Ok, so I have have seen in YouTube comments and in some posts about Shouts, so their will be no Dragonborn, and you can't use words of power and some people are mad about this. But think about, 100 to 200 people Shouts use say Fus ro dah and just flying people allover the place. And now people are saying that your character has learned one shout and you choose it say they're 5 shouts to pick Fus ro dah, ice form, fire breath, Whirlwind sprint, and the one where you can't harm anything and you can't harm anything. But that would be dumb I mean say 80 people shouting at you and your guild.

There are absolutely no shouts in this game. There is no dragonborne here. That question is almost as bad as asking if there will be dragons in ESO. Anyone who told you fus roh Dah will be in this game doesn't know what they are talking about

End the thread. shouts are in skyrim that is all

this is the elderscrolls online. not skyrim online.

Although i would like to see spells actually spoken when being used. like a caster wants to cast frostball he says frostball in some runic magik language that represents frostball. this is what i want. id love to hear players actually yelling out words and spells as they attack and defend ot would add hugely to immersion infact Im gonna make a thread for it.

Don't bother since that isn't how spells are cast in tes

Do spells get pulled out of your arse in teso?...no they dont. so implementing some form of voice for a spell which is cast or a ability used is only benefit to the game there is no downside to this.

Well seeing as no other TES game has "incantations" for spells, it would make no sense. That's not how magic works in Tamriel. If you are thinking like the kind of primal shout or something along those lines ("rrrrrAAAAAAH!" Sort of thing) that might be cool, but why invent some new piece of lore that doesn't fit into the greater scheme of things, when it would be easier, less expensive, and more logical to just add an extra grunt or shout to the game. And by shout I mean a real yell not dragonborne shouts

Spells are cast using intelligence and willpower, not words.

I'm with the others on this. This isn't like the early Eragon series where the spell is controlled through the language of the elves. All of the shaping of a spell is done purely inside the mind (with the exception of rituals). If magic WAS controlled through words, then dragon-language shouts would be nothing special. Also considering how fast people can cast in TES lore, it would be kind of odd to hear people yell "Ice, ice, ice, ice, ice, ice" (or the equivalent in the different language) while casting something like ice spike.

Shouts are honestly just a bother for me... Nothing's wrong with simply using a sword or an axe with the occasional shield to take some people out.

Well, from lore point of view, every Nord can use the Thu'um to a degree, even without studying and meditating in the way of the voice and without being a dragonborn. The Thu'um had always been an important thing in Nord culture, just like the soul swords in the Redguard culture and the Hist in the Argonian culture. But Zenimax calls the Thu'um a "long lost mystery" in TESO times... it´s not a long lost mystery in the 4th era, so in the second era the Thu'um should be even more dominant.
