An idea about TES

I wasn't sure if this is the correct category to write this, so it may belong to the Role-playing...
Well, imagine a new story of TES, in which the protagonist (your character) starts as always in a prison, where some people of a cult or an organization come to find them, having a specific purpose...the destruction of the Daedra!
These people will ,of course, worship the Nine and so, your adventure begins with the termination of the Daedric cults in Cyrodiil (being the center of all the other nations) and the collection of daedric artifacts just to be used against their creators.
Then, an invasion in Oblivion will follow, with purpose to find and eliminate the daedric lords...
- I know it may sound really stupid, but I thought it was a cool idea to share :) -
Any thoughts?

You would think that Daedras are immune to their own artifacts...? I mean that Azuras star cannot contain Azuras soul, Molags mace does nothing to Molag himself, Sheogorath staff has no affect on on Sheogorath etc.

No, this would ensure that no one could use their artifacts against you during your mission.

?

If you mean Daedra, how would it ensure that? Cause i assume the player (protagonist) is not a Daedra. I meant that if you were to use their artifacts against them, they are ineffective. So why wouldnt they be effective on you?

Well, let's take things from the start. You are a mortal and together with a cult you decide to turn against the daedra and exterminate them. A side mission is to locate every daedric artifact and take it away, so that the daedra cannot give them to another champion of theirs to use them against you. I don't know if the Daedra can take their artifacts back to Oblivion, but let's say that your cult has a spell to keep them "chained".

I've moved this over to the blend, as it's about a general TES storyline rather than The Elder Scrolls Online specifically.

The daedra are the only true immortals in the elder scrolls universe though. Even the eight can die, but not the daedra. For a plan like that to work, you would first need to find some powerful artifact that would turn the daedra lords mortal, and the only race I think that could have achieved that would have been the dwemer. Unfortunately, the whole race is gone.

Yes, you have a point, I guess...I didn't know the eight could die though!

Nine! Even the nine can die!

And i think there isnt/wasnt such artifact that makes Daedra mortal! Cause mortal mind cannot make artifact that turns immortals to mortals... Mortals cannot comprehend immortality, so its kind of impossible.

After all dwemer were mortals..

Though was the Dragonrend meant to be used kind of same way... That the Dragon would feel how mortality feels?

Don't you mean the Nine? But at the time of ESO, Talos wasn't a god.

All but that one in Morrowind.

@Arilyn I'm surprised to see an Altmer admit the divinity of Talos.

Yes, I meant the nine. I'm just so used to thinking of the time period of TESO that I forgot about Talos. Thank you for the correction.

I'm not entirely sure the Dwemer could do it either, they are just the only race I can think of that might be able to. Maybe a Dragonborn could beseech Akatosh to tech him a shout that could make the daedra mortal, but that's rather far fetched as well.

I respect Talos, if you ask me he earned his place.

Although there was originally eight divines, so it should be referred as "The eight and one". And even there is contradiction wether the divines granted him his divinity or hi obtained it other means, he earned it.

If the divines granted him to godhood, who are we to question divines and their decisions? If they saw Tiber Septim as a worthy, he was worthy.
And if he obtained divinity some other way (if even possible) its still quite impressive. A man who found a way to be a god!

I was always under the impression that he took his divinity by force, and even usurped Akatosh as the most powerful of the divines. I could easily be wrong though, I'm not as well versed in the lore as many others are on this site.

Thats the thing. Lore doesnt say it clearly... Lore is filled with uncertainty on purpose, to create contradiction among players.

Without that contradiction, most of the lore wars and events wouldnt happen.
