawke)

I can add more stories of growing up in the orphanage in the future if interested. This story took literally 5 minutes and was fun to type up.

Hey Joshua :) I'd love to help you with your character stuff if you don't mind.

Firstly, thank you for your interest in CRUSADERS!

Secondly, I think you may want to consider a more 'Role Play/Lore Fitting' name than 'Guardian-Blade' because that sounds more like a gamer tag than an actual fantasy name someone would be born to.

As for writing your brief character bio, I can tell you have a story envisioned but the execution is a little off. Generally, these are written in third person. If you don't mind, I'd like to help write it for you. Feel free to review and revise. Perhaps some of the lore isn't clear, but the CRUSADERS is a new thing and those original knights have all died long ago. Only their descendants carry on in Whitehawke.

If I may suggest a new bio:

Born as the only son of two nobles, Joshua's young life was one of great privilege. At the age of seven, he and his family were en-route to Cyrodiil on family business when their caravan was attacked by bandits from the Aldmeri Dominion.

His mother quickly hid Joshua while his father bought the two time, fighting bravely against their attackers. Joshua watched his father's valiant attempts to save his family from a hidden place until his father was violently slain. His mother soon followed, forever imprinting a strong hatred for the Aldmiri Dominion in Joshua's heart.

Soon after the attack, Joshua was discovered by a priest who knew of the Whitehawke orphanage. Delivering the child, Joshua spent the rest of his years training at the orphanage and honing his skills, hoping to one day take revenge on the Aldmiri who took his family.

Hi Talon! Thank you for your interest in CRUSADERS!

I love your story - you have a great mind for imagery. I do have a few notes however:

1. TALON is a great name to an unnamed child. You gave it symbolism so it works well. 'Dark Talon' however ceases to sound like a person's name and becomes more like a title or gamer tag. I would suggest either simply calling him TALON, OR, perhaps Talon Wyeth IF...

2. Aribethia Wyeth died nearly 2 hundred years ago as Whitehawke was established prior to the game. I realize I should clarify that in my lore section. However, it's still possible that Aran Wyeth, descendant of Aribethia Wyeth (my character's father, previous lord of Whitehawke) found and caught Talon that night. In which case, you can either say that he felt something was truly special about the child and basically adopted him thus he became 'Talon Wyeth', Ayden's step-brother, OR you could just leave the character name as Talon which is also cool.

Sorry for the confusion about Aribethia, I'll amend the lore to reflect the time that has passed. Love the character pic btw.

That's no problem at all. Is there another lady in your lore that could have caught Talon as a child. I love the significance of the child calming down when noticing something in her eyes after he was caught. Another descendant of your choice would fit in just as well as long as he was found by a woman. Talon standalone is fine with me also or Wyeth as an adopted last name. Either suits me just fine as having a sense of a step brother or so would be nice. I like your ideas. Do I need to edit the story with the changes or is this something that will need to be adjusted in my character profile once filling it out is available?

Thanks for your kind words. You know I have always had something inside of me for writing fiction. My mind just sparks and it just flowed writing my characters story. I can easily see myself writing his lifetimes worth of adventure as he grows up.

Anya Wyeth has passed away, but she was Ayden's mother, Aran's wife and the head of the orphanage. She might better suit what you're looking for - VERY motherly, big heart and all.

You don't have to amend anything here for now - this is more of a discussion. As far as I'm concerned you're in :) and once I have the website up, everyone will just fill out the application where you can post the amended version of the bio.

Welcome to the Crusaders, Talon.

Thanks for my acceptance. I edited the original with Anya Wyeth finding Talon on the eventful evening. I'll work on more of his story and post it a a later date once I have a nice chapter for him. I cant wait to hear the story of your character. The artwork for him is great and its cool that two people with worlds of difference become step brothers. My character will focus on stealth and Marksmanship. It'll be interesting incorporating Ayden in future installments of my story. I would welcome the inclusion of my character in yours too. It would be awesome to see how Ayden reacts to the little Redguard being welcomed to his household. Is he puzzled or worried as to the where abouts of this kid that just fell out of the sky? Is he initially jealous of the attention the child gets since it seems he was an only child? The things that go through our minds in real life. I cant wait to add some of that in my story as since I was only one. Ya'll are the only family I would have ever known. But the dreams...the woman in my dreams.....who is she? LOL

For sure I'll probably write the day Talon was brought into the orphanage as a short story or something. :)

Not sure how old you were thinking Talon will be when the game launches, but Ayden will have turned 30. Just so you're aware.

As long this doesn't turn into a Thor and Loki kind of relationship, all should be good lol.

Ayden in his youth was a bit of a rascal. He's always had a heart for adventure and truth be told, didn't WANT to be tied down to the responsibility of staying in Whitehawke. He wanted to grow up to be one of the mercenaries and travel the world... life it seems had different plans for him and he's stepped up as his father is getting old and his mind is slipping ever closer into the afterlife, towards Anya.

As kids, Ayden was likely the kind of older brother who got the younger one in trouble by involving Talon. But he'd love his younger brother - someone to share in the adventures and all that.

Now however, he feels the weight of all the morals taught to him by his father, and the empathy inherited from his mother. Basically, he kind of wants to be 'superman' and save the world... but not lead. He actually hates having to lead and wants to be a free spirit... but... it's fallen upon him and he intends to live up to his family name.

"It's evil enough for the good to do nothing."

This is why he formed the CRUSADERS - to ensure that 'evil' doesn't prevail in the quest for Cyrodiil's crown. He doesn't want it for himself, but he'd like to make sure the world is in a much better place when he dies, than when he came into it.

I am very pleased with this new bio for my character, and it sounds much more lore friendly. If you would be so kind do you have any suggestions for my character name in generally or based on his bio? I also will use the new bio you have created for my character.

Sincerely Joshua Guardian-Blade
