I know ZOS want to make it "Elderscrollsy", but i really dont like the idea that you can be anything you want, ANYTHING. All i think i will see is a bunch of hybrids running around, and people who can just do everything. i dont want to do pvp where healers can be tanks and dps at the same time. i want there to be restrictions based on class. say, if you pick sorcerer, your leveling for melee/bow and heavy/med armor will be VASTLY harder. if you can make a super hybrid character that can heal, tank, and dps, i want ZOS to make it CHALLENGING for the players. naturally, a mage wouldnt be compotent with weapons. vise versa for a warrior and cloth, magic. if i select sorcerer as my class, i dont WANT to be able to just put on heavy armor and a 2 hander and just level away. to me, there needs to be some kind of restrictions if you want to level non logical skills for your character. if everyone can be anything, eventually, everyone will level every skill, meaning everyone will be the same. i dont want that. i know you can level different abilities and morph them, but to me that doesnt solve the problem, because everyone will still fullfill the holy trinity all by themselves eventually. if theres something im missing or info im not aware or, i apologize and please let me know

I personally want to be a DPS warrior with one hand sword and shield, also using destruction magic, then retreat as a healer, I think it is a reasonable assumption that I will be able to be who I want.
We can only exceed in 2 or 3 crafting trees, any more than that will be meta chars.
The devs did say in the beginning they were trying to get away from the holy trinity and make all rounded chars where we can be who we want, I don't think they intend use to be a one man army and be able to be all of the trinity, but maybe exceed as one but be sufficient as all.

yeah but thats the thing. dont you think if players could/were able to be a spell/weapon/bow dps and healer at the same time, dont you think everyone would? everyone will be running around as the same all around player who can do good melee and spell damage and also heal. you could say well maybe some people dont like healing so they wont do it. but when people see how much of a disadvantage it is to not be able to heal yourself when everyone else can, then they will go for healing. the way it seems, people will end up being all the same, come level 50/endgame

First of all you can only switch between 2 sets at the same time.
Second of all, why would you want more restrictions? If you want to be a pure healer or pure tank or pure DPS then do it. Nobody is stopping you.

Not everybody wants to be a jack of all trades, yet master of none. For example, I don't plan on putting much or any time into bows with my main, so I can put more time and perks into melee and magic. The same thing can be said for the Holy Trinity, a player that works on tank and healer wouldn't be as great of a tank as someone who only worked on tank, or someone who only worked on healing.

Always remember that there is a limit to skill points immediately available. You won't be able to do absolutely everything. If you try to slot points into everything as you level you will find yourself at a disadvantage, as you wont have gotten to the higher-levelled abilities others will have.

Fight for something to die for, because living for nothing really isn't worth it.

I concur. I won't be doing any ranged, and only a very limited amount of restoration. My focus will be primarily DPS
