((See planning thread for details: http://www.tesof.com/topic-a-dance-of-sw...p-planning.))

Lord Rickard Arryn looked out from his window in his Chambers in the Red Keep of King's Landing. He had arrived with his second son Ser Jon Arryn who would fight in the tourney, fifty Blue Cloaks from the Eyrie and a few dozen others such as servants and Cooks a few Days ago.

He had noticed that Robert Baratheon had gained some weight since he last saw him, yet the remained the same oaf that Lord Rickard had become fond of during the rebellion against the Targaryens. Seeing Lord Eddard Stark was also a sight that lifted his spirit higher, Eddard was a friend of his and an honorable man, something that was rare in the capital of King's Landing.

The Rat's nest that many thought as the "Great capital of Westeros" was not a safe place, due to that Rickard had left his eldest son and heir along with Rickards wife and daughters at the Eyrie.

The tourney would start the next day and Rickard son had high expectations, Jon would fight in the meele and just with lances. Rickard was sure that he would make him proud, he was skilled with a blade and lance both, clever and gallant. He had gained a high Place in the last tourney he had fought in, though he had not ended among the best.

He had a fear though that his son would get to meet someone like Gregor Clegane.

Though also in King's Landing were a lot many highborn people, Lord Rickard could do well with a few more friends at the Court...

Rules

1: No god-modding, like for example in some miracle way winning a battle with a wall of text when your opponent has gotten you in a tough spot were you would lose or suffer Heavy losses... If you have lost accept the defeat. These battles will focus much on strategies. If you opponent finds a weak spot in your strategies you can try to fix it, but use strategies instead of god-modding.

2: Not making too many moves at once, your opponent need a chance to counter them.

3: Dont move across a continent in a few posts, well not really but you get my Point. More specific info about how long you can move your army in a day will come later.

4: Not taking Control of the other players stuff, they can move their armies for example how they like. Like for example not moving an enemy army into an ambush that you have made without the other players get a chance to avoid it. Nor make Another players character dirnk lets say a poisoned cup of wine.

5: Not killing the players main characters, alts may be allowed...

6: What you do will have consequences. If you ((for example)) insult someone they will remember it and you will have problems dealing with that person in the future.

7: Treat your fellow roleplayers with respect, and this is just a game for fun so no need for hard feelings.

"Lord Randyll." Ser Hyle Hunt spoke as he walked into the room. He was a man of a plain face hazel eyes and short brown hair the only distinguishing feature was a curved scar that started under his left ear and followed along part of his jaw line.

Ser Hyle was a reasonably sized man though in all aspects he was rather average perhaps kinder than the average knight in temperament. He was skilled in combat and he had fought under Lord Randyll and respected the man. Ser Hyle was dressed in his full armor and had his sword at his side. He had his hand gently relaxing on it's hilt as he waited for Lord Randyll's reply.

Randyll turned to Hyle and with his usual intense grimace put down the quill he had been writing with. A letter laid out in front of him mostly finished rested securely under the quill and ink wells weight as Randyll stood. He wore black clothing little accents other than a broach on the collar with his house symbol. A sheathed sword and dagger both were attached at his side the old soldier was always prepared.

"Is Mace going to be in attendance?" He said little emotion in his voice as he looked to the door behind Hyle which was still open giving a slight nod for it to be shut.

"No I don't believe so, but Loras Tyrell is going to be participating in the tourney by all accounts." Ser Hyle said with a slight apprehension as he did not wish to participate in the tourney against such a capable warrior. He quietly closed the door as Randyll had gestured for.

"The flower of high garden...at least he's better than his father." Randyll said with a scoff. "Ser Hyle fetch Dickon and get him ready for to attend the tourney. When you have handled these matters and everyone is ready for the tourney return here. Until then no further disturbances other than urgent matters." Randyll said his stern voice carrying it's usual weight.

Ser Hyle nodded and exited the room closing the door behind him. He moved at a leisurely pace to attend to his business.

After putting on a rich blue embroided garment lined with fur, and his blue and cream cloak with the Falcon of House Arryn on. Rickard walked out from his Chambers followed by five Blue Cloaks, he grimaced of the reek that came in from the windows from the city. He already missed the Eyrie. He would first speak with Lord Eddard, to offer his apologies for his son Brandon's fall and help in any way he could. He had the ancestral Valyrian longsword of House Arryn named Skywing sheated at his waist, for he trusted not many of the people here, least of all those Lannisters.

Skywing had symbols in high Valyrian inscribed on the blade and its hilt was made of silver in the shape of two wings between were you held it and the blade itself. In the bottom of it sat a large and Beautiful sapphire.

He walked swiftly with long strides. He passed several he regognized, old friends to him such as Petyr Baelish, even though he did not fully trust the man he was friendly and had helped Rickard and the Vale quite a lot. He also saw faces that he were less happy to see, for example the Kingslayer that he eyed coldy as he passed.

He was nearing the Tower of the Hand as he encountered Robert Baratheon. "Your Grace." Rickard greeted him and bowed. Robert grimaced and said "Seven hells Rickard its good to see you, how long has it been?" he grinned and embraced him and patted him on the shoulder Rickard grinned back and did the same towards Robert as he answered "Aye it has been long, five years I Believe. How are you faring these Days your grace?"

Robert answered smiling "Drinking and whoring myself towards an early Death!" and with his smile vanishing and his voice getting a Little lower "And are trying to endure being surrounded by Lannisters. Were are you heading?"

Rickard replied "To Lord Eddard Your Grace, I have some things to discuss with him." Robert nodded and patted him on the shouder once again Before he kept Walking flanked by Ser Mandon Moore and Ser Barristan Selmy and followed by Ser Boros Blount. Rickard nodded a greeting towards the Kingsguards and kept Walking towards The Tower of the Hand.

Lord Gerold Grafton smiled as he arrived at the docks of King's Landing. The journey by sea had been quick with no trouble from pirates, storms, or bad weather. "My love," he asked Lady Velena, "did you have a pleasant journey?" "Of course," she said absentmindedly rubbing her bulging stomach, "I missed being at sea." "As did I, but I am eager to get back on dry land," Lord Gerold said, "now I must go talk to Jon, Lancel and Benjen." With a smile and a kiss of Lady Velena's hand Lord Gerold turned around and walked bellow decks to where two of his sons and his squire should be. "Thank you, Ser Harlen," said Lord Gerold as his son's protector opened the door leading bellow decks. Ser Elyas nodded and walked to the deck, eager to see King's Landing. Lord Gerold walked to the farthest cabin from the door, where his sons and squire sparred daily.

Lord Gerold opened the door to see Jon and Ser Lancel sparring with wooden swords and shields while Benjen stood off to the side resting and drinking from a waterskin. Ser Lancel tried an overhead attack at Jon who blocked with his shield then stabbed at Ser Lancel's exposed stomach. With a deft movement Ser Lancel blocked it but before he could attack again Lord Gerold called out, "enough! We are almost at King's Landing. Go get dressed into something appropriate and meet on deck in a half-hour." With that Lord Gerold turned around and left to go listen to his own advice.

Lord Gerold grimaced, it was disappointing that he could not bring his heir here because of politics, attacks, and murders. Opening the door to his room he was surprised that his garment he had decided to wear was already on his bed. Taking off his current shirt he quickly changed into the noble garment. Soft and warm, it showed his family's coat-of-arms and his Lord's, Lord Rickard Arryn, coat-of-arms in the top right corner.

Lord Gerold finished dressing, strapped his sword belt on, and headed to the open deck happy to see most everyone else ready. The only person not ready yet was Lady Velena. "Bryan, a few feet in front of me. Benjen, Lancel, and Jon, behind me. Blue Cloaks, follow us and cover the sides, slightly staggered. 30 of you stay on the ship to protect it," as Lord Gerold finished Lady Velena walked out and took her place next to her husband, slightly smiling. With a nod, the group started forward as Lord Gerold saw Ser Cregan finish up with the man checking their papers and extracting a docking fee. Ser Cregan shook the man's hand then walked to his place in the group, to the right of and slightly behind Lord Gerold.

Meanwhile, in one of the larger buildings at Fleabottom, Neherun and Lucien Degaule were seated at the table, pouring themselves wine and discussing.

"The wine has seen better days" grumbled Neherun whilst he leered down at his glass, to which Lucien replied with a mocking tone: "And here I thought the company would have seen better days." Neherun grabs a knife from the table, sticking its blade to the soft wood. "At least this old man didn't sell his house to the Lannisters." The discussion took heat.

Lucien: "- Listen, The Cheat and the mightiest Sodomite within the Realm. I did what was best for our house."
Neherun: "Sold your allegiance to the ones that took our lands in the first place?"
"- I sold our allegiance to the most powerful house in Westeros."
"And what if they are no longer the most powerful house?"
"- Then we'll change houses."
"And you really thought Tywin would just let you do that, once he comes to realize your little scheme?"
"- Sly deeds go unnoticed, father."
"Not from him, you imbecile."
"- Highly unlikely to happen in near future no matter the case. The Throne is practically half-Lannister, once the Lardking of Baratheon chokes on his own pork."
"Well, you are correct there, the rumormongering courtiers speak that the throne could even as well be full-blown Lannister."
"- That'd be most unfortunate."
"Yet still, in your naive foolishness you have not taken into account that the throne might not change in more than a while."
"- In such case I am willing to be patient."
"And what will you do meanwhile?"
"- Prepare our house to celebrate homecoming."
"Start by removing your status of being unmarried"
"- Widowed, father, widowed."
"Whores don't count, imbecile."
"- You married something of a whore, did you not?"
"And I was a fool to do so, don't you be son of a fool who follows his father."
"- We both married out of lust, I have no quarrels with that."
"And look where it got us. The mask now hangs upon a ransacked mansion, and the Degaule can speak of themselves as the most powerful house in Fleabottom."

Both of them stood up from the table, just glaring at each other they went separate ways, yet both were headed to the court of King's Landing.

Seth halycon adjusted the saddle of Ilesborn, William's favorite horse.

"There you go Will. I fed her this morning so she should be all ready to go."

"Thanks. Sorry to ask you for this. I was busy preparing and I didn't think i could trust the servants with my best..."

"save it friend. It's no trouble for me. I'm glad to help you. I'm just not sure why you are even going to this tournament. You aren't competing."

"Samantha's cousins are so it would be rude not to go. They made not be immediate family but with someone like Phjorn, any possibility of seeming less than honorable needs to be quelled."

"They aren't your cousins though. This isn't your family. This isn't your kind of life. Have you ever noticed the way you are always sent away when other noble families visit? or how you were specifically told not to enter the tournament? They're ashamed of you. They're ashamed their daughter married a pale bastard like yourself."

William brushed Ilesborn's hair and climbed on.

"Or maybe their just afraid the way i look scares people. Scars on my forehead. Bony as a beggar. Hair as black as death."

"I can't help it if I got the looks in the family." They laughed. It was true though. He wasn't as scrawny. His hair was a light brown like sand at the begining of a rainstorm. He always liked to tease William for his strange appearance.

"I wonder if you'll grow ugly if you ever get to the Warlocks. They aren't exactly known for their looks."

"Don't mock my ambition. I'll make it to Quarth someday."

"Well first you could open the gate so i can start on the trail." As much as William respected Seth, he knew he was chasing an empty dream. He had seen his alchemy skills. While good enough at that he could never make it. He kicked the horse a bit and started riding. It only took a few minutes to catch up to the procession of his House servants headed for King's landing where his family had insisted on going ahead of him. Maybe there was some truth to what Seth had said. They did always seem as though they wanted to seperate themselves from him.

Lord Gerold Grafton and his group arrived at the Red Keep. They should have quarters right next to their lord, Lord Rickard Arryn. As they walked to their quarters Lord Gerold saw his lord's son, Jon. "Ser Jon," he called out walking towards him, "can you show us your family's quarters? It has been to long since I have been here and I forget where it is exactly," Lord Gerold stopped in front of Jon.

(OOC: @"Archmage Alator" can you take control of Jon?)

((Aye ^^))

Jon looked at Gerold and smiled "Our quarters is the floor of this Tower just above yours, just up the stairs. Forgive me but the tourney will start in a few hours. I'll have to get down there now. Will anyone of you fight in the tourney? In that case you could accompany me there."

He smiled and gestured the way to the Arryn quarters.

Lord Gerold smiled in return, "thank you," he replied, "these three are also fighting in the tournament." Lord Gerold stepped out of the way and gestured to Ser Benjen, Ser Lancel and his squire, Jon Torrent. All three stepped forward to accompany Ser Jon. Ser Benjen raised his hand for a handshake, having served as the squire of Lord Rickard when he was younger he had a good relationship with Ser Jon. "I shall be down at the tournament within an hour, my love, do you want to accompany them down to the tournament?" "Yes, I think I will. I shall inform Lord Rickard of your arrival if I see him." Lady Velena stepped forward standing behind Jon Torrent. "Ser Alf, accompany them," Lord Gerold said. One of the Blue Cloaks stepped out of line to accompany the tourney-goers. "Ser Robar, Ser Harlen, and Ser Domeric, protect your charges from harm outside of the tournament," Lord Gerold said to three more Blue Cloaks.

An hour passed by and the tourney drew near. Randyll had finished his work some time ago, but he sat in silence quietly thinking his stern expression giving no tells to the thoughts. A knock came at the door and he heard Ser Hyle "Everyone ready your son and the guards are assembled are you ready to join us Lord Randyll."

Lord Randyll replied in his usual gruff tone "As always I am prepared." He spoke in a sure confident tone as he stood up from his chair and picked up the blade sword laid next to it fastening it to his belt. He walked out and into the mix of his guards approaching his son.

"Dickon are you ready? Someday I expect you to place in one of these tournaments and hopefully to win you will bring honor to our family to our house will you not?" Randyll said looking down to the boy. Dickon gave a confident nod and smiled he was in many ways the apple of his father's eye he did wonder what happened to his brother, but kept a quite tongue on the matter as it always seemed to cause anger and sadness when mentioned.

Randyll walked at the head of his knights with Dickon next to him. He talked about King's Landing and it's history he talked of Robert's Rebellion battles lost and battles won. Dickon listened intently as did some of the knights including Ser Hyle Hunt. They were all including Randyll himself excited for the Tourney it was always a pleasure to see warriors test their mettle against one another. Randyll often thought he may enter, but age is a truth he had come to accept and unwise decisions were not in his nature.

They parted at the tents.

Jon bid his companions Farewell and entered his blue Arryn tent. As Jon's squire donned his armor inside his tent he was thinking about who he would face in the tourney, he hoped for a Lannister, though perhaps not the Kingslayer. He wanted to make his father proud by sending one of those golden-haired lions into the ground. The armor was a beautiful steel plate armor, with a deep blue enmaled in the steel that made it shine in the sun with a dark-blue light, though the steel along the edges such as the edge of Jon's shoulder pads was not enmaled and had a silvery colour instead of a blue one. On it, especially on the chest were splendid carvings, for example two identical Falcons just below his shoulders above his nipples that were turned against eachother, between them they held a band that were to symbolize that the Arryn's were loyal and did not abandon a friend. Jon's helmet had two Falcon wings in steel on it (Like the steel plate helmet in Skyrim) and had the same colour as the rest of the armor except for a line that went from the middle of it between his Eyes and contuined down to were the helmet ended at his neck were the steel was silvery.

He walked out from his tent in his armor and mounted his horse, a great horse that were as White as snow. The Arryn banner hung from both sides of the horse. He was handed his shield by his squire, the steel along the edge of it was formed in the shape of Clouds, in the middle of the shield was a falcon's head. The Falcon and the Clouds on the shield was not enmaled and shone with a silvery light, the rest of the shield was enmaled the same dark blue as the most of Jon's armor.

He rode forth to several other Knights, lords and squires that also were about to joust with Lances soon.

He looked at the audience, great people from all of Westeros were here, cheering as a Crakehall Knight sent one with the sigil of an owl into the ground.

Randyll led his son and his men into the stands where they quietly took their place. He did not look to sit with his house or among others he was hear as were is men to enjoy the tourney to watch the competitors to see who was the best the Seven Kingdoms had to offer on this day. Randyll watched intently the look on his face showed the intent as he looked on watching the fighters the way they moved the weak points the strong ones. He did enjoy the joust, but it was always the blade that interested him most.

Dickon was in awe as he watched the tournament seeing so many faces of people he had read or heard tales about all while looking across to the King it was almost to much for the child to handle. Ser Hyle Hunt watched as well amused and longingly as if he wished he had joined, but he didn't stand much of a chance against the likes of many of these men.
