Account Wide Guild Membership System

I've always disliked having to get a guild invite for every single one of my characters or having my guilds roster filled with peoples alts along with their mains. I suggest doing what GW2 did and make guilds account wide.

Quote:Membership

Guild membership is administered at the account level, and an account can hold membership in multiple guilds. Joining a guild requires an invitation sent from an existing member of the guild. Your open invitations can be found on the front tab of the guild panel, on the left, under "Invitations."

To accept an invitation to join a guild, select the guild in the "Invitations" list, then click the "Join Guild" button at the bottom of the window.
To leave a guild, select the guild from the "Account Guilds" list, then click the "Leave Guild" button at the bottom of the window.

Representation

While guild membership is at the account level, guild representation is at the character level, providing access to guild chat, the guild bank, and any active guild upgrades. In addition, influence generated by activities accrues to the guild currently represented by the character.

To represent a guild, open the guild panel. On the left, under "Account Guilds," will be a list of all guilds your account is a member of; select one and then click the "Represent" button at the bottom of the window. You must do this individually for each character, since joining a guild does not automatically require you to represent it. Similarly, newly-created characters will not represent a guild until you select one for them.

To end a character's representation of a guild, choose Stand Down; the character will still belong to the guild, but not be able to use any of that guild's perks.

* You can join multiple guilds if you want (limit is 4).

* Guild leaders should not worry about their members joining multiple guilds if they are truly dedicated.

* You cannot represent a guild that is not of the faction your current character is apart of. Guild leaders can see if a player is online on another faction and can whisper them/ send them mail.

Ex: Artarius Aetius (DC) - DC Guild (Yes)
Artarius Aetius (DC) - AD Guild (No)

* You can switch between guilds simply by representing/standing down

* You will stay represent to a guild once you click represent. So when you log in you will already be representing unless you clicked stand down the previous time you were logged in.

* Guild leaders can see if a player is online whether he/she is representing their guild or another.

* If a player is offline it just shows the players account name.

* Option to hide online status in guilds that you are not currently representing. So if you check this option you will appear offline to any guilds you are not representing.

* When creating your account you would select a account name(not used for login). Your account name will be visible in the guild roster along with which character you are logged in with.

Ex: Character Name - Account Name
Artarius Aetius - DV Eligere
Octavius Aetius - DV Eligere

* If people don't like the idea of joining multiple guilds then I still believe guilds should be account wide since Guild leaders wouldn't want their guild filled with alts. Also it will allow for more room for new members too.

Intresting idea, I like the concept... although in TESO''s case, when you switch accounts it should do it automatically. This is because some people may switch from a Nord to a Khajiit character.

I wouldn't make it represent a guild automatically since someone could be in multiple AD guilds for ex. But once you represent a guild you stay represented until you click stand down. The option to represent a guild from another faction should not be available though.

I prefer invites to take place on a per-character basis rather than at an account level. I don't think it's much of a hassle to add peoples alts to your guild, even for some of the larger guilds. This also makes it easier to regulate who represents your guild. Regardless of if it's a persons alt that's already in your guild, I would much rather have these things approved per alt. I believe this would also better suit roleplaying guilds.

I don't really understand what you mean. The only difference I see is seeing each players character on the roster. My method would show what character a player is currently logged into. If you are offline it just shows your account name.

I thought it was straight forward, but maybe not. But to add on, I also don't like the fact that anyone would be able to see me playing on my alt just because my main is in their guild. I'm stalked enough as it is, nobody needs to know what character I'm currently playing unless I want them to know. Which is why I'd rather pledge into a guild on a per-character basis.

Sometimes i like to haw Alts that my guild doesn't know about, in case i just want some "me" time or i am lending my account to a friend, if guild entry is account only i wont haw that chance, because even if i go to alt my guild knows i am logged in.

Ugh, I was so excited for multiple guilds, but if its implemented like guild wars where your account name is on the roster of the guild......
I hated in mmo's when I would be getting into playing an alt that was in my mains guild and then "Log your main and craft these for me" "Can you log your main and open this?" "Heal this Khandaq" etc etc bleh

Would every be up for an option to hide online status in guilds that you are not currently representing?
