“I do not wish the destruction of the mortal races, their greed and lust for power brings that upon them daily. I do wish for order. For with order comes balance, and with balance comes peace.” –Aelzim Sunstriker

Name: Aelzim Sunstriker
Sex: Male
Age: 25
Occupation: Soldier/Armorsmith
Faction: Aldmeri Dominion
Personality: Helpful, humble, seeks to serve and protect others.
Backstory: Immovable in his convictions, fierce in his loyalties, and honorable in his decisions, Aelzim embodies the pinnacle of the Dominion and what they stand for. His is quest is not one of glory or fame or acquisition of power for power’s sake. His is a quest of perpetuating balance and order in the world.
Aelzim has watched and observed the rulings of man, and the consequences of such men upon the realm of Tamriel. He has seen the wars and the devastation brought on by those wars and the effects on the people. Ruling is about serving, and to Aelzim, it is proven that no man can fully understand that concept.
Aelzim believes, just as his Queen, that ruling should be a matter left to the elves for several reasons. First, they are a far more older race, a race that has seen and experienced things that make them wiser, and more capable of ruling without becoming susceptible to the corruption of power and greed. Secondly, the White Tower was built by the elves, so it would seem it is their right to rule from the White Tower. Thirdly, the Dominion doesn’t seek domination, but order and peace. Neither of which can coexist with the reign of a Nord, Redguard, Breton, or Orc.
Like anyone else, Aelzim’s actions can be attributed to his belief system. Always seeking to help others and restore balance, Aelzim is most noteworthy for his compassion. Whether it be a simple task to help a villager, or being on the front line with his allies to further the cause of the Aldmeri Dominion, you will find Aelzim doing everything he can to restore order and balance to the world.

Greatest Challenge: Aelzim's greatest challenge is to find peace within himself. He longs to find balance in the world, but his quest for order forces him to see and experience things that makes him question his judgement. He tends to dwell in the past and ponder the "what if's". His greatest passion for order and peace often drives him to the brink of morality in it's purest form, and war at the very least.

Religious Views: Aelzim follows the Eight Divines, believing that each is needed to balance one another. He sees the Daedra as agents of chaos and misery, and a threat to the peace of his world.

Just as a heads up, the devs confirmed elvish lifespans as being hundreds of years. We (I) don't know about the speed of physical or mental maturation.

So if you wanted him young, 100 is considered young. 200 middle aged, 300 elderly. Massive generalizations obviously, but you get the general picture.

Otherwise, I like that his 'naziism' as people seem to like describing it is well though out and, for him, backed up by a knowledge of history and the past. His philosophical thinking on balance is reflected in almost all aspects of the character, and yet contrasted in his belief that only the elves can rule. He seems to be a thinker, even though he isn't a mage or a scholar. I like that.

If you intend to do any forum Rp, an appearance section is a must, and his equipment and fighting style is recommended. Otherwise, an interesting character, not too many altmer on these forums. Another fully realized one is always welcome, even if we will end up on the opposite side of the conflict!

Thanks for your reply! I saw that piece on the elves that you are referring to. As Queen Ayrenn is quoted to be a mere 28 years old at the start of her reign, and I kind of wanted him to reflect some of myself in some areas, I felt justified in aging him at 25 (my age). It also gives him more life to live, if you will. Being so young, a lot of his knowledge of these things come mainly from books and stories, and his own brief travels off of the Isles.

I totally agree that his belief in balance contrasts his belief that only the elves should rule, but it also justifies it by the simple fact that the other races can't. As far as him being a thinker, that's part of where I wanted to reflect some of myself, being that every choice he makes has a solid and resolute reasoning behind it, even if he questions it later.

I don't plan on doing an RP at the moment, but if I do, I will definitely update this post to reflect his fighting style, appearance, and equipment. Thanks again for taking the time to dissect my dear Aelzim, and yes, I will see you in Cyrodiil!
